It's been experimental and challenging, but the rewards look to be noticeably different flavours in the spirit. Here's eye-witness stuff of Head Distiller Adam Hannett and mash men Gillie and Graeme putting a mash in.

Been looking forward to the Bruichladdich rye since it was announced, but I feel for Gillie and Graeme when they are getting filmed here. I can mash in every day of the week without a worry, until there is engineers around measuring up for its replacement then I'm like 'don't fail now.'
At what age are you planning on maturing the Islay rye?

    This sounds very interesting.
A mixture of rye and peated barley might also be worth a try ;-)

Any news on the maturation of the spirit? When are you going to bottle? How to get information about the release?
