It's great to see you back! I was only saying to my wife yesterday, "I've not seen one of Jonathan's videos from OMA for a while". I'm also an alcoholic. I've never tried psychedelics, but Buddhist meditation is what got me off the sauce. Thank you so much for sharing.
Way to go! I have long believed in psychedelics for addiction and playing and listening to music as well as mental, emotional and spiritual growth. I'm now 70 years old. I grew up with alcoholic parents and experienced lots of psychological and physical abuse that drove me to drugs very early on; drinking and smoking cigarettes and marijuana by 12. I started taking LSD at 14. On one of those trips I distinctly got the message that I could/would never be an alcoholic. Well, for several years more I was still in party mode but the hold of impending, imminent addiction was broken forever. The positive effects psychedelics has on music & the mind is immeasurable! I imagine it's helped your speaker designs also. I've always loved your speakers' looks. Unfortunately, I'm not in that tax bracket and, being on the West coast and seriously physically disabled nowadays (for non-addiction reasons), I can't make an appointment to experience them. Congratulations, Jonathan on your success over the "demon alcohol"! It's rare for me to comment on YT vids but I was moved by yours. Stay well, brother! BTW, I'm a new sub because of this vid!
The psychedelics helped you to remember yourself. In Zen it’s called satori,…a small enlightenment. Osho once said,..“ the greatest misfortune is to forget ourselves and the highest Ecstasy is to remember ourselves. You were very lucky. Thank you for sharing this experience.🙏
What a powerful and uplifting story. I appreciate you making yourself vulnerable by sharing your experience. I’m happy for you. I’ve witnessed alcoholism ruin the lives of family and friends. I look forward to hearing more. Take care!
I want to thank the doctors that put their careers on the line to experiment with "bad substances" I don't have time today to say everything I would like to say but what a beautiful story and thank you for being vulnerable!
Thank you, Sir, well done for staying dry for 5 years. I was like you, and I gave up drinking in 2019 after my 5th time trying and over 30 years of drinking. Be proud of your achievement and keep fighting every day. Take care, Sir.
What a story Jonathan. Believe me that every person sooner or later gets his or her share of challenges in their life. I hope you stay on the good path and I would say take your time to walk it. For me you still stay the same. Hang in there bro 👊
Thank you for your video. It’s definitely an inspiration. My brother is a combat military vet that suffers immensely from PTSD. If he’s not drinking every day, his hands are literally shaking. I have went down the path of psychedelic research for him and have gave him some myself. I want to get him this kind of help. He wants it too! He needs help…!
@@clickbeetle2720 He’s gone through the military programs before. They helped but didn’t stick. I supplied him with some of what he mentioned in the video. It helped but I am not a medical psychedelic specialist that is the golden ticket!
Jonathan!
That took a lot of courage to talk about and it felt very honest. I hope that you remain in the very best of health to continue your good work. Standard treatments for addiction have generally disappointing results and more research in to psychedelic therapies is definitely required.
Thank you Steve. You can look up an article on this clinical trial in the NYT- I believe the success rate for this treatment was in the mid/hi 80% range. Remarkable for an addiction that kills hundreds of thousands of Americans alone every year.
Glad to hear that you've turned over a new leaf. Thank you for sharing. If I'm ever in New York or Pennsylvania, I'll stop by. Warmest greetings from the San Francisco Bay Area. 👋
Great video. Thank you for stepping forward and championing an important revolution and bravely leading with your life and story as an example. Looking forward to hearing more. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 blessings
My respects mr oswald, just the fact that you share this with us your followers speaks loudly and highly of your character and your heart to many people that are fighting any addiction in the shadows ,you are a living example of a overcomer the moment you decide to be vulnerable and accountable to yourself congrats sr, i have faith one day iwill have the pleasure of buying a set of Oma speakers cause they are simply the best
Thanks for sharing your story. Iv been a firm believer of the use of Psychedelics for 30 years and have experienced and seen there transformations first hand. Iv also been a fan of high end audio for about the same time. With that said since the first discovery of your channel Iv been fantasizing about spending a transformative evening with one of your systems. Im sure your story will encourage others...
Thanks Jonathan ... congratulations on your journey. I have my own experience with mushrooms and music. It totally lets you hear music in a way not possible. You get to see sound ... like your Consciousness becomes an equalizer ... not all music was producing healing visuals while others produced healing visuals. In my journey with psychedelics, I have quit marijuana and porn which I was both highly addicted to… like you I don’t need to use will power to stop ... I just have no interest in these things anymore after my experience with mushrooms.. I am curious how psychedelics would be like listening to music with your speakers though ... as just using normal earbuds, the music just takes on a quality and richness that is indescribable ... the documentary that I watched that changed my view on mushrooms was Fantastic Fungi ... highly recommended
Good Day Sir Weiss, you touched an item, many people do recognise it, in themselves or around them I do comment on your content for a reason, which rarely happens , in my body was created a substance after a severe accident which caused , my body can not handle alcohol anymore, since 2008 I live without alcohol very well
Psychedelics have the potential to make a significant impact on mental health issues like anxiety and depression .They have been incredibly helpful form me personally
functioning. If you were high functioning, you'd still be doing the silly stuff! nothing worse than hiding and lying like a dog, betraying yourself and failing yourself every day. plant medicines are powerful,
The difference between your case and many other addicts is that you wanted to give up. My experience of an ex partner is that they could not do this because they would never admit alcoholism or seek treatment. You cannot treat one who does not see the necessity of their predicament.
Being honest with yourself Jonathan is the beginning of self love , Ego the self is what we battle, It is Christ who must be put first Johnathan at all costs because the more of Christ shown the less the pain when you leave...it is only through Christ we go to heaven we must endure his pain sober
Jonathan I also wanted to say that if you feel that you want to drink again please consider Ayawaska, The ritual gets to the bottom of the problem inside you and like a mocking evil demon it uses your own very pride to clean you , absolutely fascinating...peace good sir and I pray for ya
Your theory on this whole "sound quality" aspect of sound delivered during psychedic experiences is interesting, but I feel is probably flawed. The fact is, that most people don't care about, much less even notice the differences between very basic audio quality and audio reproduced with much higher quality gear. One would then need to ask themselves whether the act of being on a psychedlic drug is necissarily going to make one apprecaite high fidelity sound who didn't appreciate it before. If what you say is true, then you could sell a lot of high end audio gear by dosing folks and having them listen to music on really fine audio gear. They would then have such a great memorable experience with it that the memory would be imprinted on their brain, and they would be wanting to replicate some of that experience when they're straight. I suspect that the kind of people who are most deeply effected by hearing music on quality audio gear when they are in the midst of a psychedic trip, are the same people who already have a taste for high quality audio...
I can report that I wasn’t into high quality audio until after taking psychedelics. Being on psychedelics enhanced the music so much that listening to music normally felt lacking. It led me to upgrade my equipment which enhanced the psychedelic experience even more so. I saw a huge connection in the quality of sound (as well as the right music) having a huge impact on the visuals and quality/depth of the journey ... psychedelics definitely turned me on a journey of finding the best equipment (that I can afford) to reproduce sound ... before psychedelics, I was content with stock earbuds.

Really insightful, honest. Glad this worked for you and your hope for others to receive care is admirable.
Well done and happy for you. Psychedelic treatment seems like the next frontier for many mental-health (and beyond) conditions.
Jonathan, to say I am proud of you would be an understatement! Aug 27th, is a very special day
Your kindness is appreciated!
