i was just wondering, when you use the avalon u5 do you record with the bass amp and the u5 together? and if so, do you mic the bass amp to record into the daw or do you just record the di signal from the u5 ?
Hi! I recorded the U5 (DI) and the amp separately. This was the signal chain: Bass -> Avalon U5 (1 output to my fireface 802) and the other output to my amp. I recorded the amp inside my Box of Doom iso cab with a t.bone rb500 and a sennheiser e906. Beside the recording of the amp I recorded the strings of the bass as well.
