Jupiter: "This is a lot like Castlevania 2" Also Jupiter: *Runs straight to boss without weapon upgrades or whatever the equivalent of Laurel is* You know you are too good at these games when you are throwing WWE levels of dramatic disrespect at them XD
Since there's so little info about this game to go around right now, I thought you should know that this game has 3 endings and completion time does not appear to be factor in which one you get. This ending is simply for reaching the end of the game and defeating Bael. Potential Minor Spoilers: The other two are tied to gathering all the Logaeth pages and (to my understanding) 100% completion
The most of the cryptic endings has to be the "bitter" one where Dominique succumbs to the curse and dies, apparently you have to have all Logaeth pages BUT you need to NOT have all the skill shards. Problem is that there are very little options there are, out of 7 abilities *only 2 are really optional:* the dive-kick granted by a hidden Hunter which is frankly useless and the double-jump which is the game becomes immediately worse without (especially since you are still expected to easter egg hunt the entire map)
What's funny to me about this mode, beyond it being a blatant love-letter to Simon's Quest, is that its basic story premise is nearly identical to that of Magolor Epilogue in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe: The main villain from the story mode (Dominique/Magolor) is transported to an alternate dimension after being defeated by the protagonist (Miriam/Kirby), where they're stripped of their powers and have to gradually restore them in order to return to the real world. However, unlike with Magolor, Dominique's quest isn't motivated by any desire to atone for her sins, but instead by petty revenge. In that sense, I think the bad ending is very appropriate for her character. Since she was never humbled or remorseful by her defeat, she deserved to remain trapped in Limbo forever.
@@DeepWeeb Well, regardless of which game predated the other, I just find it amusing that these two completely unrelated games both released within a couple years of each other and happen to share very similar story beats.

It's almost a shame the devs couldn't have just offered up Curse of the Moon 1 and 2 'in game' to be the Castlevania 3's to this and Classic 1's Castlevania 1, but from what little I've played so far, this is obscenely fantastic, in terms of content.
Those were made years before this and by a different developer. Those two games are worth buying by themselves. I don't think they should or would offer them free. They are not expensive anyway.
Finally beat the true ending today (it's tied to completion percentage, not moon cycles!). This DLC is awesome. It's the perfect take on Simon's Quest, I think. I really enjoyed how tough the platforming got at times. ...Playing without all the range upgrades looks hellish though.

Summon circle can be found at night in Wood of Sacrifice, where there are lots of plants blocking an entrance but must be with dead moon. Once there, you will face a giant werewolf. After that, you can go downstairs and find the summon circle in a chest.
You must collect all 16 scrolls of the book inside each boss castle to get the true ending. I got it in 4 hours,. Unlike Castlevania II, time is not considered.
I wish Igarashi would make O.D. (Orlock Dracule) a playable character. But...maybe that would give off too much of a "symphony of the night" feeling to the game. Especially when you know O.D. is voiced by the same guy who voiced Alucard in SOTN.
