    Chopping tree analogy is great. Most of the time they are cut from the bottom. But sometimes if the tree is too close to many structures or leaning in a wrong direction, arborists will cut it from the top down in sections.

    Am I miscalculating something, or is 27. Bb5 possible for white? Probably not worth playing in a rapid game even if it does work.

      Jacob Tarallo It seems weaker to me than 27.Bxf7+ or 27.Qd3, e.g. 27.Bb5 Rxc3 28.Bxa4 Rxc2 29.Bxc2 Rxd4. Actually, maybe 29...Rc4!? is good, pinning the bishop to the rook.
