I also have a Pixel 3XL, previously used a tempered glass protector, and just ordered a 7 Pro that's on the way; so I'm trying to decide on a case and protector before it arrives 😅 right now my top candidates are Spigen and Case-Mate, which also has a clear case and plastic protector.

Great video and makes me feel like I'll not balls it up by putting it on my phone. Just curious as my last phone came with a protector already fitted, what's the difference in this film to a glass version. guessing the glass is just more durable? Do they fit the same? Thanks
Thanks for the kind words! Strictly guessing here, but I assume that the scratch resistance between glass and film would be the biggest difference due to the hardness levels. In the follow up video I'll be doing I'll try to get some macro shots of the film on the phone. You do see marks on the film when the screen is off. If the phone came into contact with keys, rocks, knives etc, I would want tempered glass in those applications. However with that said it's held up to keys quite well, and call me crazy but I am actually preferring the feeling of the film to the tempered glass. I do hope to be testing a tempered glass one in the near future!

I worked at Geek squad awhile ago, and this is basically the process we used for non-glass screen protectors.
When we got my wife's iPhone 12 Pro Max it was the Geek Squad that installed their own branded one. We used it as a stopgap until we could get her a tempered glass one in. I will be doing a follow up video down the road in terms of longevity of this Spigen one, but so far it has me impressed!
@@RegsChannel my dad's getting a pixel pro 7 for xmas so I'm looking at cases and obviously that got me looking at screen protectors too. Not sure about the glass ones that are out there right now, so your vid was super helpful. Thanks again, gunna get the hex pattern spigen case and neo flex protector because of it.
Did you find a good tempered glass screen protector for p7p ? Or is this a good alternative.
Hey there! I do see some off brand ones on Amazon, but I just applied the second neoflex one that came in the pack, and it's been surprisingly good!
So, what you're sayin' is I shouldn't try using a coupla strips of clear plastic packing tape then? lol Prolly not as good as the $20.00 protector I'm guessin'
For the money I'm pretty satisfied so far! I plan on doing a longer term review in a few months to see how it stacks up against the super cheap "no name" ones off Amazon.
So after 5 months... How's your experience with Neo flex screen protector been?
I'm going to be doing a 6 month update video, but so far my initial impressions are positive, especially after being a tempered glass purist lol... The screen protector has definitely absorbed some impacts and is showing some wear, but it has held up surprisingly well over this time. One nice upside is that they do come as a 2 pack.
Does spigen screen protector have a full snug fit with the spigen case?
To the left and right edges of the screen, yes, top and bottom there is a minor gap. Hope that helps!

Is the screen protector thick enough to go beyond the thickness of the Spigen case ? (In other words, if you put the phone screen down will the protector touch the table or will the case "lips" still protect the screen and the screen protector?

@@liryco8795 from left to right the coverage is tight, but from top to bottom there is a bit of a gap. I am working on the follow up video that should launch in the next couple weeks that will show how it's held up after nearly 7 months... Stay tuned!

Where? not on their site. They have the TPU thingie NeoFlex but that's it
clear cases always turn yellow and need to be replaced in like 3 months. It seems like a waste
So far this one is holding up very well! Better than the generic ones I must say
Had a clear case for a whole year. It never yellowed, I now have a clear one from Ringke on my 7 Pro since launch, no yellowing either. You just gotta spend a little extra on quality.
@@BoomBoomBrucey so far the Spigen case is still clear. If you use a decent quality resin I suspect it should hold up.
