I just can't help myself but end up with Peter Steele vibe songs! (Also a strong My Dying Bride vibe)
This time a more classic slow doomy track, with clear deep vocals. I tried letting the music lead a bit more on this track, ending with a nice dark atmosphere...
Process:
- Describe my personal mood and generate a song piece by piece with AI
- Describe what i envision in my head when i hear the song and generate artwork with AI
- Animate that artwork with AI
- Edit it into an abstract music video
To be clear: this is the result of me spending some time and playing with several AI's. There is NO substitute for the real Type-O-Negative, you know that and i know that!

Pete was a friend of mine. I played with Typo many times. He was a good dude. I really miss him.
And here i go calling myself lucky i've seen them live! He got taken away from us way too soon.

I don't think Peter would be happy to hear that someone made a tribute for type o with AI
I just hope he would be proud he is still inspiring and is loved by so many people today!
@@M4rtle Inspiring is one thing. Plenty of Noir bands who put in the time to learn the art. This isnt art. Its theft. I hope you can one day see how insulting this is to the artist. Not very many true Type O fans on this page. Just wanna be posers. Not very surprised.
@neilolsen342 You see generative AI polarizing the crowd into 2 camps: People accepting and even embracing the technology and people claiming its pure theft. I guess you fit in the latter camp. We saw the same thing happening in generative AI pictures and now video. We also saw the same thing happening when synthesizers were first introduced. People were yelling hell and fire that you didn't need to learn instruments anymore but could just press a key. Another example was the introduction of drum triggers...That discussion still sparks alot of people into angry.
I can understand your opinion, but i also firmly believe that generative AI will be generally accepted in the nearby future. It's maturing at lightning speed.
I choose to embrace music in any form it comes in (i also drum, play piano and guitar), that includes the generative AI. It allows me to create tracks that very closely fit my personal music taste, as i am in the driver seat of the whole track creation. So i end up with tracks that sound good to me, but also feel very personal. I do not wish to exploit this in any way, im in no way monetized. I just wish to share what sounds good to me, in the hopes it might sound good to some others too. Music is always a very personal experience. I drop them as Type-B-Negative as they reminded me of the great Type-O-Negative. Its doom/gothic sounding, has a clean deep male vocal and the AI voices always have this reverb/echo sound to them (instantly giving me Type-O-Negative vibes).
We cannot stop generative AI (or AI as a hole), the faster we embrace the technology and allow it to empower our creative process, the better we'll all feel (instead of thinking it'll completely take over). I can perfectly see generative AI taking a spot in an artists creative process, if it even were to just only spark idea's, or get more people into the music creation/genre. Hearing some of these tracks could even inspire the next Peter Steele to pick up a microphone thinking 'i can do this better'.
You seem very offended by these tracks, so lets end with the start of a quote from the great green man himself: "If it doesn't upset people,...."
@@M4rtle I want to chime in and voice my SUPPORT of AI Metal. I just recently got into it, and yeah, it seems there are a lot of people who call it theft and are quick to dismiss it. But ive discovered some JAW DROPPING AI Metal songs lately, and i wish i could sit down with an AI hater and play the songs for them...only not telling them beforehand that its AI, just to see their reaction. Im betting they would be headbanging to the songs in no time. Good music is good music, and right now AI is outdoing real bands, at least for me.

Now, this is amazing. I have been a fan of Typo O for as long as I can remember. I agree with many comments that Pete's sad death was way before his time and a great loss to the music genre. No doubt you will hear much more from me now, my new friend.

Peter was an entirely complex personality and it reflected in his music and lyrics. Something which can never be replicated inorganically. Some of the attempts are pretty entertaining though.

I dont have it in sheet music, but i can get you a stem where vocals/drums/bass are filtered out (if that helps). Surely there are AI's out there that can transcribe it to tabs!
Ai is getting out of hand with this fake metal. Bands playing real instruments is the Way of Metal talent.
It's just a fun tool to mess around with. I don't think it will ever replace real artists as people will still want a live experience. I see it take a place as a steady tool in the creational/inspirational process of an artist/band.
BTW: i also play real instruments!

Music will always polarize people, there are people that will love it and hate it. These songs also tend get a third category: people who dislike anything AI.
