      @bardnsebarnsden7524 7 месяцев назад +6

      @@Paulftate If everyone got paid a living wage, bread would not be affordable to anyone? That directly goes against the idea of living wage. If people are being paid a living wage, they can't not be able to afford bread or it is not a living wage. If it is hard now and getting worse, would you not try to change the reason why? It ain't "immigrants" or "wokeness", it's greed. Have the upper management and their piggy bank owners make less money, extract less from the company itself. And if that factory closes because they don't want to pay, those grounds can be used for a business that will pay the workers that wage. Maybe the workers even get a say in how it's operated so the job can be less destructive on their body and they can retire, not get injured and fired for not being productive enough or missing time because of the injury.
      What usefulness did unions have in the past that they aren't needed for now? They haven't won, not even close to everyone is unionised and has the power to say no to the boss, nor have they lost and been crushed or rendered useless, they're still bringing people's wages up and giving them the power to say no to your boss and not immediately be kicked to the curb. Despite the many labor laws and benefits changes, unions are still trapped in the same struggles they were before because authoritarian control of businesses remains.

    Alabama is number 6 in the US for the number of people receiving some form of government welfare assistance each month. That’s over 16,000 people for every 100,000 in the state. It’s time these folks get decent wages and a safe working environment. It’s 2024 and CEO’s are making millions and their workers aren’t making a living wage and getting injured on the job. Something is wrong with that picture. It’s greed pure and simple. Employees making a decent wage, eat healthier, take pride in their work, have better personal relationships, (less family abuse); the list goes on and on. I for one will be watching to see if employees unionize. If they don’t, there will never be a Hyundai in our driveway. Unionize 🙏

    This video is really interesting cause in France, we are being told that we're doing sh*t about occupational health and safety, that everything is better in the USA, less work-related injuries and occupational diseases "because companies pay heavy damages in court, and fines". I see it's just bullshit, like always.

    But my 07' Elantra get 27 dead dinosaurs per mile combined. Hyundai made a solid v4 block. America just had to have the v6 for their precious crossovers. Never worked out. I think the Elanta N branding has done them some good. I actually see a fair number a Hyundai's out in the wild these days. I hope you guys get your union.

    I remember when the auto makers abandoned the Northern states and the usual lowlifes howled with laughter. Who's laughing now? BTW, good luck with the union. You're in a state where unions are shown the door at gun point.

    Perhaps, the underlying cause of these individuals' injuries might be linked to their unhealthy lifestyles. If you closely observe the video, a significant number of these automotive workers are either obese or morbidly obese. Introducing healthier individuals could potentially reduce the likelihood of injuries.

    Your state created the scenario where they could lure an employer w/ promises of immunity and protections for them vs. you. I do understand that people w/ few opportunities for work can get desperate and start such lowest-common-denominator approaches to employment. That they simply want to work. But it is only a matter of time before you face the fact that current US economic policies and certainly non-traditional manufacturing states trying to lure manufacturing to their areas, are not balanced in their approach. You might be a voter, but until you have $, they don't care. And once you have $ from this kind of employer, you realize that the very short-term gain you received, now comes w/ long-term consequences.
