Yes, the pedals can be taken off with a wrench or crescent wrench. So can the training wheels if they left those on as well. We left the crank in and it stays out of the way.

Jefferson loves his new bike and spends a lot of time on it. The 24" Trek Roscoe is holding up very well so far.
