Great lesson as always The harmonic analysis is especially useful Looking at chords this way is not something I'm accustomed to doing on my own Your chart diagrams are simply priceless tyvm
@@jazzguitarwithandy it (the harmonic analysis) is not the whole ball of wax cause I love the tune and have been dabbling in it but it's HUGE for me and your msg reminds me I need to watch this a few more times so it really sinks in
I grew up loving this song, and even named my Dad’s first boat “Sunny” after it. It was yellow ❤ now all these years later, and having YOU teaching it… it’s Faith and Fate this has happened. I’m so excited to elevate my guitar playing to where I can finally start feeling like a jazz musician again. I’m new to guitar but not jazz, and this just hits so many emotions for me. Thanks for this lesson Andy, I appreciate it
Nice Andy. Makes me think of Blue Bossa... except the key change is a little different I think the major is not the 4 chord in that. Searched and found you did a lesson on it... well the Db if tri and 7 could be the 5 so when the Db goes to the 2 chord the Db#9 is pretty cool after it

Thank you 🙏 I was tempted to start leaving out the harmonic analysis as I figured most just wanted the chords, good to know it's valuable 👍

It's a nice overview of the Sunny chords, Andy. Sweet L-7 too. Thanks for everything you do for the guitar community. Cheers! Lawrence (Montana, USA)

You're very welcome John. Thanks for the comment.
Hey hello Andy. Great lesson! A real classic song. Isn't this song another example where the melody is mostly coming from the pentatonic scale?
Thank you! Yes, you are correct about the melody :)
Another great video. Thank you.😊
Thanks for watching!

De nada. Gracias por tu comentario.

I’m so painfully slow at this instrument but your videos are very helpful. You are a fine teacher!
Very good concept: jazz theory combined with a song. Very well explained. Thank you, Andy!
Thank you - you're very welcome :)
Thanks!
Thank you - that's much appreciated 🙏
Brilliant lesson, thank you. Particularly the evolution of the jazz chord progession from the baic ‘pop’ chords. Will try this on my concertina !
Yes- it's interesting hear how jazzers changed it up!
