True, I have always have this problem with the office canteens. They pretty much use the same grill for veg as well as meat sandwiches, pizzas etc. I have even tried to educate them manybtimes. But they just don't get it. The thought of meat and it's juices coming in contact with non meat eaters food just puts us off.

She need a clean spoon not separates spoon. She consume the food and not the vessel that served the food. Across India, Dalits were given a separate mug for drinking water, a practice that once evolved out of personal choice. We have to consider what kind of solution such individual choice will reach because the time is changing and the result will be met.
A wonderful sensible woman. Somehow Kosher and Halal is respected but not pure vegetarianism. We must respect all food habits.
You are absolutely right! I have heard that many American universities have a mandate that kosher food needsvto be prepared in a dedicated vessel and not to be mixed with regular food. Imagine the irony here. Both are meat diets and yet for religious reasons they separate it. But here in india it becomes a joke!
As a youngster I used to feel left out for being vegetarian. But now that I am old, I am unapologetic about my food choices, my culture, customs etc. Let those woke lumpens burn!

As a vegetarian I also love to carry my own food , I am a foodie but it's hard to find a good vegetarian restaurant where they searve food without onion and garlic...but the same thing also going in mind that they say its veg but they dip the same spoon here and there 😅. @@lakshyavarshney9942 first of all people don't have knowledge about food the concept of food according to spritulalty is way beyond thn commonly we can think about Vegetarian and non Vegetarian .Food is not just food , food is something which made our body brian way of thinking our every capabilities depends on food understanding food and how it consumed when what to consumed and wht not etc. Everyone must be conscious about wht they eat it's very much important, of course She does thts why her nature and way of thinking her personality mesmerizing. In context, what she said is totally acceptable and not offensive. Most pure vegetarians especially from namma Karnataka think like this, and we non-vegetarians need to understand and respect their sentiments.

I am under my 30's and I follow the same thing as a matter of food as I am too pure vegetarian but people around make fun of me that I don't enjoy food and you don't have much options as vegetarian. For that matter I also love cooking and started offering them my home cooked food and they were amazed by the variety we can explore being a vegetarian and satvik.

I was a hardcore meat eater but I became a vegan/vegetarian a few years ago. I have to admit that I thought pure vegetarians who struggled to eat outside in restaurants serving meat were strange and I would wonder why they can't adjust but I understand it now. It's difficult for a lot of meat eaters to have empathy and understanding towards strict vegetarians, I am happy that I can see her perspective and it's unfortunate that she was criticized.

The same empathy has to be shown in understanding that vegetarian food is a caste sanction and people who eat nonvegetarian food fall below in the hierarchy of caste and looked down upon. One can never know if the disgust is for food or for the lower caste practice of eating nonvegetarian food. Her practice of eating vegetarian food is familial based and caste based. Its not a simple discussion of veg or nonveg. Its about the sense of purity and pollution associated to veg and nonveg food respectively.

I am vegetarian and when i eat at any place with my non vegetarian friends they make sure that they are not touching the non veg food hands with the veg food, they are are so respectful. We eat together respectfully

When I got an opportunity to tour Eu for approx. 1 month, i had pre-booked good hotels and wasn’t sure if I would be able to afford 3-4 meals at local restaurants for that long.
I packed ready to eat meals (discarded the cardboard packaging) and dry Thepla. Thankfully, breakfast was included in all the hotel bookings and I was able to spend money on shopping/activities etc.
To each, his own 🙏🏽

Yes as a vegetarian I too suffer when traveling outside India. In India we can get vegetarian food but very difficult outside India. I love my country and our sanatan dharma which is very scientific.

All development happened in the world including basic things like electricity, bulb printing ,TV etc etc list goes on is the brain of Jews and Christians not vegetarians . @jeevanthampi767 we are missing on violence, and flesh of murdered beings who want to live and breathe and bleed like us, now don't say even plants have life, plants don't have nervous system, yes they do feel some pain but then if we cut a portion of their body, they grow back, bcoz they are like fungus. Aryabhatt was a vegetarian and so was many other Indian inventors. Clean heart woman. How sweet to listen to her. Like a child at her heart. In fact every woman is a combination of all intelligent, childish, helpful, angry, happy.. they can be a gem if properly studied and have a good supporting family.
Clear example of an empowered confident women who is a billionaire, runs successful NGOs yet still deeply rooted to her culture and doesn't shy away eating with her hands. She can buy all that LV's , SL's , Gucci etc etc but she is confident in the way she wants to be. I really like such humans no nakhra and giving back to society.

Whereas, non vegetarians lack this sense. So, atleast for the sake of conscience non vegetarians should respect vegetarians.
@@chinmayraul7966 in morachapally telangana heavy floods spoiled entire villages ,all dairy cattles and dairy animals died and all paddy fields and all farm fields crops have destroyed. the only thing left is humans life and water everywhere even under beds inside houses. seems like you people have not faced this problem. if a problem comes everybody is same no brahmin no other caste, in such cases even cultivating vegetarian food is very difficult atleast you must live with eating bread .so dont get pampered with suda words. she's born rich spoon so does her words matter or inspires ,iam a brahmin ,i haved faced more poverty i dont do ruckus on food divisions i eat whatever that is given to me aslong as thats not meat .your faith doesnt matter when problems arises

Like with empty stomach and poverty we can't even do basic things and can't even give thought to continue our religious practices. When one can not bring food for children then discriminating food is sin. Whatever available by God's grace should be accepted as food and survived first.

There is, quite interestingly, a story of another famous woman from Hubballi, the singer Dr. Gangubai Hangal of the Kirana gharana, who, it is said, when she had to go for a music conference, would travel with containers full of chutneys and perhaps ghee and would only ask her host for fresh rice. Sudha ji’s point about vegetarianism is completely understandable as I have been vegetarian my whole life and many of my friends are also vegetarians.
