Forgiveness for this woman is up to God. I can't understand why she thinks she deserves freedom.
It's quite simple. Did the poor tortured victims get a second chance? It warms my heart that this savage got these degrees for free while so many out there cannot afford that luxury. They're going to set her up teaching her how to use a cell phone. atm, etc. Perhaps take a homeless person off the street who didn't savagely murder a woman claiming it felt like an orgasm and help them out. Impress me by giving Leno and Rosemary's life back as well but they can't do that. Pull the pain from their children/family had to live with imagining how much their parents suffered that night at the hands of these savages. It amazes me how many privilege's these monsters got in prison and how messed up the corrupted justice system is.
I agree people act like we want blood society forgave her when she got off death row. As regarding the homeless, we should help them out they may steal for hunger , alot have mental illness and they are always forgotten except for Christmas. No homeless person, I've heard killing people.
So its her stellar prison record that impressed the parole board? She had to do right in prison because she was locked up, she couldn't go on a murderous rampage while in prison. She has already proven what she is capable of while free. Rosemary, you were a beautiful woman.
She did her time and paid her debt to society, also she got herself educated, let her do the rest of her freedom in peace. People with the same mindset as yours should be the ones locked up instead you spew hate. You must be a Trump supporter, yeah make America great with all your negativity and hate.
She's only 73. She could possibly live FREE for another FORTY YEARS! The government will be taking care of her (that means all of us who killed nobody ) So she will have a nice relaxing retirement without having to work. Let that sink in.
I wonder what it's going feel like holding a knife for the first time in 50 years. Huh Leslie ? If that's still your name! She was more helpful as a teacher in her endeavors to help the prisoners. I never thought her sentence should have been commuted from the electric chair to life with the possibility of parole! They skipped life without the possibility of parole . The more appropriate sentence!
I was 18 and lived in Los Angeles when the Manson Murders happened. Since they were originally sentenced to death, life in prison without parole would have been the completely appropriate. I have been haunted by The Manson Family ever since. Now she'll have to see what God has to say about her evil actions.
And no one gets sentenced for 53 years for stabbing a dead body. If this wasn't a high profile case associated with Charles Manson, she would have been released Decades ago.
@@t-ellie794 I have a small circle of friends. We’re all former Lifers. We’re all out, have pretty good jobs, Pay our taxes, and are doing it right this time.
How is she going to make a positive contribution to society at her age as stated by her attorney? I don't think she will. At 73 you don't start anything. Only if she was completing some contribution started earlier in life.
Being 73 isn't a reason to think a person is too old to start a new chapter in life. My dad is 85 and still working! Some people just love being active. My pop says having a reason to get up every morning makes him feel alive. Van Houten doesn't have to go sit in a rocking chair just because she's 73. Elderly people have a lot to contribute, they have aquired wisdom through the years. I think elderly people don't get enough respect. Keep in mind, I'm speaking in general . This woman committed a horrific crime, so it is debatable whether she should be allowed to start a new chapter. ...
@@prophetba I didn't mean that you quit at that age. It would be hard to start a new venture. Maybe she should learn to quilt. That would be a contribution without the influence of her friends behind bars.
Ironic and infuriating....I heard she took college courses while in prison? On the government's dime? I can't help but think back on the fourteen years it took ME to pay back my student loans. (Gosh, maybe I shoulda held up a bank) My hunch is that given the real world she will be coming back into.....and the adjustments she's going to have to make at her age? Finally...the huge steamer trunk of her own horrific history? She won't last too long on the outside...
even though shes old and model prisoner, she shouldnt get another chance her victomes didnt and she did get a chance when she avoided the death penaltys, this was a horable murder spree
There should be no excuse that she is a "changed woman." She should have to serve out her sentence no matter what but sadly these ppl escaped the death penalty. Our justice system failed the victims
Sooo many comments! This things are deeply analyzed by experts who have the authority to decide. Not by RUclips users who think they have the answer to everything.
She should never feel freedom she lost that with the murders she participated in that hasn’t gone away why does her crime go away… lol rehabilitated or not she committed the crime
I am very pleased this woman has been given her freedom. She paid her dues. If you research her involvement, you might agree. I've been obsessed with this "story" since I was a kid. Sadie deserved to die in prison, Leslie does not. There are people these days who do much worse things and don't suffer nearly the same consequences. She was 19.... she is now 73.... I wish her the very best of luck in a world that is so outside the realm of her comprehension.... we all suffer in different ways.
Van Houten showed in 1969 what she's made of. No college degree or rehab program is going to change what she's made of. Her release back into society is utterly foolish.
A model prisoner is one who accepts their punishment. For example David Berkowitz AKA son of sam doesn't attend parole meetings "He doesn't think it's fair to families " I don't know he's tuned to Christ but I can only see his actions.
I've personally known a woman like that one before, and I'm still baffled as to how she ever beat the murder rap. Anyways, luckily for the community , they had her committed to an asylum. Believe me, these types of people are as unstable and unpredictable as hell, and should never be exposed to the public. All I can tell you is that the last thing you would want to do is to turn your back on those people.
The big question that should have come from the review board is; If someone came into your compound to stab one of your members to death, would you let them go free? 'Well...Charlie thinks that they're reablitated and wants to let them go'. I think that he would have mangled them to bits. I think that the victims family wants to do the same to her.
For the moment, that murdering savage was given a three year probation which means that she must reside in California during the duration. Following that, I would highly doubt that any other state would be willing to offer her residency as she would be a menace to everyone concerned.
Everyone has a choice to do the right thing.. To live well and look out for others. So, to go out and commit these despicable murders, with or without being under the influence of drink/drugs, they knew what they were doing. Age is irrelevant.. Still old enough to know it was wrong. Poor victims who never got to see the light of day again.. Our planet is riddled with dishonest and brutal people, living among us. Sad state of affairs.
That's exactly right. Actually, there's just no telling how stable anyone with mental issues will be at any given moment. Trust me, one can never turn their back on those people without the risk of being stabbed, gored, axed or hammered to death.
Can we talk about the music in the beginning though? 😂😭😭 what in the hip hop remix is that intro? Loved it tbh 😫 made me laugh. Seriously though, I’m mad they released her.
She pulled 53 years, that is life. She is old and may not make it in the outside world. If she's not a threat to society, then what difference does it make? She pulled her time. She is basically let out to die.
It would be better for you to make a positive contribution to society. Stop worrying about a woman who wouldn't have hesitated to break into your home and bump you off. Not all people are capable of rehabilitation.
She has come out of prison pretty well set for life financially because she like the others have profited off her notoriety. If i was Leslie to show respect for the victims families id live my life out quietly and try to make a difference in the world. Not give anymore interviews and no book deals. Leave them in piece and not bring this horrible incident back into the public eye.
I'm kinda conflicted about this. When she did her horrible crime she was a 19 year old kid now she's a 73 year old woman! I'm 67 and a totally different person in every way than I was when I was 19 ! I can tell you from my experience that people can and do Change. The person they just released is not the person they locked up 50 plus years ago I don't know about punishment, judgement, or justice! I'm not wise enough or arrogant enough to think I know the truth about such things. When we listen to our better Angels we realize that Mercy is always critically important! I don't know if it's right or wrong to let her go? I'll leave that to a higher power! But I don't have a problem with this I wish her well
People change? Seriously? The only person in history to change was the Apostle Paul on the road to Demascus. Van Houten is a murderer. They butchered those people in their own homes. And for what reason?
WHY? She’s a murderer there are young kids to this day that 3:55 get sentenced to life and they’re not going to be released. Why should she? Is it because of nostalgia let’s get real people she’s a murderer she did horrific things to the person
Yeah…pretty sure she’s done with killing….Charlie is dead, not here to brainwash anyone. Unless the CIA decides to experiment on her and mess her mind up like they did with Charlie.
I'm glad she got released. She has served far more time then other murderers that have been released serving less time. The fact she was connected to the name Manson is why I think she was not paroled before. She is fully rehabilitated, has been a model prisoner, she is not a danger to society either.. She deserves her freedom.

Sharon Tate's baby deserves his 53 years. This isn't about revenge you do a heinous crime and you say you're a model prisoner then you do your time. I can think of an example the Son of Sam aka David Berkowitz. He has stated he's hurt too many people he doesn't attend his parole meetings. My cousin murdered someone do I have the right to tell that victims family it's been 30 years let it go. Hell no I also had a male cousin who just turned 30 years old and he was murdered while being robbed and miss out of holding his 3rd baby because his wife was pregnant with their daughter.
You sound original devs. Just like everyone else on here. She stabbed one person. What makes you a saint may I ask.
I don't care how old she is now and how she isn't a threat to society Sharon Tate never got the chance to grow old!!°
She wasn't part of those murders
Thank u
@@connieblackford5267 so true but she was super jealous the others went as she said on tape which anyone can watch.
So its her stellar prison record that impressed the parole board? She had to do right in prison because she was locked up, she couldn't go on a murderous rampage while in prison. She has already proven what she is capable of while free. Rosemary, you were a beautiful woman.
Some of the most intelligent people in the world were murderous pricks.
She made 15 mil in prison writing about her fun times murdering. Yes, she did. Disgusting.
Wrong on so many levels.
No, no son, name 4 of the levels
I wonder what it's going feel like holding a knife for the first time in 50 years. Huh Leslie ? If that's still your name!
She was more helpful as a teacher in her endeavors to help the prisoners.
I never thought her sentence should have been commuted from the electric chair to life with the possibility of parole!
They skipped life without the possibility of parole . The more appropriate sentence!
Im sure she held a knife in prison whilst eating her meals there over the past 53 years
Shes out, but is she really free??
I was 18 and lived in Los Angeles when the Manson Murders happened. Since they were originally sentenced to death, life in prison without parole would have been the completely appropriate. I have been haunted by The Manson Family ever since. Now she'll have to see what God has to say about her evil actions.
Ok Karen
She still should still be in prison
She won't last long on the outside.
Agree
Wouldn't care in the least if she has become so institutionized, she can't make it, and does herself in.
So are you threatening an elderly lady? My money says your black.
@@AncientofdayswarriorI dont know about that but she sure ain’t Christian
@@Ancientofdayswarriorwhat has being black have to do with this. Please explain. WHAT?
She still served more time than what people currently guilty of murder. Not saying it's right but most don't get more than 20 years anymore
And no one gets sentenced for 53 years for stabbing a dead body. If this wasn't a high profile case associated with Charles Manson, she would have been released Decades ago.
I served 15 years for murder in California.
@@amys2760 go tell this to the enraged blood thirsty keyboard warriors, I wanna see them spend 1 day in prison
@sakalabolsita6316 see.. Definitely less time, even less time than for a drug related offense.
She shouldn't be allowed to. She shouldn't even be given the chance too.
@@dangilmore9995😘😘😘Write something witchy, hun..
These tragic families are trying to rebuilt their trust and letting go of their fears and pain over decades....and now THIS happens 😢
Agree....Unless she can bring back people from the grave she hasn't changed a thing
she got 7 to life her not death
She should have never gotten out
Sooo many comments!
The sane woman has to pay for what the crazy woman did. Life without. Case closed.
I'll bet when she sees what the world has become after 50 years , she just wants to go back in prison.
You're correct, thanks for posting the reality .
Hahaa right? 😂 parole? No im good
She's going to be in for a rude awakening then! Ha ha ha. If she were smart she'd move far far away from the crime scone, like getting lost in Mexico!
I doubt it just being able to walk free and have peace and quiet in your own space
@@rubydawn1 people will recognize her even if she changes her name. If i were her I'd be more scared of others knowing who I am
Van Houten showed in 1969 what she's made of. No college degree or rehab program is going to change what she's made of. Her release back into society is utterly foolish.
Van Houten , get her another 🎉 53 years 😑
Why don’t you go for a 53 years ?
Its Disgusting that they let her out. 😠👎💩😒👎😳
LSD+bad people, many good people did horrible things under the influence of LSD and horrible influences.
Ridiculous. My parents took it and were musicians and never hurt anyone.
@@shadowboxer3583 Reading comprehension?
She hasn’t aged well, for someone who is just sat in prison. Should have left her there.
Yeah i think her 12 month gym subscription expired.... 🤡
A killer lose in USA. Some News!😂
A model prisoner is one who accepts their punishment. For example David Berkowitz AKA son of sam doesn't attend parole meetings "He doesn't think it's fair to families " I don't know he's tuned to Christ but I can only see his actions.
Sound about right. - Jack the Ripper.
A life sentence is just that. She needed to stay behind bars for life!
U N B E L I E V A B L E !!!!!
Let her get a taste of the real world. After all that time in prison it will kill her
I believe it!
She won't last long on the outside.
That savage should never have been rewarded with release!
She’s still blaming someone else.
The big question that should have come from the review board is; If someone came into your compound to stab one of your members to death, would you let them go free? 'Well...Charlie thinks that they're reablitated and wants to let them go'. I think that he would have mangled them to bits. I think that the victims family wants to do the same to her.
Just like Patricia Hearst. She'll live rest of her life behind her rich family home.
Her parents are dead by now. If she has siblings like her they're old too. She's gonna be 80 in a few years so she doesn't have much time to live!
@@cooper7031 More than she gave the LaBiancas
How is she doing?
If shes. Released they beed to get her out of California to another state shes dangerious
For the moment, that murdering savage was given a three year probation which means that she must reside in California during the duration. Following that, I would highly doubt that any other state would be willing to offer her residency as she would be a menace to everyone concerned.
cage the beast.
People don't really give a fuck about each other anyway so don't complain about Leslie
Well she went from murder to 50 years in prison she can not be all there.
5 decades? She must be exhausted! 😞
She should've never been released out of prison in the first place !
She pulled 53 years, that is life. She is old and may not make it in the outside world. If she's not a threat to society, then what difference does it make? She pulled her time. She is basically let out to die.
Ur rite.
Nobody wants her to make a positive contribution to this society. A lot of sad people out there tonite
Thank u. U sure put it straight out
Well tell that to family on the other side. They don’t want her release and are reliving the nightmare…
WHY? She’s a murderer there are young kids to this day that 3:55 get sentenced to life and they’re not going to be released. Why should she?
Is it because of nostalgia let’s get real people she’s a murderer she did horrific things to the person
Let her live with one of her supporters , so when she kills again , they knew it was coming ,,
Yeah…pretty sure she’s done with killing….Charlie is dead, not here to brainwash anyone. Unless the CIA decides to experiment on her and mess her mind up like they did with Charlie.
GOOD ONE!!!
I'm glad she got released. She has served far more time then other murderers that have been released serving less time. The fact she was connected to the name Manson is why I think she was not paroled before. She is fully rehabilitated, has been a model prisoner, she is not a danger to society either.. She deserves her freedom.
Leslie🙏🙏🙏
Any money Leslie makes should go to the victims families.
I'm glad she's out... 53 years is WAY more than most people get for killing their own child.
Well, when you lose a loved-one the way those victim's families did, you'll change you moronic criminal-loving attitude.
She did murder Sharon so a lot of people will recognize hag Leslie (lesbian) in society! Let's see how well she adjusts to modern technology!

She spent over 50 years in prison. She earned a bachelor and a master degree. The correctional facility should be about rehablitation instead of vengeance.
It seems that most people, at least the ones who comment on social media sites like this, want her blood. No mercy. Turn the other cheek or an eye for eye? Who is right?
I think she deserves her freedom. Her sentence was 7 years to life with possible parole.
The Parole Board in California.
She won't last long on the outside.
Some of us still remember the brutally of her crime!
No prison doesn't make up for the victims but to protect society from deviants.
