- In this video I try 3D printed molds with metal interfaces (for the heat) and then try resin mixed with iron oxide. I was surprised by the result.

Seriously, thank you for what you do.
They work like magic 😌
Crafsman tells them bubbles that you ain't gotta go home, but you can't stay here.
They took consolation in the idea that every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end. ;)
@@TheCrafsMan nice Semisonic reference there Crafsman
I’ll be steady prayin for those results Crafsman. Stay positive everybody 😊
My man, thank you so much!
It only counts as failure if you give up on it, otherwise it's just trial and error!
Love you, Crafsman
And remember that if you record what you're doing, it's science!
I like to imagine that the surgery was a lint removal procedure.
And that he never FELT a thing. 😉
HA! I appreciate y'all's humor so much!!!!! :D
@@TheCrafsMan Always use yo' lint brush.
i bet the surgeon wore gloves too 🤣
May The Lord keep you safe and healthy🙏
Artie, thank you for the wonderful comment!
I accept that "every good and perfect gift comes from above" and am grateful for what God has given.
Just being able to do the things I enjoy, like this right here, is more than I could have hoped for. I appreciate you.
Hope the doctor finds nothing. Sending prayers your way.
I appreciate that so much.
@@TheCrafsMan you have no idea the amount of peace your videos bring me. With all this chaos in the world, your channel has become a place of refuge during these crazy times. 🙂
Bryan Kay same.
Hoping for a lot of steady crafting in your future sir.
Thank you so very much.
Hey CrafsMan I'm a model maker and I make Sci-fi resin kits the 1st video of yours I watched was the one about growing and shrinking molds and I have been enjoying your videos ever since. I have been making my kits for over 10 years now but watching your videos I have learned some new techniques from you so you can still teach an old dog some new tricks! Just want to say that your videos are much appreciated and hope you are doing well after your medical procedure take care man, Ray from Bronx NY.
Ray, this means a lot to me. Thank you SO much! Hope you're staying creative, my friend!
I caught myself narrating in the TheCrafsmans voice as I was cooking breakfast this morning. I love this channel and I'm praying for you.❤🙏
Praying doctor does not find anything bad, and for continued excellent health for you. You are an amazing person
Its not possible to watch the crafsman and be sad. Change my mind.
This is not an opinion, it is A FACT
“He still tryin’ to figure things out. He tryin’ to get his life right...get some type of employment, you see.” 🤣🤣 Crafsman, you help keep me happy! 😃
Someone is going to make a fortune with this content. I hope it's CrafsMan. All these videos are old so I dont know what happened. Hopefully he made it big and is making plastic toys in Costa Rica for fun with no worries.
Thanks for watching! :D
Crafsman is out here at the shop right now waiting on some silicone layers to cure on these sofubi molds. :) Still makin' toys.
The lineup of failed experimental aliens reminded me of a similar Sigourny Weaver scene in Alien 4
Yah instead of putting it in resin, let them do the pathology report 😂😂😂 .. Love you Crafsman (& mama). Prayers going up for best results 👌💯✌️
Oh & nicely done molds! Ty 👏👏👏
:) Thank you SO very much!
You inadvertently created a new character with that fist injection "smalll head alien" his name can be Alan :D
Yah that was sooo cool! Pinhead alien was cuteness 😆
That is exactly how anesthesia works, forreal. I had a tumor removed last year, luckily it wasn't cancer, hoping for the best for you as well. Love ya, Crafsman.
Oh no, Brother TCM. I'm getting my prayer wheels starting up for you. Please keep us posted on how you are doing. That was a genius idea for making a "metal mold" on a budget. I love the little cactus figures. I can't imagine how much fun you are having with your injection machine. You have some great friends all around the world who are wishing you well. I hope whatever they took out was all they needed to take. Stay positive, and I know you and yours have a direct line to the Big Man upstairs. We will be saying double the prayers for you, Brother TCM, every night. We love ya'll. God bless :)
Objectively The best channel ever!!!
My favorite RUclipsr uploaded, and I'm here within 10 minutes. The excelenticity of today is high!
4:40 OH Man. I just got transported absolutely instanty 25 years into the past seeing that school lunch plate. How many strong vivid memories were made in the school lunch room around these things then just suddenly they exited my life completely after elementary school? Lord have mercy.
"Can I have that and put it in some resin?" The Crafsman never stops craftin
"Nah, baby - we got to send that out for testin', you know" LOLS! I"m Dying!!!!
wow. my uncles like to tease me about when i was a kid, 3 or 4, and how i'd tell versions of that underwear joke, constantly. that was nearly 50 years ago. i guess classic comedy never gets old. be well CrafsMan and thanks for all the smiles.
We love you Crafsman, hope you're ok.
My kids loved this opening.
Glad you're doing fine craftsman we praying for you. You like the grandfather I never had ❤️
Craftsman here's a little trick to minimize flash;
If you remove (mill/grind) some of the material away from the closing surface you will Increase the closing pressure and thereby get less flash.
Leave 2-4 mm around the cavity and guidepins, and leave a little patch in each corner to avoid warping.
My man! I took an X-acto to some of the outer parts (you may be able to see where I cut the edges in the video), but I really like the idea of removing more material! It makes total sense, too. Going to do this! Thank you!
I was conjecturing that this would work. Thank you for confirming! I assume you know this from experience?
@@allyourcode i am a toolmaker with a core focus on micro injection molding and free form injection molding (FIM).
It's an well known trick to push a small machine a little further and to seal a worn mold.
@@TheCrafsMan you are welcome.
If you need some special plastic please let me know. I can get you samples of most things. What jumps to mind is recycled fish net(PA6), carbon or glass reinforced plastic, tpe (silicone like thermoplastic), tpe is super cool, it comes from 10 to 90 shore. The 10shore is unreal🙂
That surgery joke had me in stitches.
Get it?
I love the way you said, "See that right there?... That's magnetic" at 2:14
"ha, I made you say underweeeeaaaaghhhh"
Never change crafsman, you beautiful soul.
All the best from way down in Australia.
You have a lot of great toys. You sir, are an enabler.
Praying for good test results and for you and your family's peace of mind. Thank you for sharing your experience with us and the opportunity to lift you and yours in prayer and return a little of that love you share with us.
Much love, Crafsman. I hope those doctors come back with good news.
Hello..and welcome to the crafsman show...
CrafsMan you da best man. Honestly, you brighten my day and I learn things at the same time.
Very kind, my friend!
I just sent up a prayer for you Crafsman. You're in God's hands good man. Thanks for all you do sir.
Sorry to hear you had to go in for an op craftsman. Hope everythngs OK. Put your feet up and rest, don''t feel the need to post videos if you aren't feeling 100% . We need our craftsman fit and well , take it easy.
I love you Crafsman! Your subtle humor is not lost. You get me to actually lol. thank you.
You are good for the soul, craftsman.
I hope all is well, with your health.
Crafsman. I make jewellery with pewter and most wooden board will work fine as a pressure distributer when clamping silicone moulds even with higher temperatures. Hope your health improves. Keep crafin' !
Praying for good news and peace for you and your CrafsFam. Stay healthy CrafsMan.
I complimented someone on her lovely pair of earrings. "Thank you," she said, "They're my ovaries. I had to have them removed and I didn't want them to go to waste."
And to think poor Micarah Tewers couldn't even keep her wisdom teeth!
Sending you lots of healing vibes Crafsman. You’ve got this. 🍄🌸🦋
Glad the operation went well, and wish you a full and speedy recovery.
Crafsman I think if more people thought and acted like you the world would be a better place.
This video was not the content I was searching for, but I ended up watching the whole thing and subscribing just because I was enjoying it so much. lol
Glad to hear they got what they were lookin for. Crafnation loves you!
Crafsman is a mad scientist inspiration.
You can't see it except when you can
Words of wisdom as always !
I hope you're doing okay medical-wise Crafsman. Take care of yourself! Thoughts and prayers with you (since you seem to be the type of person who would like prayers.)

That whole exchange with the anesthesiologist made me laugh so hard that the bed was shaking and I thought I might wake up my SO
I absolutely loved the charming narration at 11:40. The bouncy family comedy music behind it gave me warm and fuzzies 💜 stay healthy friend.
this is the first video you have uploaded since I found your channel, and I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoy your videos!!!
Awesome video, yet again! Your videos are very inspiring to me, even though I don't even have a workshop, but I dream of one. And in addition, your videos are also very relaxing with great comedy in them as well! :)
Greetings from Finland,
Vesa
I forgot to watch this yesterday! But thats ok, nothing like the crafsman before class to get me ready for the day! Now ive got the motivation to do my best!
Me having meself some breakfast while watchin da craftsman show. Great ways to start da day. Love me some craaaftsman.
Awe Crafsman, I hope all went well for you. Sending positive vibes from Canada.
Apologies if you covered this somewhere later in the video than I've watched so far, but: placing vent holes in the extremities of the mold is standard practice for getting a complete fill (avoiding those air pockets). So, to get a complete fill on most occasions, you'd put a little pin-sized hole out to the left and right from each hand on the model and another one from the top of the head. Then, since the molder is manual, you would fill until you get a little plastic through each vent. Then, you'll get good models on more occasions.
'now altho summa deez thangs looke like whoop-dee-doooo...'

My favorite RUclips channel with anotha videeohh!!! Alright! Keep on steady postin!!!
I really want me a Crafsman music CD, them musical bits get me groovin
Sending good positive vibes your way Crafsman things Will be all good! Stay healthy, Stay Happy & Stay Blessed! 🙏🏻
I love your videos for the experimenting and mistakes you show. I think you learn most from mistakes, and sometimes they lead to invention. And it helps some people to know it don't always come out perfect for us either. Your the coolest
Luvs to you, crafsman! You be well, we need you!
I bet aluminum shavings would be great because they conduct heat much better… And wouldn’t allow the mold heat up/warp very much.
Also… If you look at “Project Farm“ RUclips channel… He tested all types of adhesive and JB Weld was unbelievably strong. I don’t use JB Weld often, but I was very impressed with his results.
I’ve made molds out of JB Weld in the past that needed to be cast under pressure… Or abused. It’s pretty tough stuff.
Thank you for this! I'm about to order some more metal powders and your comment prompted me to consider aluminum.
(I'm getting some steel to hopefully make some rusty 8-bit style robots. :D)
10:55 taking that mold apart.... cracked me up 🤣🤣
Great video buddy. Take care of yourself.
❤️ you, Crafsman. Hope you’re feeling better! Sending good mojo
Crafs man! You are amazing keep up being you, we all love and appreciate what you do!
Sending some happy thoughts your way, Crafsman. Take it easy these days, OK?
And I can definitely relate to wanting whatever they cut out of you in resin :D When I was a teen I got run over by a car. They put some screws in my ankle to hold it together while it healed. When they took them out, I asked if I could keep them. They gave me a little jar with the screw in them. That was 1998 - and I still have them!
Prayin all is well so you can keep on keepin on. Craft ony friend!!
Thinkin' of ya, Crafsman. Hope all goes well.
All the best CM, loving all the videos of resent!
You can also help remove bubbles (that create voids) in your mould by forming little wee "vents" where the bubbles can escape into. Just check out where you're getting bubbles stuck in your finished figures and mill a little channel coming off from there. It results in bit of extra flash or a small "tab" of plastic sticking off the figure you cast but you just trim it off like any other flash. Basically, you just make a little chamber for the bubbles to go hang out in so they don't mess up the nice thing you're making. :)
Welp, I pulled the trigger on buying my very first injection molding machine on eBay for a little over $300. I realized the stuff I want to start off with making is probably done with PP and not ABS, so I might be able to get away with making my molds from high temperature silicone or resin. Very excited to start this journey, and I wanted to say thank you Crafsman, for all your inspiration. I feel like your videos gave me enough knowledge to have the confidence to take the first step!
This is exciting! :D
I saw your other comment as well. Please email me and I will be happy to help: thecrafsman @ gmail.com.
Thank you!
Nice surprise to start my Sunday video watching, a fresh new Crafsman video! I hope all is well with your medical issue. 💜

🤣🤣🤣 “It’s what’s inside that you can’t see. But sometimes you can. “
Just laughing to tears my friend. I know exactly where your coming from. 🤣🤣🤣
That 1st unformed version reminded me of the android duplicate that was growing in the bed from The Last Starfighter.
Of course, also wishing you well Crafsman!
Mr. MEow! Always brings a smile to see one of your comments. Thank you so much!

I hope you are in good health Crafsman! Sending you well wishes!
Get well soon and I always love your content. Thanks.
"its what's on the inside that you can't see, but sometimes you can"
Those are actually some really wise words to be quite honest
Bro one way to improve the plastic flow into the mold is to pre-heat it just before injection.
For sure! I had to do this once with a cold metal mold, but it didn’t seem like it was necessary with the plastic one. However, you’ve got me wanting to try it. :D Thank you!
