I was stationed at Clark from 1982-1984 and worked in the Hospital and have very fond memories of this place! The Airmen's Club was also called the 'Coconut Grove'. Because of the heat and humidity I used to swim at the pool frequently, it was one of my favorite hangouts. OMG that could have been my Barracks too as it looks exactly like the one I stayed in, I even recognize the surrounding buildings and streets. Thanks for the memories, those surely were fun times! BTW I was on the third floor too, 3rd door from the end.
The dorm I was in was of of the few newer dorms, I don't thin it was there in the 80s but I am not 100%, there were a bunch of older dorms right across from it as well in that same area. Clark was a fun time, I too like swimming in the pool not far from the Airman's club/Coconut Grove .Thanks 4 your service!
Thanks for the vid! I was stationed there 1971-1975 worked for 405 FW. Your shop looks familiar. I think that use to be the PMEL Shop. I use to work there storing the labs broken equipment that was awaiting parts then return them to the main lab with parts. Wow, those days the Airmen's Club was jamming!
Thank you for the video sir. Was not alive when Pinatubo happened but had a lot of memories of Clark when I was young in the 2000s when all the Duty-Free stores were in their heyday. Always been curious about all the infrastructure I see that was from the Clark AB. I found this Facebook group where all stationed men from the US share pictures and stories. Always fascinated with the stories and lives lived in this wonderful place. Stay safe!
I was station at Clark AB from 72 to 74. I worked at the passenger service terminal. The POWs that were captured by the North Vietnamese during the war. Were taken from North Vietnam and flown to Clark AB hospital for medical review, and introduced to a military personnel with the same rank to review there absent family life, and flown home. I met many of the ex Pows.

The Marine company we were in back in 1961 boarded planes from Okinawa and flew too Clark Air Force base on maneuvers. Of coarse this was before Pinatubo erupted. I was of the opinion that Clark was covered with volcanic ash and not accessible. But your video shows its it good shape, I'm so glad it is. Thanks for another great video~USA
Thanks for this Vid...brings back wonderful memories! I was in brks #5192 as a young Airman. Was at Clark from 1976 to 1978, 1981 to 1984, and 1987 to 1990. The area across from the K-9 cemetery was the Military Working Dog Section and K-9 Training area. I believe the bldg across from the commissary was the old Top Hat (NCO Club) and package store , before the newer one was built. The new Widus Hotel and Casino is where the BX, theater and Four Seasons use to stand. Great vids, thanks!

I was there, off and on thru the 80's, and came back to conus in late 90. I think you're right about the Commissary, seems like it was on the other side of these pics. The big red building kinda turned me around, IDK what the hell that was ! Seems like the old commissary was farther away, past the Top Hat Club. I have some good memories of that place, it was a high class establishment wasn't it ? One thing I've been looking for in all the Clark videos, is the little restaurant called Bahay Philipino, it was down by the SP barracks near PSC 2.

David funny story. I was down behind our housing unit talking to one of the gate guards. Not paying to much attention to the area. When I turned around to leave I just about walked in to two
(Fat fingers on the key board.) Of the mounted patrol horses and riders. I never knew that a horse could sneak up on you. Must have had sneaker horse shoes.

@@FOCUSonASIA13 Jan 1985 I was the first group to Yokota. I had to extend 10 months to go. My dad was stationed in Yokota 71-73 and it was my last base before discharged from AF. I was very fortunate for the opportunity. Cheers!
I was a Military Dog Handler at Clark AB from around May, 1969 until Sept, 1970. We didn't have a K-9 cemettery then. I wonder when it was established? The attitude of the Air Force was that dogs were just equipment. If a dog was too old the handler would learn about it being euthanasiazed when he came to work. Then, the Kennel Master would assigned you another dog. I believe Clark had about 103 dogs at the time and it was the largest dog section in the Air Force. I had two dogs there--Heinie and Brutus. Spent many a night there under the Southern Cross with those dogs. One person mentioned the chow hall used by security police. I remember it was next door to the barricks. Within the same building that I remember hiding trying to avoid those off to often alerts that usually began about three hours after getting off work went I was attempting to sleep. Nothing like working all night and then an alert when they would put you out on post for up to six hours!

Although in the navy, I was stationed at caps tarlac. I lived at Clark afb, MT view subdivision and just outside the main gate. My son was born at Clark in 78. Very fondly remember the Thursday night Mongolian bbq at the coconut grove. Stationed there from 76 to 79. An amazing place.

Stayed in the transit barracks twice in 72-73 on the way to and from Udorn Thailand. They had several lock hasps on each locker. Your first clue. We watched each others stuff when we took a shower. Some Filipino dude had a big book of fabric samples claiming he could make you a suit over night before you left on your plane. San Miguel beer.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. Between September thru November of 1980 I was TDY from Travis AFB to Clark AB as a crew chief for about 3 months I was only 19 years old at the time. At that time I felt like a kid at candy store, fun times for sure. I remember the Airman club to be huge, my understanding of Clark AB was that it was the biggest Air Force base in the Pacific. I first stayed at the Taj Mahal hotel off base for a few weeks then moved to the Jet Hotel for the rest of my TDY it was WILD to say the least. I don't remember much of the hospital but I know I was there to be check on for some typical stuff that young innocent kid got caught up on, if you know what I mean. Alex , I know exactly what you mean. I got stationed at Clark at age 21 in 89, and stayed until Mt Pinatubo blew its gasket! In a way for my career it may have been good to leave LOL But I obviously enjoyed every minute. I remember the Taj Mahal, not sure if its still around, but some of the old hotels like Clarkton and Oasis are still here. @@markv1974 Not sure what edca is, Clark is a freeport zone run by CDC Clark Development Corporation. USAF still comes here on temporary duty exercises like Balakitan for training with Philippine services.
I was there in 90/91 in the 3rd mounted horse patrol. I spent 12 hours a day riding through every nook and cranny of that base, but the only thing I recognize in this video is that dormitory!
Just for laughs. I just new for sure what I wanted to do after school. Security Police dog handler. I used to tag along with them. When ever I could and they were in around the housing area. Remember the ones with the seeing eye 👁️ shoulder patch. I can testify that those horses could “sneak up on people” . I was standing with a guard by a side gate. Turned around a was surprised to see two horses and riders there. The tennis shoes and horseshoes probably helped.😂 By the way. Life turned out as I planned. Man was that a boring four years. Lots of good memories that I just cherish. But I‘ve never been So cold or hot.!!! Shadow & Saber We shared many a box lunch (Sac Nasties) together.
I truly enjoyed this. I was at Clark 3 times beginning in 1970 and ending in 1980. Twice with the 1961st Communication Sq and the last with the 6922nd Security Service at the elephant cage. Like you too much booze to remember the minute details. I also spent 3 days in the Clark Hospital in 1971. My first son was born at Clark in 1979. I hope to return there one day but covid has changed a lot of our travel plans. Take care and keep the videos coming.

wow, i was at that hospital, i got appendicitis on the flight from Okinawa to the Philippines where i was stationed at San Miguel/Capas Tarlac with co. C marine barracks, as Clark was the closest town we go on liberty, we went there many times.

Nice Video but no Wind tunnel. Mac Terminal and live load Area . Memories of Clark some were good and some were scary. I seen some things that I don't ever care to see again and some that i would like to relive. But you haft to take the good with the bad in life. Thanks Ed
Think wind tunnel is gone plus a lot of those areas are inaccessible due to now part of airport or Philippines Air Force. Mac Terminal building is now the older airport terminal I believe which only being used for business stuff. The new terminal is very nice but way down past the old riding stables. Pretty much all my memories of Clark were good but it was a whirlwind got there in 89 then Pinatubo happened. Gone before I really got to know the place but luckily I am here now for good. i was stationed in Clark 1976-78. I was a Medical Corpsman at the USAF Hospital (ICU). It is gone now but will never be forgotten. I wish someday I could back to Clark to visit my o;d barracks which is nearby Lily Hill. Thanks for your video. It brought back good memories. BTW, the Airman's Club was called "Coconut Groove".
I flew into Clark AFB enroute to my Ship USS Ranger 1966. My brother in law was a Military Policemen statiioned there and visited him several times back them.
The BX was the other side of the road, Value City building was amongst a throng of purpose built "Duty Free" shops that mushroomed when the CDC opened the base up again in the mid 90.s
Was your shop the place where they worked on the PaveTac pods ? I worked in a shop right next to the phase dock, and I made the acquaintance of a guy who worked there, anyway he was showing me around the shop one day and we watched one of those pods operateing on a test stand. Sad that there is no military presence any more but Clark looks better than ever in my opinion taking away the damaged structures/housing that still needs to come down.
Could you find some maps of the base to let us kinda get our bearings. We were there 68-70. I can remember the movie theater and bowling alley and walking from the house past the parade ground to get there. But can’t find anything of the housing area that was to the left of the headquarters building and the radio tower. Prefab house on concrete stilts. Thanks for the nice trip down memory lane.
From 68-70 until the time I was there which was 89-91 I am sure things changed but main areas like parade ground are still the same. I will see what I can find and maybe do a future video of what an area of the base used to look like and what it looks like today. Would take some time though so wouldn't be for a while. I know Phillyinthephilippines is putting something together of old photos of Clark and Subic with photos he received from viewers so if you haven't checked out his channel check it out. Are you talking about the two floor, apartment like units with a small backyard and small drainage ditch by the road? In 70-71 my sister and I used to walk from them across the field to the Kelly Theater and arts and crafts building. Movies were a quarter! My Mom and Dad used to take us to the NCO club (during the day, of course!) and I remember they saw Ike and Tina Turner there. My Mom worked at the hospital as a receptionist and I remember I got to meet NFL players like Bob Lilly and Tom Dempsey during their USO tours. We also went to the Bamboo Bowl to watch football games and outdoor movies. At one, the great pitcher Bob Gibson was there and I met him, very intimidating! Remember my parents friends like Capt. Wiley, Lt. Jacobson, Dan Houston, Larry and Lynn Sullivan, and Don Engstrom. Also friends of mine like Dale Cutshaw, Willie, Jerry, and Thomas Hedges. Any of you guys out there?! Sorry to be so longwinded, but being a 10 year old back then was a blast and I have great memories of Clark! Haven't been back but I can see that its a totally different place since Pinatubo!

Thanks in advance. I know that it wouldn’t be easy. I looked at some of the maps that are out there when you try enlarging them. The street names ant Building numbers just get to blurry to read. Looks a lot like old memo-graph paper. I’ve been to Phil’s web site, and enjoy it a lot. I do realize that time changes everything. But it’s funny how much it still looks the same. The jeepnese ? All the small bikes all over the place and the over head phone and power lines. I just remember how green and beautiful it was. We never took any pictures though. The camera was left in storage with the other household items In Michigan . Just never got another. Thanks again . Sorry if I’m rambling on.🤔

on my way to vietnam/thailand, i stayed at clark ab. on sunday morning i walked over to the nco club to get breakfast. i was 19 years old Sgt. there was a topless dancer gyrating. this catholic boy encountered temptation. reminded of the story how st augustine was on a similar path and he was tempted by a fetching young women who beckoned him to commit an unchaste act. he beseeched the Lord to give him chastity but not now. anyway, thanks for the trip down memory lane. outside of public comments, how can i reach out to you? best wishes Tim
I was stationed here as a medic in 73 and hardly ever went into the hospital, I was working in a building in the back that was jail for drug patients from LBJ ( Long bin Jail) in VietNam. We would hold them out for two weeks and after disposition from a psych Doctor would ship back to the states. Our dorms were 3 story and had Jalousie windows that we had to put plastic over so we could put an AC window unit in. The back sides behind the windows had a really wide open patio, maybe 15 feet, where the house boys would sit and cook their rice lunch and eat. That was one humid place. I was in Japan before I came there because they were over staffed and it was the same there. I was essentially, kicked out of the medical field when I got there because all I did for a year was play cards, ping pong and show these clowns movies all evening. Luckily, I was able to cross train into radiology, because I had forgotten everything I had learned previously. It would be great if Marcos would lease it back to the US Air Force and America would restore it back it's glory. Veteran's would come back in droves to visit that place.
They can visit now, it will never go back as a whole to an Air Base too much money , industry, hotels and casinos now plus international airport. They could however still put a Detachment or two here , that would be nice. I used use a BX and commissary!

It was the last house on the left on Corregidor Street (if I remember correctly & across from the parade grounds) and beyond that was a baseball field and a small playground. I believe all of the officers housing was around the golf course. It's been so long ago.

Thanks William, hoping to get better on each one. There were many chow halls by my recollection! The one near my dorm which was 5193 , the building is still there. That and the flight-line one are the only two I remember. Many of the barracks are being used as military housing by Philippine AF, so yes blocked and cannot enter even the street they are on. @@FOCUSonASIA13 those are edca sites so its an active bases with forward deployed us troops. Probably require some clearance to get in. Can probably enter if you’re an active duty member

But clark has a portions for A10c and hh60’s of the 18 wing (originally established in PI, garrison at kadena ab), and some from the 15th (osan ab).. as per public info. No sure how many troops are there or how many aircraft. But with 17k balikatan troops im guessing most of them would stay on duty even after balikatan
Part of the base is used for Philippine AF, and rest is for commercial use. To my knowledge nothing in the works to let US use it again. US does come occasionally on visits for joint training. Same for Subic but I have hear rumors of opening small Navy presence there but just rumors as of now. Thanks 4 watching

No sir, most buildings of the former Clark AB have been left to ruins. Hollow shells of their former self. Some of the barracks/dormitories are being used as military housing but no updates done to them other than painted blue and white. There are a lot of new and nice buildings and restaurants and a expanding International airport on Clark, but there is a lot of unused and abandoned structures as well. There will be more Clark videos in the future. Thanks 4 watching.

While there are some Chinese investments on Clark like some Casinos there are also a lot of other investors on Clark. Around Clark it is more South Korean investors than anyone else including a whole Korea Town outside of Friendship gate. Thanks 4 watching!
Pretty sure it was at Camp O'donnell area not Clark. The prisoners were loaded into rail cars in San Fernando and transported to Camp O'Donnell area after marching from Bataan area to San Fernando in miserable conditions. I have videos on some Bataan Memorials including Mt Samat in Bataan, A memorial in Cabanatuan area as well as one in Tarlac area near Camp O'donell
Makes me wonder why the Philippines doesn’t want us back with China knocking at their door. Seems like it would be a good strategic base, especially as a stand-off for Taiwan.
Don't ever see it opening back too much commercial development on it now. We do have a temporary presence on it from time to time though to maintain the balance. I do think there is a possibility of something Navy coming back/going in down in Subic region but I am just speculating.
Hello, I am Filipino, I was not born in 1991 (year when the Americans left) but to be frank, I would have also begged our senate not to expel you guys. The withdrawal is the biggest geopolitical mistake committed by our government. It created a power vacuum in which China took advantage of it by building military facilities and taking over our islands in the South China Sea. After the Americans left, China started harassing our fishermen. Instead of rational thinking, we had been blinded by our nationalistic ego and propaganda. Actually, the president that time (Cory) was in favor of extending the lease agreement but it began a split in the ruling government with moderates like Cory, VP Laurel, house speaker Mitra, Alvarez, Angara, Gonzales, and Ramos-Shahani in favor of extension and with radicals (the one's much more closer to the Communists) like Pimentel, Salonga, and Tañada against of it and the "anti-" won. Pinatubo erupted and the US left Clark. (Note: Cory was a terrible president but I do agree with his US bases stance) Even rich countries like the UK, Germany, Japan, and South Korea retained their US bases, I don't get the reason why we should not have one? It is Filipino pride on independence that ultimately led to the gradual demise of our sovereignty to another foreign power (losing islands to China one by one as years passed).
@@FOCUSonASIA13 oh theyre back. 18th wing i believe (it was originally a PI unit back when PI was a territory) plus other edca sites. In hindsight there are 12k troops for balikatan and with clark airfield being renovated most of them would be staying. Troops build up
@@FOCUSonASIA13 as for sibic. The shipbuilding facility was reacquired by the Phil navy and the rest is owned by cerberus - the us defense contractor that services the us navy.
It is indeed in sad shape but currently under renovation to be turned into a museum. Don't think it is a museum anything to do with the hospital or Clark but we will see. @PhillyinthePhilippines has been doing videos of the ongoing renovation if you want to check out his videos.

I believe the bldg across from the commissary was the old Top Hat (NCO Club) and package store , before the newer one was built. The new Widus Hotel and Casino is where the BX, theater and Four Seasons use to stand. Great vids, thanks!

I was there, off and on thru the 80's, and came back to conus in late 90. I think you're right about the Commissary, seems like it was on the other side of these pics. The big red building kinda turned me around, IDK what the hell that was ! Seems like the old commissary was farther away, past the Top Hat Club. I have some good memories of that place, it was a high class establishment wasn't it ? One thing I've been looking for in all the Clark videos, is the little restaurant called Bahay Philipino, it was down by the SP barracks near PSC 2.

I was a Military Dog Handler at Clark AB from around May, 1969 until Sept, 1970. We didn't have a K-9 cemettery then. I wonder when it was established? The attitude of the Air Force was that dogs were just equipment. If a dog was too old the handler would learn about it being euthanasiazed when he came to work. Then, the Kennel Master would assigned you another dog. I believe Clark had about 103 dogs at the time and it was the largest dog section in the Air Force. I had two dogs there--Heinie and Brutus. Spent many a night there under the Southern Cross with those dogs. One person mentioned the chow hall used by security police. I remember it was next door to the barricks. Within the same building that I remember hiding trying to avoid those off to often alerts that usually began about three hours after getting off work went I was attempting to sleep. Nothing like working all night and then an alert when they would put you out on post for up to six hours!

Although in the navy, I was stationed at caps tarlac. I lived at Clark afb, MT view subdivision and just outside the main gate. My son was born at Clark in 78. Very fondly remember the Thursday night Mongolian bbq at the coconut grove. Stationed there from 76 to 79. An amazing place.

Stayed in the transit barracks twice in 72-73 on the way to and from Udorn Thailand. They had several lock hasps on each locker. Your first clue. We watched each others stuff when we took a shower. Some Filipino dude had a big book of fabric samples claiming he could make you a suit over night before you left on your plane. San Miguel beer.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. Between September thru November of 1980 I was TDY from Travis AFB to Clark AB as a crew chief for about 3 months I was only 19 years old at the time. At that time I felt like a kid at candy store, fun times for sure. I remember the Airman club to be huge, my understanding of Clark AB was that it was the biggest Air Force base in the Pacific. I first stayed at the Taj Mahal hotel off base for a few weeks then moved to the Jet Hotel for the rest of my TDY it was WILD to say the least. I don't remember much of the hospital but I know I was there to be check on for some typical stuff that young innocent kid got caught up on, if you know what I mean. Alex , I know exactly what you mean. I got stationed at Clark at age 21 in 89, and stayed until Mt Pinatubo blew its gasket! In a way for my career it may have been good to leave LOL But I obviously enjoyed every minute. I remember the Taj Mahal, not sure if its still around, but some of the old hotels like Clarkton and Oasis are still here. @@markv1974 Not sure what edca is, Clark is a freeport zone run by CDC Clark Development Corporation. USAF still comes here on temporary duty exercises like Balakitan for training with Philippine services.
I was there in 90/91 in the 3rd mounted horse patrol. I spent 12 hours a day riding through every nook and cranny of that base, but the only thing I recognize in this video is that dormitory!

Just for laughs. I just new for sure what I wanted to do after school. Security Police dog handler. I used to tag along with them. When ever I could and they were in around the housing area. Remember the ones with the seeing eye 👁️ shoulder patch. I can testify that those horses could “sneak up on people” . I was standing with a guard by a side gate. Turned around a was surprised to see two horses and riders there. The tennis shoes and horseshoes probably helped.😂 By the way. Life turned out as I planned. Man was that a boring four years. Lots of good memories that I just cherish. But I‘ve never been So cold or hot.!!! Shadow & Saber We shared many a box lunch (Sac Nasties) together.

I truly enjoyed this. I was at Clark 3 times beginning in 1970 and ending in 1980. Twice with the 1961st Communication Sq and the last with the 6922nd Security Service at the elephant cage. Like you too much booze to remember the minute details. I also spent 3 days in the Clark Hospital in 1971. My first son was born at Clark in 1979. I hope to return there one day but covid has changed a lot of our travel plans. Take care and keep the videos coming.

wow, i was at that hospital, i got appendicitis on the flight from Okinawa to the Philippines where i was stationed at San Miguel/Capas Tarlac with co. C marine barracks, as Clark was the closest town we go on liberty, we went there many times.

Nice Video but no Wind tunnel. Mac Terminal and live load Area . Memories of Clark some were good and some were scary. I seen some things that I don't ever care to see again and some that i would like to relive. But you haft to take the good with the bad in life. Thanks Ed
Think wind tunnel is gone plus a lot of those areas are inaccessible due to now part of airport or Philippines Air Force. Mac Terminal building is now the older airport terminal I believe which only being used for business stuff. The new terminal is very nice but way down past the old riding stables. Pretty much all my memories of Clark were good but it was a whirlwind got there in 89 then Pinatubo happened. Gone before I really got to know the place but luckily I am here now for good. i was stationed in Clark 1976-78. I was a Medical Corpsman at the USAF Hospital (ICU). It is gone now but will never be forgotten. I wish someday I could back to Clark to visit my o;d barracks which is nearby Lily Hill. Thanks for your video. It brought back good memories. BTW, the Airman's Club was called "Coconut Groove".

The BX was the other side of the road, Value City building was amongst a throng of purpose built "Duty Free" shops that mushroomed when the CDC opened the base up again in the mid 90.s

Was your shop the place where they worked on the PaveTac pods ? I worked in a shop right next to the phase dock, and I made the acquaintance of a guy who worked there, anyway he was showing me around the shop one day and we watched one of those pods operateing on a test stand. Sad that there is no military presence any more but Clark looks better than ever in my opinion taking away the damaged structures/housing that still needs to come down.

I can remember the movie theater and bowling alley and walking from the house past the parade ground to get there. From 68-70 until the time I was there which was 89-91 I am sure things changed but main areas like parade ground are still the same. I will see what I can find and maybe do a future video of what an area of the base used to look like and what it looks like today. Would take some time though so wouldn't be for a while. Are you talking about the two floor, apartment like units with a small backyard and small drainage ditch by the road? In 70-71 my sister and I used to walk from them across the field to the Kelly Theater and arts and crafts building. Movies were a quarter! My Mom and Dad used to take us to the NCO club (during the day, of course!) and I remember they saw Ike and Tina Turner there. My Mom worked at the hospital as a receptionist and I remember I got to meet NFL players like Bob Lilly and Tom Dempsey during their USO tours. We also went to the Bamboo Bowl to watch football games and outdoor movies. At one, the great pitcher Bob Gibson was there and I met him, very intimidating! Remember my parents friends like Capt. Wiley, Lt. Jacobson, Dan Houston, Larry and Lynn Sullivan, and Don Engstrom. Also friends of mine like Dale Cutshaw, Willie, Jerry, and Thomas Hedges. Any of you guys out there?! Sorry to be so longwinded, but being a 10 year old back then was a blast and I have great memories of Clark! Haven't been back but I can see that its a totally different place since Pinatubo!

Building numbers just get to blurry to read. Looks a lot like old memo-graph paper. I’ve been to Phil’s web site, and enjoy it a lot. I do realize that time changes everything. But it’s funny how much it still looks the same. The jeepnese ? All the small bikes all over the place and the over head phone and power lines. I just remember how green and beautiful it was. We never took any pictures though. The camera was left in storage with the other household items In Michigan . Just never got another. Thanks again . Sorry if I’m rambling on.🤔

on my way to vietnam/thailand, i stayed at clark ab. on sunday morning i walked over to the nco club to get breakfast. i was 19 years old Sgt. there was a topless dancer gyrating. this catholic boy encountered temptation. reminded of the story how st augustine was on a similar path and he was tempted by a fetching young women who beckoned him to commit an unchaste act. he beseeched the Lord to give him chastity but not now. anyway, thanks for the trip down memory lane. outside of public comments, how can i reach out to you? best wishes Tim

I was stationed here as a medic in 73 and hardly ever went into the hospital, I was working in a building in the back that was jail for drug patients from LBJ ( Long bin Jail) in VietNam. We would hold them out for two weeks and after disposition from a psych Doctor would ship back to the states. Our dorms were 3 story and had Jalousie windows that we had to put plastic over so we could put an AC window unit in. The back sides behind the windows had a really wide open patio, maybe 15 feet, where the house boys would sit and cook their rice lunch and eat. That was one humid place. I was in Japan before I came there because they were over staffed and it was the same there. I was essentially, kicked out of the medical field when I got there because all I did for a year was play cards, ping pong and show these clowns movies all evening. Luckily, I was able to cross train into radiology, because I had forgotten everything I had learned previously. It would be great if Marcos would lease it back to the US Air Force and America would restore it back it's glory. Veteran's would come back in droves to visit that place.
They can visit now, it will never go back as a whole to an Air Base too much money , industry, hotels and casinos now plus international airport. They could however still put a Detachment or two here , that would be nice. I used use a BX and commissary!

I had my broken arm set and then the cast removed at this hospital in 1965. Dad was stationed there from 63-66. We lived in a "barn house".
If you were in a bran house your dad was an officer most likely, some barn houses are still there around parade ground

It was the last house on the left on Corregidor Street (if I remember correctly & across from the parade grounds) and beyond that was a baseball field and a small playground. I believe all of the officers housing was around the golf course. It's been so long ago.

That and the flight-line one are the only two I remember. Many of the barracks are being used as military housing by Philippine AF, so yes blocked and cannot enter even the street they are on. @@FOCUSonASIA13 those are edca sites so its an active bases with forward deployed us troops. Probably require some clearance to get in. Can probably enter if you’re an active duty member

But clark has a portions for A10c and hh60’s of the 18 wing (originally established in PI, garrison at kadena ab), and some from the 15th (osan ab).. as per public info. No sure how many troops are there or how many aircraft. But with 17k balikatan troops im guessing most of them would stay on duty even after balikatan

Part of the base is used for Philippine AF, and rest is for commercial use. To my knowledge nothing in the works to let US use it again. US does come occasionally on visits for joint training. Same for Subic but I have hear rumors of opening small Navy presence there but just rumors as of now. Thanks 4 watching

No sir, most buildings of the former Clark AB have been left to ruins. Hollow shells of their former self. Some of the barracks/dormitories are being used as military housing but no updates done to them other than painted blue and white. There are a lot of new and nice buildings and restaurants and a expanding International airport on Clark, but there is a lot of unused and abandoned structures as well. I do not know of a diplomat hotel on Clark but there is nothing close to the old hospital building it is kind of hidden of the main roads.

Clark AFB is NOW SURROUNDED BY CHINESE OWNED BUILDINGS AND BUSINESS
While there are some Chinese investments on Clark like some Casinos there are also a lot of other investors on Clark. Around Clark it is more South Korean investors than anyone else including a whole Korea Town outside of Friendship gate. Thanks 4 watching!

Pretty sure it was at Camp O'donnell area not Clark. The prisoners were loaded into rail cars in San Fernando and transported to Camp O'Donnell area after marching from Bataan area to San Fernando in miserable conditions. I have videos on some Bataan Memorials including Mt Samat in Bataan, A memorial in Cabanatuan area as well as one in Tarlac area near Camp O'donell
Makes me wonder why the Philippines doesn’t want us back with China knocking at their door. Seems like it would be a good strategic base, especially as a stand-off for Taiwan.
Don't ever see it opening back too much commercial development on it now. We do have a temporary presence on it from time to time though to maintain the balance. I do think there is a possibility of something Navy coming back/going in down in Subic region but I am just speculating.
Hello, I am Filipino, I was not born in 1991 (year when the Americans left) but to be frank, I would have also begged our senate not to expel you guys.
The withdrawal is the biggest geopolitical mistake committed by our government. It created a power vacuum in which China took advantage of it by building military facilities and taking over our islands in the South China Sea. After the Americans left, China started harassing our fishermen.
Instead of rational thinking, we had been blinded by our nationalistic ego and propaganda. Actually, the president that time (Cory) was in favor of extending the lease agreement but it began a split in the ruling government with moderates like Cory, VP Laurel, house speaker Mitra, Alvarez, Angara, Gonzales, and Ramos-Shahani in favor of extension and with radicals (the one's much more closer to the Communists) like Pimentel, Salonga, and Tañada against of it and the "anti-" won. Pinatubo erupted and the US left Clark. (Note: Cory was a terrible president but I do agree with his US bases stance)
Even rich countries like the UK, Germany, Japan, and South Korea retained their US bases, I don't get the reason why we should not have one?
It is Filipino pride on independence that ultimately led to the gradual demise of our sovereignty to another foreign power (losing islands to China one by one as years passed).

It is indeed in sad shape but currently under renovation to be turned into a museum. Don't think it is a museum anything to do with the hospital or Clark but we will see. @PhillyinthePhilippines has been doing videos of the ongoing renovation if you want to check out his videos.
