- Hi, how are you?
In this video, I show you the exact UX portfolio presentation that got me hired at Visa and GoDaddy. It took 6 months and 10+ interviews to figure out how to really present a case study. Spoiler alert: recruiters don't care as much as you'd think about your actual project. Besides showing my script, I share tips on storytelling, clarifying design processes, and showing cross-functional collaboration. I also share mistakes that you can avoid.
I'm Phoebe, a UX designer at Visa. On this channel, I help you advance your career in tech, ace recruitment, learn UX design, tell stories, and level up in this game we call life.
Think of me as your pocket, digital co-worker :)

This touched my heart.. thank you for your kind words!
Hey, thanks for sharing this! Some of the key points you shared really resonated with me. I also loved that you prepared a script because I'm the type to ramble.
It was highly educational and to the point!
i usually have a terrible attention span but surprisingly got hooked to a 15min video! Kudos to your story telling skills
Thank you!! This means a lot :) Best of luck on your journey
This is very helpful! Thank you!
I'm currently on the hunt for my first full-time position.
I picked up many tips from this video.
Thanks!
You got this!
Solid sharing, atb in your endeavors!
Excellent style of presenting your experience. Watching from Malaysia.
This is amazing Phoebe! Love the part about tying in your hobby to tell a story☺
Thanks Sky! Yes, play around with the storytelling - everyone loves a good story
Thanks for the sharing, nice presentation :)
thanks for making this video and the scripting tip is really good thanks for that
Of course! Happy this has helped.
This really helps a lot, interesting insights and presentation. Thank you!
Happy it helped, let me know what else you'd like to learn about
Thanks, Phoebe, for your wonderful insights. I've seen similar contents on RUclips that's just clickbait. It's great how you've broken down your explanation into easy-to-understand details. I work at a bank managing digital platform operations and am interested in switching to UX design as a full-time career.
Hi Nick, thanks for your kind words! I'm happy this video provided value and I wish you best of luck with your transition - one step at a time, you got this
i love the story telling
Thank you Humphrey!
Thank you I am new to UX design and I am still taking a UX course
Best of luck on your UX journey :)
Hi! I’ve finished my project and I'm working on the case study. How much time should I spend on it, considering I’m not doing anything else right now? Thanks!
Hey Phoebe , very good video . I can do better editing in your videos which can help you to get more engagement in your videos . Pls lmk what do you think ?
Thank you for the encouragement, Divy. I am all good for now with video editing. Best of luck on your freelancing!
Hi Phoebu, Just to confirm from your previous video, Was UX Design by Google the only course you took to self-teach yourself Ui/UX Design?
Were there any other resources?
Hello! The Google UX Design course is the only "formal training" I did for UX design. Beyond that, it was hackathons and projects. Of course, I learned a ton from talented designers on RUclips such as chunbuns, femke.design, mizko, and so on.
@@phoebeyutbt Impressive. I will give it shot!
hello, I will be joining as software engineer at Ford (which I am grateful for considering the job market). However, product design has really piqued my interest in the last few weeks.
Would you say UX is much more competitive even for senior positions? (because swe is also too competitive in junior positions)
I am a bit confused about my long term career (whether should I stick to swe or transition to product design role) and your inputs would be valuable :D
Uday, congrats on your SWE role at Ford!! Given your situation, I'd recommend staying at Ford and seeing how you can hop onto projects/tasks that involve UX/product design. It's much easier to transition roles between a company than to recruit for another company for a completely different role. No need to rush with choosing which path to take down the line - speak with your team to see what projects you try out and go from there :)
@@phoebeyutbt thanks, that's really helpful
Do you have resume examples bullet points to use
I can make a dedicated video on resume! Would that help?
Hi !
Are you perhaps looking for a youtube thumbnail designer? Im not a UX designer like you , but I think i can make clickable thumbnails. If you are interested pls let me know 😅😅 😊👍

Best of luck on your freelancing journey but I am all good on the content side :)
