  • This is a really nice 1/10th scale 4WD R/C truck that features a 540 size brushed motor, full ball bearings, front LED's and best of all OIL FILLED shocks which is unheard of at this price of $68 after applying code BGPX9204E at checkout.

I know this is an old video but just wanted to make a comment. I have one of these trucks and I've been slowly upgrading it with parts from other rc trucks. As of right now I have big bore traxxas slash shocks on it, a brushless kit from Pxtoys, brushless servo, and am currently trying to find some better tires for it. It's a blast now.

This isn't old at all. Only a month or so. How long have you had the truck? Awesome job on the upgrades btw. It is a great jeep for the price!

@@RDsRCReviews I've had the truck since Christmas. The only issue I've encountered with the truck is the screws holding the upper suspension arms like to back out and then they fall off. I'm going to try to find a bolt and nut combo that will fit to remedy the issue. Other than that it's been really fun. It's actually too fast now. The brushless motor had a bigger gear on it which upped the top speed. It probably does 35 to 40 mph now. I haven't tested it with a gps so I'm only guessing. It's very unstable at top speed. It's more for just off road driving anyway.

Just an update on this rig. I burned out the original brushless esc and put a new one in it that seems much more powerful for some reason. The downside is I break this thing every time I take it out. Either axle pins snap, suspension screws come out, our the wheel nuts come off. I tighten everything every time I run it, even super glue screws in, but it still happens. After all the money I've put into this thing my advice would be, save up and buy a nice name brand rig. Arrma, Traxxas, Redcat, or something like that. I had a good time Frankensteining this thing together to make it a crazy off brand basher. The truth of the matter is that it still won't hold up no matter what preventative measures you take. If you buy one, keep it brushed and just take it for what it is. Trust me, your pocket will be better off.

Many thanks for sharing your experience and video footage of this quite interesting model with us…
    👍👍👍
I know that in RC there is always a lot of interest in top-speed, always was, always will…it is just naturally human…
    "How fast is it…?"
is by fare the most asked question we as rc hobbyists are hearing from people watching us having our fun… right…?
    😉🤣
A few thoughts about the speed topic with this vehicle, but suits other, similar models, also:
    • seeing how easily it goes over the gras (an other terrain in other videos…) it seems to me like it is more geared for descent top-speed in combination with better acceleration and torque; not as extreme as a crawler, but not for all over top speed either…
    • when a friend of yours achieved 23mph…did he use the stock battery or another 2S Lipo…? And did he charge it with the USB charger coming with the model or with a typical hobby grade charger like we rc hobbyist all do have…? Different battery and/or different charging can make quite some difference…
Most feelable is this, when the, within budget priced RTRs quite popular "blue cylindric style" battery-pack is replaced with a decent quality hobby grade Lipo. Even the "blue one" is also rated 7,4V just like the Lipo, this battery is lion technology and can not offer very high energy under load…but a decent good Lipo can…
    • and…last but not least… especially brushed motors plus the complete drive-train of a model can quite well "break in" with time; this effect should also not being underestimated…
Keep on having many, many more wonderful RC times…!
    Thorsten

I said in the video that I'm using the stock battery and I used my hobby grade charger. Not the stock charger.

Sorry, sorry, sorry… for not attentively enough listening…
      🙏😩🤣😊😉
However, I was more thinking of your friends 23mph result and what he was using…
keep on having a good time,

Nice looking vehicle bro, thanks for sharing. Judging from it's top speed, I'd have to assume that it was geared & built to be a crawler. I love that body, especially the cage on it for extra protection.

agreed DJ. Likely has a tiny pinion gear too. Geared for power, not top end.

What up guys, I agree! I have this same truck but got it off Amazon and in green. Red is my favorite color and on Amazon it only comes in green! Also, on Amazon the price is over 100 dollars close to double the price you mentioned for Banggood! That being said, I absolutely fell in love with that truck when I got it. But after running it around the third day a major issue surfaced with the half dogbone coming apart from wheel holders up front. To make a long story shorter, I alerted the company and they said they don't have spare parts available for it! The only thing that saved them from a bad review from me was the fact that I later left it in front of my heater which melter the awesome body really bad and I couldn't get a spare cover for it to do a presentable review. And also, I laid off the video reviews a little because me and Wifey had a baby 👌🏽
Have you seen spare parts for this on Banggood for this yet RD?

@@FrequentFlyerRC I've not seen any spare parts yet though they should be available soon. I think this is the first 1/10th scale from pxtoys so that is likely why. I wouldn't expect to find them on Amazon but BG and especially eBay should have them eventually. It is a cool looking truck and you rarely see oil filled shocks and a big 540 motor at this price but it is awfully slow. I wish it was brushless but then it would cost a lot more. It seems well built so that sucks yours is coming apart. I'll ask David aka Perth West OZ RC. He also reviewed the jeep. He may know something. Congrats on that baby bro!!

@@RDsRCReviews Dang - There oughta be a law. So OK - half the time I have my vehicles with slippers locked down so tight that they can't slip, but I just finished a couple of small 1/18 scale trucks, and with a 3 inch lead wheel weight, I can still flip them over with a punch out. Guess I need a tamer motor. I'm already running the biggest pinion I can fit in the gear housing.
It's a screamer though. I'm going to ask my neighbor (a State Trooper) if he can clock it with his radar gun. I'm betting 60mph+.

    • @RDsRCReviews
      @RDsRCReviews  4 года назад +1

@@larrydommer9109 yeah I hear ya. Though I've never seen a slipper on these cheap Chinese RTR. Only see them in the higher end stuff. However for the price this Jeep is pretty nice with oil filled shocks and the large size. It seems to do fine without a slipper since it is only brushed though some of my Tamiya cars had slippers on the same motors.
