- So, we beat Golden Sun on the channel yesterday, but I heard through the grapevine that Golden Sun's toughest boss actually resides not on top of Venus Lighthouse, but deep beneath Crossbone Isle. Deadbeard lurks below, and today I'm testing my mettle against him and the many puzzles and floors of Crossbone Isle.

"Golden Sun[a] is a role-playing video game developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. It was released in August 2001 in Japan, November 2001 in North America and February 2002 in Europe. Golden Sun's story follows a band of magic-attuned teenagers called Adepts on a mission to protect the world of Weyard from alchemy, a potentially destructive power long ago sealed away. During their quest, the Adepts develop new magic abilities (called Psynergy), assist others, and learn more about why alchemy was sealed away. Golden Sun is followed by a sequel, The Lost Age, which together form a complete story.
Golden Sun began as a single planned game for the Nintendo 64 console, but became a mobile title for the Game Boy Advance over the course of development. Facing hardware constraints, the developers decided to split the game into two. Golden Sun was critically and commercially successful, being the top-selling game for four months in Japan and selling more than one million units worldwide. The game was praised as one of the best RPGs on a handheld, rivalling those on full-size game consoles. IGN's Craig Harris said that Golden Sun could "arguably be one of the best 2D-based Japanese RPGs created for any system."[2] The game spawned a series that includes three games and appearances in other media. Golden Sun was re-released for the Virtual Console via the Wii U eShop in April 2014."

TIP - on floor 4 with the statues that block you, you had the right idea... you need to get in the shadow and use cloak to get by the one pushing you down, you were just going a tad bit to far before using cloak and triggered the trap. EDIT - i saw another youtuber do this but they went from the side so you may need the halt psynergy to get the storm gear too. >^.^< the ones moving left and right can be frozen with halt (the same power you need for the djinn later)
I love that LP. I love the whole golden sun franchise. I recently played part one and two on 100%.
A few hints if you plan on playing the second one too.
Use your djini in Battle. For example:the earth barrier, you used in the dragon battle reduces the damage you take, to a small part of the original damage. Also you have djini to increase your attack, defense and speed. There is one battle in part 2, that needs full summoning power at the beginning.
In the inn's, you can restore your whole party's HP, pp and everything. Only revive and heal potion you can't do in the inn.
Items like weasle claw, smoke bomb, sleep bomb and similar, as well as the elixir, are pretty good at the beginning but you have way stronger psynergy soon. Use that and sell those items.
Don't waste money on normal weapons, as soon as you get weapons with special attack like the assassin's blade, buy only artefacts in the weapon shop.
If you kill an enemy with a djini of it's weakness, you get more exp and a bigger chance of a good item drop. For example saturos is mars, his weakness is Mercury. The weaknesses are Venus is weak to Jupiter, Nars is weak to mercury, Jupiter is weak to Venus and mercury is weak to Mars. Enemy's can give you strong weapons like atrophos staff I think it's called. The percentage is like 0.2% and by defeating them with their weakness, you increase the possibility. There are also ways to rng that.
But you did great, without those hints. So you may do with them what you want 😊
you need the halt Psynergy to stop the djinn >^.^< you can get the halt gem in Vale cave (you skipped it, cry)
