    👍👍 A TIP YOU WON'T REGRET... (what I learned from Michele and her team in the online course).. something I did with my new Maltese puppy. From the moment I brought her home, at least twice a week, I carried her into her future grooming salon. Let her watch all the dogs run around. Listen to the noises and smell the smells. The groomers would wash their hands and hold Luna and love on her. Same thing with her future vet clinic. Carried her in. Let her experience everything and the staff. They would love on her and play with Luna also. And these are just 5 minute little sessions. By the time she had her first Veterinary appointment and Grooming appointment, she was so excited. As everything was wildly familiar. Don't forget to pop some treats in your pup's mouth while you are doing this. And praise them. That positive Association will last a lifetime. To this day, her two favorite places to go are the veterinary clinic and the groomers. She could stay there all day long.

    My pup is now two years old, and thanks to the help from Michele and HTTADD, she is a joy in our lives. I've had dogs for years and wanted to "brush up" for this new pup -- I can't express how much help I got from Michele and her team! I'd learned those old alpha dog/be the pack leader concepts, and how I wish I'd known with my earlier dogs what I know today! No yelling, no punishment, no fear on either my part or my dog's -- we just started right off building a lasting relationship based on positive reinforcement, love and great training. And I know I've learned more than my puppy -- she isn't perfect, but she's perfectly wonderful to us! If you're looking to bring home a puppy in the future or soon, this is the right place to start!

    My rough collie puppy will join us at the end of this month at ten weeks old. We are so excited! Thanks for the video. I had never heard of the pheromone gadget and will look into it. I have already sent the Snuggle Puppy to the breeder to get mom’s scent infused. My sister-in-law recommended it as it was a great help when she got her golden retriever puppy.

    We have about four weeks to go before or little whippet puppy is coming home, we have already done a decent amount of puppy-proofing, making sure all cables and things that are tempting to chew - but not allowed to - are out of the way. We have also started shopping, we have definitely gone overboard, but we knew that would happen.
    I can't wait to go visit our puppy for the second time later this week. We're considering to bring the snuggle puppy, if it gets here in time, to really have the time to get all of that mom- and litter scent on it.

    Hoping to bring home a Scottish terrier puppy in April or May this year! This channel is SUPER helpful as we haven’t had a puppy before (although I grew up with several Scotties). It’s going to be really different for me being in the “mom” seat rather than the kid! 😂 Hubby & I have 4 kiddos (9,7,4&2) and homeschool. Looking forward to many more great videos to help me tackle the prep before puppy-time! Thanks Michelle! ❤🎉

    🐶🐶 the most wonderful and beneficial thing you can do for a new puppy is enroll in her online course called "30 days to puppy perfection". Preferably before you even bring your puppy home. It's a small price to pay. Cheaper than one trip to the pet store to buy a few supplies, toys, and some food. And it will set the stage for the rest of pups life to creating a successful and happy dog. And happy owners. A new puppy is a 15-year commitment. And if you go through the course before bringing your puppy home, there will be no surprises. You will be 10 steps ahead of the puppy at every moment. Will be the best experience you've had in your life. And I know this from experience myself!

    What are we supposed to use in the crate if you recommend no bed? Also you don't recommend pee pee pads, what should we use in the pen? Thank you 🙂

    • @HowToTrainADreamDog
      @HowToTrainADreamDog  Год назад

      We recommend no bedding at all in the crate while the puppy is young. As long as the crate has the plastic flooring, the puppy will be just fine on the floor. They lay on floors by choice many times! You can use a piece of linoleum or a high chair mat under the puppy pen to prevent damage to your floors, but not anything fabric or anything designed to encourage a potty break.
