For median you can just add the frequency together then do the formula n+1/2 using the total as n. Then whatever number you get you count how far into the table it goes for example it’s 5, it would be (for this table) 8 because that’s where the 5th number lies. :)
Yes, that is a good method to figure out the median. If there are an even number this method will give you the number between them. If there are an odd number, it will give you the one exactly in the middle. Thanks for the suggestion.
I am in grade 8 and I'm not really good at math and the whole mean, median and mode thing by putting them in charts or figuring out the answer .and u helped me a lot and instead of getting an f like the other test. I got an A so thank you
THANK YOU SOO MUCH😊. Firstly, I am in the 8 grade and I'm not really good at math so I found this very useful. My teacher isn't good at teaching math so this feels great to find someone who can. For years sometimes I felt like I have been struggling for not getting some terms in math... But because of you I can bump up my grades😁. Please continue to make these videos especially for the eighth graders going to highschool, this gives a thero teaching of how to do a frequency table including things you'll most likely be tested on!!! Btw thank you for leaving the "do it urself" kind of thing at the end, it really helps. (But you forgot to leave the answers😅)
How can the median be 7 in this case? While finding the median, you have to choose a figure that stands right in the middle of the row: 50% of figures should be lower and the rest 50% of them should be greater than the chosen figure. So the right answer here is 8.5. You can also apply the median-formula for even figures. Here: 1\2*(16\2+(16\2+1))=8.5
if you have graphing calculator like ti-84, then just plug in those number. ur will be done in less than a minute. 1. STAT-EDIT-ENTER 2. PUT SCORE IN L1 LIST AND FREQUENCY IN L2 LIST. 3. HIT STAT-CALC-(1:1-VAR STAT)-ENTER 4. LIST: L1 5. FREQLIST: L2 NOW HIT CALCULATE THERE MEAN= STANDARD DEVIATION= SCROLL DOWN YOU WILL SEE M= (THIS IS MEDIAN) AND SO ON HERE
If you mean the frequency is too large, I would still add up the frequency add 1 and divide by 2 to find the middle. Then you need to count up from the bottom or down from the top to that number.
What do I do if I have a range instead of a exact number. I have tried working out the midpoints but the I realised I have no idea where my numbers lie in that range. How do I get around that.
+Anna Wanstall I haven't seen a question like that. I would guess you could still get the midpoint between the highest number in the first quartile and the lowest number in the 2nd quartile and likewise between the 3rd and 4th. Then you could subtract for the interquartile range.
Quartile means that it was divided into 4 parts. So 16 divided by 4 means that each of the quarters would have 4 numbers in it. Let's try another example. If there were 32 numbers, divide it by 4 and each of the quarters would have 8 numbers in it.
So i m having exm tommorow and i was so stresses that what am i gonna do. It is late at night and i couldnt sleep but you just helped me alot. You just did our 2 week work in 4 minuted and 40 seconds. Please give hom a big round of applouse. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This was good for people who are grade 8 or 9 , but for grade 11 this will not work , because they give in the table very high number such as 68, 79 , 104 , 54 can you find the median then !?
U just explained 2 weeks of our study in 5 minutes... damn
same 😂😂
I saw that pic from Pintrest🤡

Actual gift from god. Thanks so much. I wish our teachers would show us these videos more often.
THANKS!!!, Man that was much more helpful than what my teacher taught me!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, THIS HELPED!!
The marker sounds made me shiver
TizerGold ya,its a lil cringe ain't it?
Same
Kwasia then don't watch 🙄
That happens to one of my friends too
Thank you soooo much for this video. It really made things so much more simpler! God Bless you!! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thank you so much. You explained the same concept but in a clearer way in contrast to other videos.
thx a lot, It's way better than searching for a ton of websites
Thank you so much!! But one quick question, why didn't you use (n+1)/2 to find the median?
I figured out to calculate the mode in the first 20 seconds, thanks to you.
life save that help me do my homework
I never knew how to find range but i get it now....! Damn
thanks a lot for your help !
solutions for last question-
mode-13
median - 13
mean - 12.38 approx
range - 3
inter-range - 3
i hope they are correct !
median = 12
Omg thank you. I doing a packet with 92 questions and you are a really big help (on question 78)

How did a random guy i found on youtube explain maths better to me than my teacher with a degree
thank you for the video, but where can I find the link to the answer for the last question ?
I’m in quarantine right now and can’t attend school, and I had no idea how to do this so thank you so so so much!!
thx so much, have a Math test tmr and this one type of question was driving me nuts.
This helped me out so much, thanks
thank you. You spoke loudly (not yell but, some videos out here, you cant even here what they are saying) and very clearly. well done!
Olivia, there is a link to click in the upper right part of the video starting around 4:30.
J Welton my teacher showed us this in school. I understood everything that time but she explained us some shit and I got confused. had to come again😉😊
J Welton I
J Welton how did you get 7 for the mode
J Welton oh nevermind
Thx
Thank you! Struggle with maths a lot. You really helped!
Thank you!! My maths teacher would’ve killed me if I hadn’t revised for this test
I always come here because this guy explains this stuff better than my teachers.
I am in grade 8 and I'm not really good at math and the whole mean, median and mode thing by putting them in charts or figuring out the answer .and u helped me a lot and instead of getting an f like the other test. I got an A so thank you
Briana hidalgo-diaz Thats hot
Omgggggg😍😍😍😍😍cannot believe this. You explained soooooo well, loved your explanation
Thank you sooo much at helping my lessons!

Thanks for uploading this helped a lot.
what link am I supposed to click on to check my work?
Thank you,so finding the mean, mode, range and median is different from finding it with a frquency table to sets???
Thank you so much for this I now can do my stressing homework cheers mate
God thanks have a maths test tomorrow and haven't been understanding this for weeks!
How do i view the answer video
thank you so much for this, I had maths homework and I forgot what I learned in class, so thank you for helping me
Thank You sooooooo much you saved me in my exam
thank you so much bro. Best video in youtube abt this topic
this really helped me in my maths test
thanks so much
Thanks u made my freaking day
how do you know its 8 up or down from the top or bottom?
+Troy Dumas 16 divided by 2 (add up the right column)
Badland Gaming thanks for asking the question, I needed the answer lol thx bro.
how do u find the median when the numbers r way bigger and u cant do that tally thing or writing everything cause the numbers r too big
Don’t even need to revise for my test tmrw now! :) tysm!
I finally understand this I hope I remember but I took notes so thank you so so much
bro you helped me out sm i now got 100% on my hw
What if i have more than 1 number for frequency?
Where is the link

SCROLL DOWN YOU WILL SEE M= (THIS IS MEDIAN) AND SO ON HERE
thanks so much:)
one thing is that is the range just the maximum of values and the minimum of values subtracted?
excellent explanation. well done!!
Thank , this is very helpful👍🏾
If you mean the frequency is too large, I would still add up the frequency add 1 and divide by 2 to find the middle. Then you need to count up from the bottom or down from the top to that number.
This was so helpful. Thank you!
For the Mid range, I thought you needed to add the highest and lowest scores then multiply them by two?
You sir are a life saver!
Mode =13
Median =12
Range=14-11=12.8
Mean=384/31=12.8
Inter quartile =13-12-11=-10
Is it correct sir plz reply me
Thanks
Thanks Sir your a legend !!
Isnt the range 5-0=5 dont we use the frequency?
What do I do if I have a range instead of a exact number. I have tried working out the midpoints but the I realised I have no idea where my numbers lie in that range. How do I get around that.
Ow I forgot I'm trying to work out the interquartile range
+Anna Wanstall I haven't seen a question like that. I would guess you could still get the midpoint between the highest number in the first quartile and the lowest number in the 2nd quartile and likewise between the 3rd and 4th. Then you could subtract for the interquartile range.
WHERE DID U GOT THE 16??
Thank you so much i appreciated what you did
Thanks alot dude, this will help me for revising on the test tmr!
Your good sir...thanks...btw..can we use this for pick 3 ?hehe..
Why did you divide 16 by 4 for the IQR? I don't quite understand where the 4 came from. Is it because it's the sq rt?
Quartile means that it was divided into 4 parts. So 16 divided by 4 means that each of the quarters would have 4 numbers in it.
Let's try another example. If there were 32 numbers, divide it by 4 and each of the quarters would have 8 numbers in it.
J Welton thank you
best maths tutorial ever
THANK YOU this helped me so much!xxx

omg dude thank you so much
You just done my homework
the sound of the marker freaked me out
Thank you man be blessed.
my teachers yt popping off?????
This helped soo much like idek what my Math teacher was saying
Thank you +J Welton for your explanation ☺
most helpful thing ever
I can't find the link
Can u please put it in description
Thanks A lot :DD it help me solve all my problems :)
Saving me on this PSAT tomorrow thanks fam
Weird to think people said fam 5 years ago
I am in grade 8 I like math but I also hate information handling but you taught me in a good way
Thank you👌
Merely awesome. very well explained!!
Thanks man this saved me because I forgot how to do half of my homework so thanks weeell at least if I don't get it wrong . . . 😑?
This was good for people who are grade 8 or 9 , but for grade 11 this will not work , because they give in the table very high number such as 68, 79 , 104 , 54 can you find the median then !?
+Helping_channel Level A-1 You should still be able to write out the list in order and find the median.
J Welton i know but it wil be very long and waste of time such as score is 49 frequency is 12 , score 61 frequency 9 .
Thanks anyway!
+Helping_channel Level A-1 In that case 12 numbers and 9 numbers is a total of 21 numbers, so the middle would be the 11th one. It would be 49.
Actually it wouldn't take that long if you add them all up quickly.
Huh, I’m doing this stuff in the first term of Year 7. This video is really useful.
great work very well explained i'm 17 and I forgot how to do IQR thanks!
holy crap u just explained a unit in 4 minutes
Didn't see a link
sir how to find inter range for assignment problem
sir I got the answer 14-11=3. so this one is Right or wrong
Interquartile range for the practice problem at the end is 13 - 11 = 2
Thank u sir
This video is very helpful thank you very much
i have exams and this really helped :)
This was huge help thanks alot
How did u know it was 8 for median
This video help me a lot.Thaak you.
i dont want to tution because your easy method i like you
very good educational video thanks
You saved my exams thanks
Very useful and made it seen simple
Thanks man! I'm in highest set but some things just slip out of my mind xD
