There's always someone complaining about the cover versus version nonsense. It's too different, they butchered the song, some might say, others say, it's too much like the original. Would it kill people for once to judge the performance and not the context? Cheers. Performance was pretty damn good and they took small creative liberties with instrumentation while leaving the song essentially the same. Which is probably a good idea when you're covering a beloved Australian classic. I'm all for critical thinking here, but good god, judge the performance, not bitch about what you wanted and didn't get.

Takes me back to the time I stopped by the Caxton after a Roar game to grab a six pack of Mangoes for the Uber home, and the lad behind the counter gave me a free Castlemaine Cranberry hat. I was so overcome with Euphoria that I had to go back to the forecourt of the mighty Fortress and show my Uncle Wally my new headwear. Like a jacaranda sunset, the sky parted into a perfect purple flash that you get from a routine brown-snake thunderstorm and I knew that someone, somewhere, was reliving the heart-wrenching feats of the Eight in a Row.
