"You were impatient, I was a fallback, A dirty mistake, you never called back, You were salvation, I never told you, I always had the notion,I would fall in love with you,"Perfect.
I'm just about 30, but when in high school I read a book that I could never find again after returning it to the library. As I read it on my bed, I played this song and it etched itself into my memory to the point where I can only think of that book when this song rarely comes on the shuffle. It was about a single mother and her two teens who were twins, a boy and a girl, moving to a new small coastal town. The main plot was the boy falling in love and having confusing feelings about his best friend, only for them to share a night together before he disappears and ceases speaking to him and leaving him heartbroken. I can't hardly remember anything else about the book but I've been searching for it for a long ass time.
This song will forever be the song I find the hardest to listen to. I put all my feels into it and every time I listen to it it makes me sad and I cry. I love this song so much.
this song has a really interesting feeling to it. for the most part it switches between hopeful/sad, but especially parts like 0:27-0:37 sound almost threatening
I know rise has a hell lotta metalcore bands that doesn’t make any sense in life, but they still got the best ones! Issues, DGD, PVRIS, SWS. Love rise so much
i prefer tillian in tides instead of dgd... his sound is just way too different for dgd imo **2017 edit: I completely redact this statement. I still love tides tilian, but he has definitely formed his place in dgd
***** how do you think they sound off? Personally the mix on instant gratification is amazing, and it appeals a lot to Tillian's personal taste of pop music that you hear on his solo project, while also maintaining Swan's style and the DGD sound. Acceptance speech had a heavier approach because I feel Tillian wanted to sing to the bands style to prove he could fit in their sound, and then the band started working with his style and found the sound you hear in Instant gratification. I am interested in your opinion because you might have noticed something I would definitely listen to those albums again to try and find.
I think he's good in Dance Gavin Dance when recording and writing with them. But when they play older songs recorded by either Kurt or Johnny I agree that he can't match up with the song right. But I think when DGD writes with him it's pretty awesome. :)
I was living in Detroit at the time I first heard this song. I would listen to it while speeding beyond the limits set along M-1. I gave her up. Best decision I never made.
I don't know anything about this band, or the members. I just clicked on this, and I love the music, regardless of who is or was or could be in the band.
Agreed. Got a buddy who says his work in DGD far surpasses this, and I completely disagree. I generally don't care for DGD's directionless lyrics and how they bounce around genre's in one song too often. This is Tillian's best work so far IMO, though his solo stuff is also good.
Usually, riserecords videos' quality for their bands' music isn't that good. But then again, this band isn't like any other on the label... Well played, Rise...
Actually Pearson left this band on 12/20/10 if my sources are correct. What an opportunity Pearson has been given to be able to work along side the likes of Swan, Mess, and Mingus. But I don't think Pearson's recruitment to dgd is official just yet. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
It is weird, because when I hear DGD i think of a distinct sound that Kurt Travis and Johnny Craig both had, but Pearson just sounds different. But, I always have faith in DGD to put out some rockin shit
Does anyone know any artists (even electronic) That sound just like the parts from 0:13 to 0:24? I need some artist that have the quite soothing, yet happy and awesome sound. Thanks ahead of time if you find any ^O^
"You were impatient, I was a fallback, A dirty mistake, you never called back, You were salvation, I never told you, I always had the notion,I would fall in love with you,"Perfect.
Bro i read this comment at the exact same time that lyric came on. What a fucking coincidence XD
@@CoffeeKnife Sickkk😝
damn...
8 years... Wowxd
I could listen to 3:02 - 4:02 on repeat for the rest of my life.
Touché
+Princess Sophia Gah, I'm so in love that part it caught my attention, and seems like there is so much emotion in it.
+Lee Do Makes my cheeks tingle haha.
i feel the same about 0:00 - 1:00
3:02 from there on it's like the 2nd chorus to the song, it's fucking beautiful. I love everything put together in this song
Tilian has the voice of a Greek god.
dude i wish i had his voice.
I am Cupid
Devon Foister Cupid is Roman, Eros is the Greek version
That moment when you listen to a song that completely reminds you of someone you're not supposed to be missing
This band was too good.
It deserves a new comment; something left behind like a rose left on a grave

He surprisingly is amazing in both groups. I guess where Tilian goes, talent follows. He's amazing.
Was kind of upset when I found out Jonny was gone but this guy has a fantastic voice so I don't even care.
The drums in this song are mastered so perfectly
man this song is too heavy with memories...
TheSergio1021 same man same
How about now 5 years even later hah

I prefer their instrumental album, but this has some serious instrumental genius in it as well. And this guys vocals are pretty great
He's in the new Dance Gavin Dance album, too.
I've seen you on multiple band videos that I've watched. You, sir, have good taste.
Jarrod Vickers lol thanks!
Whats their inst album may I ask? kinda intrigue with this band and want to know more about them~
+Anhchara Kuch Young and Courageous

Words cannot describe how much I wish Tilian was still in Tides of Man. This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
The end of 2019 and listening to this and seeing Tilian with long hair is adorable.
creí haber escuchado la voz mas hermosa... asta que escuche tu voz... jamas volvi a escuchar otra igual♥
I feel like for every ten bands Rise posts on here, there's one incredible one. This is the perfect one.
So true
i prefer tillian in tides instead of dgd... his sound is just way too different for dgd imo
**2017 edit: I completely redact this statement. I still love tides tilian, but he has definitely formed his place in dgd
but when he plays live. he can hit any note he wants.
Daniel Plumb
but why not matt geise though? X(

Petition for Donovan Melero to do an album with dgd !
My favorite song by these guys. Such an amazing band.
another underrated band
I was living in Detroit at the time I first heard this song. I would listen to it while speeding beyond the limits set along M-1. I gave her up. Best decision I never made.
i cant get enough of 0:30 to 0:49 ...like the guitar is so unf
Soooo prettyyyyy 🖤🖤🖤
The end part gives me serious chills
I don't know anything about this band, or the members. I just clicked on this, and I love the music, regardless of who is or was or could be in the band.
Lost a 3 year relationship with this playing in the background. So much pain so much love, tides of man❤️
First time listening to the original version, and it's got a great feeling to it.
I'm so obsessed with this song.
Kinda reminds me of Circa Survive for some reason
Might be the greatest song of all time
Explains my feelings so perfectly
This is the one album Reach Records put out this year that didn't disappoint me.
current favorite band, i cant wait to hear their new stuff!
I remember in 2012 browsing for bands like fall of Troy and this popped up and I knew Tillian was going to go places.
Their lyrics are amazing!
Any DGD fans out here?
+Korey Kline duh I'm here
meh doesnt lift a finger to this, pretty dissapointed tbh
You know it! loll

Korey Kline Yeah but I don't listen to them anymore, tilian doesn't match their funk
something about 3:02 makes me have an almost surreal out of body experience
Song pulls at the heart strings
Pleno 2018 e eu ainda amo
This song gives me nostalgia of feelings I used to have for this girl
I love this song so much!!!!
My best friend taught me this song the first time we smoked weed 9 years ago... I still think this song is fuking amazing
Omg my first time was 9 years ago too lol
Memories!
What a great song
I feel like this is their best song. By far.
I love this.
The beginning reminds me of that part where the guys are singing in the movie super bad
THAT'S JIMMY'S BROTHER, THE SINGER!
+eddie rosado HAHAHA
I am digging this
I really love this sound. Definitely an impressive band, good sign Rise.
Amazing song
Can't wait for the new DGD with this guy :D
I talked to them, they are suppose to be recording a full instrumental EP, and I'm fucking stoked.
I dedicate the song to my first love.
same, homie.
so insanely beautiful...
Nice song!
The same was said about Kurt before he joined. And DGD is very adaptable if you compare the DBMs, DS and Happiness. IMO he'll do nicely.
0:10 Pickachu!
I've always wondered why this album never got uploaded, it's been out for over a year now haha But this band is amazing!!
I don't simply play this at a low volume. It has to be loud.
I am SO glad I accidentally clicked on this link. This song is awesome!
This is just 2015 me and 2019 me
Especially "You never told me you had a notion that you knew what we could be"
This is my favorite song. Ever. Period. 3:00 is just beautiful!
Perfect
Usually, riserecords videos' quality for their bands' music isn't that good.
But then again, this band isn't like any other on the label...
Well played, Rise...
THAT WAS TOTALLY WICKED!
oh god its reminds me a circa
Tilian is one of a kind
Damn, those last 2 minutes...
This song made me pick up a guitar for the first time.
been a Tilian fan before he joined DGD
Its meaningful music thats all you need to know
I've been a fan for awhile actually :P But thank you, kind sir ^0^
Its a damn shame that tillian parted ways with this band
nice song i think im going to start liking it
These guys asked me 12 years ago to move to FL and I said no out of fear and now I have to think about it for the rest of my life
You probably made the wise choice
so relaxing :)
Despite the "implication"
Why is this such a fucking beautiful song? TELL ME
Fucking song ! I can’t stop listen Tilian’voice. Tides of Man : Dreamhouse and now from DGD ❤️
Still one of my favorite songs 😍

for some reason the second i started listening to this i could smell the scent of fruit in a grocery store.... felt like throwing that out

and he did!
This video was posted a couple months ago, I think it's safe to say they're around :P
TYSON STEVENS OF SCARY KIDS SCARING KIDS BROUGHT ME HERE!!
they still are together, they just haven't found a new singer yet
he may have gotten his inspiration from anthony green, but he did it better, and you can't deny that.
Thanks brosef!
You are correct. ;)
whats the category and why isn't this band popular
I saw someone ask Matt Mingus on facebook if the tilian rumor was true, and he said it is.
If you like this type of music listen to "The Speed of Sound in Seawater"
Amen julija
I thought he was going over to Saosin?
