also how is this game not on PC? i think rockstar would make tons as long as they do it in-house 🤔
The game is an entire mess of code so it'd be hard to port it. That's why they didn't do it originally. But they could accomplish it in-house but i don't think they would find the effort worthwhile.
the game is fully playable on PC via emulation now, with performance on par with console on even lower tier PC's.
mid and higher tier PC's even get 60 fps.
technically it's absolutely available on PC now just not as an official port. It's easier to install than Rockstar launcher too.

And never remastered RDR1, DLC undead nightmare or GTA4 until this day for PC or for next generation and previous generation. They only care about GTA online.

It fits the “nightmare” theme. Generally in your most bizarre of dreams you probably were just as casual in them despite seeing or doing something that in real life you’d react differently to. John throughout his whole “dream” just lets people get eaten and shrugs it off like “well that was weird” but it makes sense considering this DLC has no place in the timeline of the actual game so it can only be a dream John had

When I was younger this game gave me a overwhelming sense of anxiety because of how spooky it was compared to the base game

I think John still wasn't sure if he was himself. Might have thought uncle just gone crazy, nothing to cure. But he watched Abigail and Jack turn.
To be fair Uncle was taking a good chunk out of Abigail's neck at the moment too.
RDR2 had insane untapped potential that was neglected for old ass gta. Undead nightmare was awesome
Undead Nightmare is awesome. The lonely/haunted aesthetic of a zombie western game is so unique. It’s one of its’ only few kind. Plus the range of infected animals and world building for a world gone mad makes UN one of my all time favorite properties.

Always thought RDR 2 Undead Nightmare would have been even more epic and far gorier with current console hardware. One can still dream of what could still hopefully one day be.

It's one of those games that makes you remember how damn good Rockstars writers have always been. This DLC and the game itself is just a perfect love letter to classic Westerns and the horror genre.
Rockstar made Manhunt Which had really great atmosphere So its no surprise this is great also The writting and dialogue is always top notch in rockstar games.
The writing for this DLC is super cheesy but it seems intentional.
@@Chicky_Lumps it is intentional. The overarching joke is that it's a riff on low-budget zombie movies, along with John Marston's no-nonsense attitude leading to him treating the actual zombie apocalypse like just another day in the West.

The fact that during the entire thing it is heavily implied that everything is in a dream, but that ends up not being the case makes the twist at the end so much more insane

Im glad you finally played this. One thing to point out is that most, not all, of the graveyard bosses were people that you did Stranger and Freaks missions for in the base game.

When John returns as a zombie it is basically purgatory for him, that's the theory. And it is non canon because some characters are around when they should be dead, such Nastas who is a zombie but no one questions why he's around even though he was shot point blank.
@@Mogeko_Ranger something I noticed is that Marshall from Armadillo and Landon ricketts say they must be in a nightmare in the main game once you play as Jack it's confirmed that they both died shortly after John.
The online wave mode for undead nightmare was stupidly fun. I spent way more time on that than any other rockstar online mode. Brings back good memories. Thanks for this upload!

The best DLC ever created. This was such a good addition to the game. Really wish they would make a pc port for this game.
It actually released as a standalone physical release too so you didn't need to have the original game to play it

“mod“ back when it came out … it felt AAA and top-tier.
This DLC literally taught me my that hitting the “Fire” button when up-close to an enemy performs an “instant-kill” on enemies, something I didn’t even know you could do in the main game until playing this😅 One of the greatest DLC packs ever made, for one of the greatest games ever made 🙂

Exactly and if it doesn’t trigger the execution animation then John just swings his gun and crushes their heads in. I only knew about it in the main game bc 20 executions was the requirement for one of the outfits

I was never into zombie games until I tried undead nightmare as a teenager and it gave me a dream of having another open world zombie game, the only thing I found so far is days gone, both are amazing games

The only ones in my list are days gone (template for how a zombie survival game should be, but there is room for improvement), dying light, and to some degree dayZ
@@whiterunguard1974 You should try the resident evil games, dying light 2, No One Survived - Beta rn so it isnt fully finished, Left 4 dead, The Dying light DLCs such as bozak horde - The Following, And its not a zombie game but Titanfall 2 is REALLY fun

This game absolutely manages to make a great atmosphere and perfect it
How the world feels empty and silent only to hear zombie screams and the foggy wither and also the lack of ammunition just makes me feel alone witch is super scary
Funny enough you can also find alma's ghost in another graveyard (that isn't one you have to cleanse) and she has a side quest where she wants you to find her husband who is also dead but when you go back when the quest tells you to she's gone. Completely forgot you could fight her corpse tbh
My favorite thing that comes from Undead Nightmare is the Survival Multiplayer Mode. It's one of my most played activities and I can't stop thinking about it to this day.

This is just a goofy spin-off and it is better than 90% of games put out that are ZOMBIE-CENTRIC. Amazing.

Thats zombie is a Lady you meet in a Stranger Mission in the normal game! All those "cutscenes" of a zombie poping up and then talking is characters that cannonicaly died in the normal game. Its a fun little touch.
I thought it would be stupid at first, not a fan of zombie games and the original story was amazing, but it was damn good. Wish it was longer in fact.
I know you can roam and play as zombie John for a bit, but the main premise was actually pretty awesome. Timeline was perfect as well.
Isn't Zombie John basically the permanent postgame free roam state? You can't play as normal John anymore after beating Undead Nightmare

This DLC is awesome. It still holds up well today, been playing it again recently. Makes me happy to see other people playing one of my favourite games 🤙

This dlc is very memorable and generally fantastic
its honestly the best standalone DLC ever made to date, i reckon. i 100%'d RDR1 three times over and then the undead nightmare dlc three times over also. one of my favourite games ever made

There is technically a separate disk for the game.I don't really recommend playing Undead Nightmare on the GoTY standalone disk. A recent update that was made around 2016 has rendered the game pretty much unplayable. Due to a gamebreaking bug that makes it impossible to play the game. Unkillable undead, unwinnable overruns, inability to clear cities and graveyards and the base game meshing with the dlc resulting in the undead becoming civilian npcs and spawning headless undead that can't be killed.

It's such a shame and a missed opportunity for rockstar that they didn't made an undead nightmare dlc for rdr2.. undead nightmare is such a unique game.. it has a special place in gaming history because there is simply no other game quite like undead nightmare.. this is what a perfect dlc looks like

I stayed home from school to play this game when it came out! I remember beating it in one sitting. The one thing that blew me away was how the zombies changed right before your eyes in real time.
I remember getting rdr1 game of the year edition it came with undead nightmare and well I loved it, the characters dont take the zombies seriously but when it comes to the open world I was scared so much of running around on foot because the zombies would scream in such a disturbing way that made me think they're not normal zombies.

I remember we got this game as part of a 2 pack with the original game. I was obsessed with L4D so I immediately went for the zombie game first. I had no idea who john was or even what the world of red dead was. I played through the whole thing and then I played RDR and weirdly enough it added more significance to the main story after I had played through both
I was so excited to replay this game I remember I bought it a while back tried to play and just got a weird black screen and occasionally it’d pop on the screen for a split second then go back to black never got to replay it was kinda bummed but I’m happy to see it still being played

This game was hard ! The scarce ammo plus the mandatory head shots to get rid of them really did put you under some pressure. Rockstar did an awesome job off this game. I loved it so much. They surely should have made an other one for the prequel.
I recently started playing Undead Nightmare again with the wife and she's never experienced it. I used to play it back in the day but it had the old headless broken save bug.
I remember there being a burning horse, and this long cavern-like area chalk-full of Z's. Riding the burning horse, I enjoyed riding through and settin' them ablaze.
This is the game that made 12 year old me conquer my fear of zombies. There was just something about it that made me want more, even though I was actually terrified of any enemies I encountered for the first little while of playing. I'd hide on roofs and just take potshots, then I got real good at popping off headshots. Eventually I was running up and executing zambo's left and right. Ever since I've been a total zombie head.
I remember spending countless hours playing this game on xbox360. Good times! Also, I'm pretty sure you have deadeye from the start. You should use it more often
Absolutely loved this DLC. Rockstar had something similar planned for GTAV.. but they scrapped it to focus on online… some of the vehicle models they made for it were added to online. The most obvious is an RV that is armored up.. and has bloody hand prints on the outside.
Played this again last year, and was still great. Only complaints were all the glitches that were never fixed (i.e. people and zombies with no heads, and missions that don’t complete)
Unbelievable how good this games looks out, it was 2010 release for PS3 and Xbox360!
What I also find strange is how things in the background / distance seem to hold up even better than your immediate surroundings. Usually the need for aggressive LoDs that era made distant areas look much more plain.
Like on the one hand the characters / lighting indoors some places looks a little dated, but the vast open desert sunset looks a whole console generation ahead.

there are other horses you can get, if i remember correctly there are the "four horses of the apocalypse" and each has varying stats that make it better than the others.
I replayed red dead about 2 months ago and was so happy going into undead nightmare again, only to constantly be plagued by the headless zombie glitch every 5-10 minutes 😢

I owned Undead Nightmare on disc long before I had the actual game. I had already played and beaten the main game through rentals, and asked my mom for Undead Nightmare while we were at a Wal-Mart one day, thinking that it was the full game plus the DLC. I was wrong, but I still had a blast with it.

Honestly one of the best DLC’s I’ve ever played, especially for the time.
The music was one of the best things about Undead Nightmare. Too bad on console when I played it for a few years all the zombies and people appeared headless it was unplayable.
undead nightmare was DLC done right, like full game add-on with a completely different story line to deal with in a reimagined reality, my favorite part was probably tracking down the 4 horses of the apocalypse :p

As much as I love this game, the controls and handling were really... something. And this is one of the good ones, I don't know how I managed during that generation of games.
It’s really weird playing these older games and not realizing how bad/janky the controls were compared to now
I played RDR on my PS3 for the first time 3 years ago after completing RDR2 a few times. I noticed this the most about it and it made it difficult to get through. It took me over a month of playing a little and coming back to it a few days later to finish the game rather than immersing myself because the controls were so bad. I only played the first 20 minutes of Undead Nightmare but might give it another try after watching this.

@@AUSDANGERlol you are really exagging a lot. Its the exact same controls as every other rockstar game, just less smooth thats all. But John controls less Tanky than arthur does and way quicker
@@AbuHajarAlBugatti I was meaning more the mechanics of embarking/disembarking the horse, the menu system, shooting, tracking missions, etc. Just felt far less refined. For me It's noticeably a game from a couple of generations ago. I wasn't over exaggerating lol
I played OG read dead when I was 9 and later discovered this game on my shelf when I was around 10 but never got past the first mission as I was way too terrified as a child

Bruv let him discover that stuff on his own. Big dlc spoilers, part of what makes those encounters fun is discovering them yourself for the first time. Not having someone spoil it for you.

@Dubious GM Okay, and that's you. That's okay for you to do personally, I not so fondly remember the days of Mass Effect 1 and NEEDING a guide for the damn resource locations on planets lmao.
But when it comes to someone else playing the game for the first time, you don't know how they play or explore things. So it's better not to spoil them of potential things that would make them have fond memories of the experience. For some, it isn't an enjoyment if you don't experience it yourself.
I would fight zombies all day long, but sadly i have terminal lumbago 🤷
I remember seeing Undead Nightmare discs in the discount game section a year or two after the game came out. It was like $5 and I have no idea why I didn't buy it back then.
One of the best DLCs for a game ever, it's so damn good.

God was the gunplay so good in RDR1. That first shot on uncle still hits the same way
I played this when it came out and again recently. I NEVER noticed that zombie Jack chases Rufus in the beginning.
My favourite DLC of all time. Infact, I enjoyed this more than the original storyline. Also probably the best RP zombie game too
The undead was so much fun! It’s sad they didn’t make a second one for rdr2, the graphics and mechanics would’ve been crazy

This was so bizarre to play as a kid, this was my first RDR game. Didn't even know the gang and cowboy gameplay back then. Very spooky and The Land of the Dead game too,
