I hate the lack of server browser in this game, especially when the original has a server browser and the physics feel weirdly different from the original release, but I can imagine this always having atleast a small player base. It's the last gears release to feel classic gears
When gears 3 died and we were waiting for gow 4 I had the time of my life w this game it was beautiful lots of great players and non stop sweaty matches for years
It is a shame to see multiplayer pillars like Gears of War and Halo to be completely dead. No stupid messages demanding you to use certain social media apps, no stupid political messages or obnoxious cosmetics. I wish we could get more of these games again but that is not going to happen because they are being developed by mongs.
You can find matches in mcc pretty consistently if you in NA,in EU that’s a different story at least in terms of btb and if your sbmm is kinda high. Gears 4 pretty much the same story and Gears 5 has a decent amount of players. Sure,those games aren’t as popular as they were previously(mostly because of the moneysoft goofing around with their franchise’s)but hey they aren’t “dead”
if it wasnt bought by Microsoft it would jave thrived. there was talks of having it on ps4 only a few years back but microsis choosing to run all its licenced titles into the floor. i think they are refusing to make gears 6 because the backlash over the stupid single player direction essentially ripping off the worm from gears 2 it was like the star wars sequels all over again and making it the same exact story except this time its a girl and a black guy and a robot as the main leads they even made the white guy jd into a bad guy hahaha. talk about pushing away your actual fan base. its heartbreaking gears is an incredible frachise.

Playing this is 2024, and as an achievement hunter, I can tell you that any game you assume to be dead can surprise you. I played The Division like 2 years ago, and it still has an incredibly active player group, I did Doom 2016 in 2020
Especially for consoles thats true. Older games on pc are so dead but for some reason on console the most random old games have active lobbies all the time

Taking a break from Gears 3 because a couple weeks ago a Savage Kantus completely sponged a direct hit from my incendiary grenade 🔥 it didn’t do shit. I said or nah that’s bullshit I’m taking a long break from gears 3. Game devs never fixed (or removed) all the broken hit box sponge characters. Lazy ass fucks.
This one was probably my favorite multiplayer ever, unfortunately no one plays it anymore that’s why we need Marcus fenix collection to bring all the og fans back
Whats bad about lack of players for older games is that some gamemodes doesnt have players. A example: Most BF5, BF4, BF1 servers are conquest. Theres lot of cool modes but they lack players Such as bf4 carrier assault

The Coalition flopped hard by not adding bots in theory to keep the game alive to an extent Hopefully the Gears 2/3 remasters that have been rumored are to be realised

I don't have an Xbox anymore, so I'm heavily reliant on PC servers when it comes to Gears now. As far as the PC version is concerned this game is so dead multiplayerwise. You'll have better luck buying a CD key for the Windows Vista version of the original Gears of War and finding a few servers on there on weekends...That or there's still players on Gears 4 or 5 but I know most of the Gears fanbase hates those games so...they need a Gears Trilogy Remaster...it's rough being a Gears fan on PC dude lol
Bruh, you have opposite feeling of everyone else about gears 4 and 5. Gears 4 shotgun feels really strong and gears 5 shotgun is broken. Lancer is uneffective until someone takes target on the same enemy you are shooting at but the gun by itself is useless. I've been playing gears 5 day 1 and just after the first lancer nerf im never be able to down someone with the gun. (Also the broken netcode doesnt help)
Gears 4 shotgun is great I shouldn’t have grouped it with 5 . I thought 5s was weaker from what I played (didn’t play it a ton after first 2 months) but maybe it’s changed since
@@About36Greeks you saved your own sanity by not playing the mp of gears 5. It was a roller coaster of failures with each weapon update. And with the last tweak they did to the netcode, you get a lot of "fake" shots (you shoot clear someone at 1ft but the game takes it like a miss, but he shoot at you from 4 times the distance and you get killed when he miss into the air).
I don’t get why they didn’t add bots to this game…but they have them on judgement 🤦🏻♂️ doesn’t even make sense. I want to play this game forever please

Was able to find some matches instantly just today by following your method and switching to east. Full lobby super fun.
