It would be but it’s hard to implement. Consider how disorienting the switch from the fixed camera to the over the shoulder would be. I hope someone manages to implement it in a smart way one day but it’s absolutely a difficult thing to do

You mean you want people to not compare it to... the literal one and only game it is a remake of? Wtf else do you expect people to compare it to then? I'm sorry, but if you think these can't or shouldn't be compared, regardless of how you feel about either game, then just walk away and let other people have a discussion. In the same breath, if you instantly disregard anyone else's opinion without hearing what they have to say or are incapable of thoughtfully articulating how you feel about either game, then also just walk away. The discourse needs to be something other than "remake is a masterpiece omg" or "remake is complete trash omg."

Well that's just it, isn't it? SH2 didn't need a remake. Period. The presentation and gameplay still hold up. Why are we making a new game called SH2 instead of leaving its legacy alone?

I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, although it's probably one of the best AAA-horrorgames in recent memory. Still, compared to the original, - it's far longer than it needs to be, so the story and enemy-variety gets spread out rather thin - voice-acting and cutscene direction are kinda "meh" - it's a different game with the same name, calling it a faithful remake is just not correct. - I personally don't care for any of the character redesigns PC port seems to have performance issues, but at least the game got a fresh new coat of paint and doesn't completely suck. Blooberteam did okay.

I’ll be honest, I can already tell you Michigan won’t be here. After buying rule of rose I can’t afford spending 300 more on that one 🥲 it’s a game I definitely want to tackle at some point and by some point I just mean “whenever I manage to end a month without being in red” cause holy Christ, buying so many games is burning my wallet

Even looking at an old interview with the game director apparently even the rights over the game are a bit screwy. Between that and the touchy subjects that really don’t gel well with the current “very safe, very cheerful” climate, I don’t see this game being ported any time soon. And at any rate, it really would benefit from a proper remake. So much stuff needs to be ironed out to bring out the good stuff

@roboknobthesnob ouch fair enough. Maybe it's just been too long for me since a good game. I hated how they censored Silent Hill 2 in the remake.

@@angelofchaos8233 not particularly interested in Signalis, mostly because I constantly heard people comparing it to silent hill and that always ended tragically. Alissa is in my wishlist though, I’m very curious about it, it’s just that my backlog is massive and I have to try and keep up with new releases for my reviews

@@roboknobthesnob Spooky is how I would describe Scooby Doo 😂 I just got done playing and there were some moments I was screaming like Marlon Wayans in A Haunted House 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Definitely NOT GOTY material, but some really good jumpscares 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Can't wait to play Sandcastle, I've heard they made that game better!!!

I still have to get my hands on it. I remember seeing there were very sci fi stuff added to it and that kind of put me off but once I have some downtime definitely gonna try it
