      No HT-A9? Sony market is a soundbar

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  2 года назад +2

      @@clixt984 In terms of the Soundbar category, The HT-A7000 is Sony's flagship Dolby Atmos bar. The A9, however, is in a completely different category all itself as more of an "alternative" to the soundbar form-factor. We are considering another video on this category. What are your thoughts on that topic? Thanks for watching.

      @@AudioAdvice I think that's fair to say. I think Sony started a new class of sound equipment if you ask me. It's no longer a soundbar, but it's also not a full AVR system. I just got my HT-A9 and I can say that it's pretty damn good for what it is, especially the phantom center.

    I have the Q950A and the 85"QN800A I connected the Q 950a to my older 65" 4K mu800 Samsung TV without Q Symphony first. It was very good for movies, but connecting it to the newer model with Q Symphony took things to another level entirely. Gaming is honestly a cacophonous assault on your ears. Playing Halo 5 there is just always something going on in some corner of the room it was honestly a different experience. There is no way for me to turn it up pass 35, it's entirely too loud. The base is good but a little one note. The system could honestly benefit from a software update that would allow you to add a second subwoofer, there's a pretty severe drop off on one side of my room that opens up to the kitchen and down a hallway. For reference our home theater has an sb16 Ultra, I don't always have to go down into the theater room to watch a movie this thing does a pretty decent job. One thing to know if you connect it to a Samsung TV, that little stupid screen they put on the top it's far less of an issue than if you don't have a Samsung TV. Overall worth the money for people already in the Samsung ecosystem. If not I'd probably go with the Klipsch Cinema 1200.

      I recently bought the HW-Q950A for my Samsung 85" Q90T(2020). It took few time to get it setup with my TV. After firmware update it work flawless. Tested on Netflix/amazon Dolby Atmos. It worked very well. But I have not fully tested on my xbox one x yet. But overall I'm stoked to the q950a.

    • @4fastdrs
      @4fastdrs 2 года назад +1

      @@isidoropulido8661 I paid 1150 for mine, it was an open Box, When I brought it home and set it up there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, I think the person probably returned it because of that stupid screen on the top of the soundbar. which for the life of me, I can't figure out what Samsung was thinking. But yes even at $1,299 I think this is an excellent system for those with list Samsung TVs. I only very occasionally wish I was watching something in the theater room. And if you don't have Theater room to compare, you will not feel like you're missing out on anything.

    Hey, I tried looking back through your catalog to see if you had a video that addressed this, but it would be nice if you did a video dedicated to how Atmos enabled soundbars should be configured for non-standard/asymmetrical theater room setups. In my case, I'm dealing with the TV facing out from the corner of a large room with 30 degree vaulted ceilings.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  2 года назад

      Great question. It will totally depend on how adjustable the level settings are on the sound bars. The ones with automatic room correction would be your best bet for a room like you have. If you get one without and can adjust the levels of the Atmos and/or surround speakers, just experiment with level (and distance if it has it) to get the best effect.

    I’m torn between Sonos Arc and Sony HT-A7000. I have a Sony a80j. I don’t see many reviews comparing the two. The ht-a7000 is more compatible with my tv, but I wouldn’t be expanding to buy a sub with it anytime soon. Is Sonos Arc better for movies as standalone or will Sony sounds better and more optimised with the tv?

    Hi I have Sony iv300 which have good bass. But can't hear dialogue clearly because of the overpowered bass. I am looking for a sound bar which will provide excellent dialogue clarity at the same time no compromise in the bass (need Thumping bass like iv 300).Can u suggest one?

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  Год назад

      All of the ones in this video have great dialog. That is the main thing we look for first in a sound bar. You could also try moving your sub further away from room boundaries or even try a different location for it. That can make a huge difference in how the bass sounds.

  • @walidhannaoui1802
    @walidhannaoui1802 Год назад

    I just don’t understand how these higher end soundbars have no eq on them. I mean my 100$ Vizio m series 2.1 has a functional eq for bass, subwoofer, treble, and dialogue. I want to upgrade especially since I’m moving to a bigger space but these things are not only huge but some lack some basic functionality that should be essential at this price point.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  Год назад

      Many of them use a microphone either in the bar or on your iPhone to measure the room and make far more complex adjustments to fine tune the speaker to the room than just bass and treble. Automatic room eq has gotten really good and makes a huge difference in most spaces. Hope this helps and thanks for watching

      It depends on their usage. If you are looking for immersive audio for watching television then a great soundbar is going to be the best because you have HDMI from the television to the soundbar and it will play immersive audio using different left, right, center and other channels. If you want something for playing music to pretty loudly in a party of playroom that is also able to be transported, then Partybox.
