- A big hit for the original band! Always great fun to play when I got it feeling good from drums.
Performing with Level 42 in 2003 at the legendary theatre Hammersmith Apollo (formerly Hammersmith Odeon, where I saw my first London concert in 1976) on my DW rig of the time. Pretty much all left hand leading - (I'd forgotten!)
Was always exciting and a pleasure always to work with my great friend Mark and the boys playing the great music of the band.
Video used with kind permission of Mark King.
Mark King - Bass/Vocals
Lyndon Connah - Keys/Vocals
Nathan King - Guitar/Vocals
Sean Freeman - Saxes/Vocals
Gary Husband - Drums
This was by far their best band.
Love this song!! amazing performance !!! super groove !!! please come back to L42
Your playing on this is impeccable Gary...just wow! 😮
I’m here because I just watched Gary tearing it up with The Syd Lawrence Orchestra on the Les Dawson show in 1977 when he was 16. Great moment.
Mark King's total independence between his vocal lines and stellar bass playing is a thing of wonder. Formidable!!!!!
Like father like son! Love Nathan! Especially in Level 42 but also Frost!
Every minute is amazing of this video for so many reasons! How is Gary Husband this good at drums and keys? It makes me feel like I have failed as a musician. Gary Husband and Alan Holdsworth both are such unique gifts for all of us to hear. THANK YOU Gary and Level 42.. Much love from Detroit MI.
Jesus christ...the pocket. Absolutely fantastic.
I am a big fan of Gary and his keyboards and drum performances, but boy, the rest of Level 42 are killers, too!
Mark, finally playing with musicians on his level = level 43...
Although on that time I miss Mike Lindup. I also love Lyndon Connah too. Very unique on playing and characteristic. Very best decision to bring him in this group on that time 🙂
Saw Gary H. Playing with A.H. live at a club in Rochester NY around 1990. Gary was wearing shorts, sneakers and no shirt, (as I remember it)
totally cookin', one of my favourites. What a band, wow! 🎼🎸🥁🎹😎
Gary makes this happen ..
Gary, your energy is so amazing. Thrilling.
Love this!!!❤
Gary is a thriller..wooaaa
Shorts, runners and no shirt 🎖yep, and he took no prisoners when I experienced Allan’s quartet in ‘95 at the Belly Up in Solana Beach CA. They were as lovely people as they were treacherously beastly on the bandstand. I will always count myself fortunate to be in a band that had an opening slot. I got free admission!! Got a chance to meet GH before they packed up. He said something to the effect that “I get to play two of the greatest bass players in the world : Jimmy and Mark.” Since I could only agree I bid him best of luck on the road and left him to pack up in peace🤣. In all seriousness he was real gracious.
Magic
Now that's REAL drum and bass. Shit hot.
