I was also an English Learner in the 70’s and listening to your experience has really resonated with me!! I am a former teacher and author who now works with teachers of students like us. Thank you so much for sharing your story! While the times have changed, the experience of being an English learner is one that remains largely unchanged. Learning a second language was facilitated by teachers with whom I felt a connection! You’ve found a way to connect with people from all walks of life through food! Thank you for sharing your experience.
I've loved watching you cook for years! You in Italy is my favorite! Positano! Learning about your Childhood was fun! I love your creamy polish and green outfit too!! You're always fashionable! ❤
I love Bay Cities Deli and visited many times when I lived in LA. Now I live in the Palm Springs area and there are hardly any real Italian deli’s except for one☹️ great hearing about Giada’s childhood.💕

Love these lunch conversations. Keep them coming. My daughter lives in Southern California, would love to know if you have any favorite places to eat there. I am visiting in February to see my granddaughter.
Bay Cities is my favorite Italian Deli. And Giada is having the sandwich I always order, The Godmother, works, mild! When I’m craving, have to cross town a bit, in LA traffic, but so worth it!!!
I used to always make my ex-husband's Italian combo with roasted red peppers in olive oil he really liked that. He was Italian and Hungarian. I miss him every day.

I think you are absolutely wonderful, Giada. Thank you so much for this candid interview series. I think you are amazing and I like to know you as a person. Thanks for sharing!
I love that. It was great. It brought back a lot of old memories. I love my barbie dolls too. I had midge and skipper too and Ken. My grandfather made the best pancakes. He called them flap jacks. To this day I judge places by how good their pancakes. I like Ihops. Pumpkin pancakes are really good too my grandpa didn't make those. His old fashioned oatmeal was really good too. I would smell that coffee perking on the stove. I wasn't allowed to have it when I was little but he would sneak me some. My grandpa died when I was fourteen I miss him every day. Him and my grandmother really like chovolate. So I was always a chocaholic. I still love halloween for the kids I say some for them some for me.
😒 Jaba wow! ... kids just wanting to be cool making fun of others...fast fwd and I'm sure they are eating their hearts out now. Ya shoulda been nice kids!

Nothing like a good, Italian deli sandwich. If you're ever in Pennsylvania, you have to try Durham Deli in Levittown PA. Priceless.
thx for the rec!
@@Giadzy You are most welcome! 😊
Luv Giada!👍
You should have a zoom with Pasta Grammer or visit their school in Iltaly.
One of my favorite recipes of yours is your chicken cacciatore.

Giada, Here's a question for your next Q&A. You do not mention your father a lot. Is he still living. Also was he Italian or American? Thanks,
How can you have that much self control? I would be devouring the food first before making any conversation 😂
