    It has been weeks since resident bald eagle The First Lady has been seen in the National Arboretum in Washington DC. We were hopeful after seeing TFL exhibiting behaviors common to eagles that are preparing for eggs but now she hasn't been seen in a while and another bald eagle seems to have (for the moment) taken over as female half of this mated pair. In this video we see the the events that transpired that led to where things are now with the visitor V5 claiming the nest and Mr. P for herself.

    It's actually sad to see this. I've been caught up in two other nests and haven't been following here. As we know mated pairs rarely break their bond like we see here. I'm disappointed in Mr. P for allowing this clearly young Eagle to win his affections while TFL gets tossed aside. It must be horrible for a female Eagle to lose her nest and mate and be forced to watch her mate nest with another. Especially during this time when she's having hormonal changes and no one to have eggs with or any place to lay them for the season. TFL should have been more aggressive this season and I suppose we don't know why she acted like shes did so far with not laying and being gone for long periods. Disheartening but informative💔. Thanks AEF❤

    • @marypritchett115
      @marypritchett115 3 года назад +14

      We can speculate that TFL’s inability to produce eggs for multiple seasons gave Mr. President grounds for divorce. Eagle partnerships and bonds all revolve around successful reproduction. They take it seriously. Hate to see TFL driven off but am also hopeful he can give this new young eagle her first experience of motherhood. Fingers crossed.

    I am guessing since TFL has not produced eggs for 2 years, MP has moved on. He wants babies to take care of and it is his instinct to have a mate that does. It is sad but I hope she is able to move on and live healthy without having a major fight and getting hurt. MP obviously was warning her too when she passed by the nest, she is now an outsider to him. In seeing that I can't believe she would try and fight for the nest since he has now bonded with the other female. I hope they are successful with eggs as the female is just at maturity due to her colors. She will have some major learning curves which MP will help her with. Let's see if they can get all the way through babies fledging. One nest (shadow) is still learning what to do and it is the 3rd year and that nest is still making mistakes and losing their eggs and babies. I wish them the best and am glad that TFL has not been hurt with the takeover. Hopefully she still has a nice long life ahead of her.

TFL and Mr P already mated for the season and now he has allowed her to be driven from her nest....what will happen to TFL if an egg is imminent and she has no nest to lay it in.....where would she find a suitable/safe place to lay the egg😔......this is so sad....please update if she is ever seen.....thank you

    So what is the protocol for an eagle in TFL's position? Does she seek out another mate? Does she never mate again? Does anyone know?

    • @Luceforall
      @Luceforall 3 года назад +7

      Just a guess... unless something has changed in her, it stands to reason that she will seek (or be sought by) another mate. I have no idea of her age, so impossible to say if this has anything to do with it, although I have read that eagles can lay eggs up to old age, provided they are healthy.

    • @SS11660
      @SS11660 3 года назад +3

      The big issue is why hasn't she had eggs over the last 2 seasons! .is this a reason in nature. for a male to take a new mate when their goal is procreation. ??

    • @Luceforall
      @Luceforall 3 года назад +5

      @@SS11660 Well, I have read that mated pairs can and do split if they have some consecutive failures at producing eggs. Yes, nature is oriented towards the continuation of the species. Again, all is speculation as we cannot have any idea why eggs were not produced. If Mr P does manage to produce eggs with the new mate, we may speculate that perhaps TFL has gone sterile, but at the moment there is also the possibility that the young female is not ready yet.

    It would’ve been nice if some others captured the moment as well to have the chance to see the whole thing either extended and/or unedited, but as you only got this moment, I’d say oof, as this is more like a Story or so to what goes on & especially in edited in like very short Clips or so, including the 1 part that sorta cuts out in the moment & replaced with the Texting at 2:22. 😐🤔
    I also have a feeling that even getting the whole extended and/or unedited moment would just result in RUclips removing it in violation of their Policy on Violent/Graphic Content. Right? 🤔
    Well, it’s sad however for TFL to break up with Mr. P, as V5 is now Mr. P’s new Girlfriend… 🙁😔
