This scene really captures the emotionality of where Vanessa Lutz is as a human being. She is a totally messed up kid and she knows it but she also knows she is a human being entitled to dignity. That is what her character is screaming at the world the entire movie, all people are entitled to human dignity. At 4:31 it always sends chills up my spine. This was Reese's best performance of her life!
Her best kept secret and best movie hands down!!! Wish more people knew about it but I bet she doesn't want this movie to get out. Such a cult classic lol.
@todd totally agree she was brilliant in this role. She played the character to the core and they captured it. In this scene for instance showing her eyes when she was angry. Awards were in order for sure
I've seen quite a few of her movies in my life: Man in the Moon, Legally Blonde, Sweet Home Alabama, and Walk the Line to name a few, But I NEVER expected Reese Witherspoon to play a character so vicious and violent. But ironicly that makes me more determined to see the whole movie, because I believe that actors should step out of their comfort zones to show how TRUELY great actors they are, this being one of them. But who knows, maybe we'll see Resse in more femme fatale roles in the future.
@@kenbradford6381 yeah she was a psycho in Election too. And amazing in both ! I prefer her to be the villain. Even though Vanessa isnt really a villain at all. She still crazy
Ironically, she was relatively sweet and innocent, if troubled for the first half the film. Circumstances in the institutions had turned during to something more dark at this point
One thing I noticed about Freeway and A Few Good Men. Kiefer Sutherlin and Wolfgang Bodison played a major role in both movies, yet you cannot find the two together in any of the scenes from either movie.
Of course at the very beginning of the film when we meet Vanessa she is in the middle of a deep kiss with her Black boyfriend, who she is trying to call here. It adds an interesting level of social complexity to her use of foul language toward Mike the cop and the choice of names she called him.
when she said that when she asked him if he was that I5 killer he just started smiling all proud like, that shit was funny as fuck because kieth did smile all proud about his killings.
Just watched the move tonight it was top draw and I thought the end scene was great….Her cool character asking for a cigarette and all the chaos that had just happened , the two detectives faces 😅
The way Mike the detective perved on her when she talked about her legal problems! This movie didn't miss a beat, so many cops are HOUNDS lmao. And the prison guards yikes.
@@everythingunni4040you missed the point of that scene then. Once the detective saw her boyfriend was black, he knew that he was wrong about her, and the case wasn’t adding up. Which led him to returning to the crime scene where he found her sliced ponytail, which meant she was telling the truth.
The studios put her in a box and since she is sweet, funny and likable in real life, they didn't want her doing " unlikable things" in her movies. She wasn't happy but had no choice
She managed to create such a loveable, empathetic character in the midst of all the fucked up stuff going on in this movie. Brilliant.

Academy award worthy stuff from a young Reese Witherspoon.
I say this all the time!! Lol
Absolutely
Her best kept secret and best movie hands down!!! Wish more people knew about it but I bet she doesn't want this movie to get out. Such a cult classic lol.
...I had this problem with anger. But I don't have that problem no more.
LMAO and crying.
yeah she's real cured of her anger problems lmao
Lol that part!! 🤣🤣😂
Why she didn't get an Oscar nomination for this is beyond me.
this scene alone has enough quotable lines for a whole movie lmao
@todd totally agree she was brilliant in this role. She played the character to the core and they captured it. In this scene for instance showing her eyes when she was angry. Awards were in order for sure
She's so sassy in this movie. I love it!
Her best performance.
lol this scene is so fucking funny, love this movie. it's to bad it is so underrated and it was a flop in theaters back in the day

owenpeterson this was the first movie I ever remember seeing her in, and then that high school election movie with Matthew Broderick.

This is my favorite movie of hers she’s so good in this
I watched this again for the first time in years the other night. I forgot how disturbing it is
Hey Miss Wood! Is Chopper home?
"You OK Mike?"
- LMAO
I think this one her best movies ❤❤
One thing I noticed about Freeway and A Few Good Men. Kiefer Sutherlin and Wolfgang Bodison played a major role in both movies, yet you cannot find the two together in any of the scenes from either movie.
Best scene in the movie. “I don’t like being called a natural born whore so there!”

The lady was born with pure, raw talent dripping out of her fingers, and then threw it away to become a celebrity.
Huh
“Com’on com’on” still quoted often in my home
Hey Miss Wood! Is Chopper home?
And he just started smiling all proud. That smile gets me every time
I had never seen this movie before. Reese is a wonderful and believable actress 😁😆
You have got to watch it!! It’s good from beginning to end.
when she said that when she asked him if he was that I5 killer he just started smiling all proud like, that shit was funny as fuck because kieth did smile all proud about his killings.
Who is Keith......
I shot him so many times...lol
Just watched the move tonight it was top draw and I thought the end scene was great….Her cool character asking for a cigarette and all the chaos that had just happened , the two detectives faces 😅
One of my favorite movies, still!
im so glad i ran into this movie. i missed it.
LOL I love her southern twang!
I love this scene ..played it for all my friends &family
Tis movie reminds me of Tucker and Dale vs Evil in a way. It's so good at illustrating how the class system works in the US.
for some odd reason I have suddenly become a Reese fan, and I don't mean peanut butter or bass.
The way Mike the detective perved on her when she talked about her legal problems! This movie didn't miss a beat, so many cops are HOUNDS lmao. And the prison guards yikes.
Anybody ever noticed how her hair grew back so fast
Explunged
OMG she's full of rage. 🤯
4:39 Mike kicks the Rattlesnake to see if it bites.
This seems to mock A Few Good Men with Reese as the young blonde private who's fellow Marine was the guy on the right side.
'Firebugs or somethin''....
She was so good looking in this movie.
Best movie ever
I think it’s the best movie I’ve she ever did
this is hilarious...
All I can think about are the racial slurs …
🤪🤪🤪
Why did she call him all those names?
Coz he didn't say he was sorry. And she knew it'd piss him off.
He was stereotyping her and she dished it back out.
Cause that was the funny thing to do back then , they were all racists fr

Whoa! What a racial slur!
Reese used to be a good actress. Once she got popular her acting skills greatly diminished.
That's why she got popular because of her great acting
She’s pigeonholed by studios. She’s still highly skilled. You don’t lose the ability to act.
The studios put her in a box and since she is sweet, funny and likable in real life, they didn't want her doing " unlikable things" in her movies. She wasn't happy but had no choice
Ummm no you?
Yet you lose your temper over a movie and start calling people names? Hahaha someone needs a reality check and some meds?
5:04 hehe
no doubt there
Heart attack ...strke billy square foot 😊
😅😅😅
