It'd be difficult for him to beat Kobe because Kobe got all his moves plus Reggie Miller's step back three, Olajuwon's post moves, Dirk Nowitzki's one-legged fadeaway, etc.
But MJ will still win though.

Kobe indeed was the closest we saw anyone come to MJ. Major props to Kobe.
It was easier for Jordan to just be himself. Jordan was just himself. Kobe, with hard work had to override all his instincts as a player and literally implemented every Jordan move.
Its harder to copy someone successfuly than be yourself. Everyone can tell you that.
Jordan was just the perfect prototype of a basketball player. Perfect genetics for basketball. Killer instinct, fanaticism and desire for winning and love for the game. Jordan didnt even need to force himself to work hard. His fanaticism and desire for winning demanded it.
Kobe on the other hand, was like a machine. He was cold, calculating and hard worker. He had to develop the mindset to become what he became. When he came to the league aged 17, Kobe was green, petulent, insolent his ego was not in check and he was making questionable plays all the time. He was missing important shots.
Shaq was right to be mad at him. Kobe was acting like a spoiled kid.
but then Kobe changed. Something changed in 2007 and he turned to the Black Mamba. He wasnt like that at all before. He became cold, serious af.

RUBBISH. Kobe had that mindset as a ROOKIE.
Kobe, not Shaq, is the common denominator in the LAKERS winning rings. Remember, Shaq was already in his PRIME by the time Kobe was drafted and wasn't "carrying" LA to NBA Finals DESPITE having Eddie Jones (all star), Nick Van Axel (all star) and Cedric Ceballos (all-star caliber talent).
How many WESTERN CONFERENCE Titles did Shaq win before Kobe?
      ZERO.
How many times did Shaq get SWEPT in the playoffs before Kobe became old enough to legally buy alcohol? SIX.
How come Kobe OUTPLAYED PRIME SHAQ in the 2000 WCF, 2001 WCF, and the 2002 WCF (the de facto NBA Finals in that era due to how putrid the Leastern Conference was, and still is)?
Kobe ARGUABLY CARRIED Shaq during their 3 peat:
2000 - Game 7 Vs the Blazers = Kobe was the best player and CARRIED them from 20 points down to win the game.
      1) Kobe Bryant 25 points and 11 rebounds 7 assist and the key assist to Shaq at the end.
      2) "MVP" Shaq put up 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 5.0 assist and was OUTSCORED and OUTREBOUNDED by Kobe in game 7.
In the 8 games that were a one possession game in the final 2 minutes of play:
      lakers went 7-1 overall
"MVP" Shaq in those games put up 2 points.
      2/4 FT line
Kobe in those same games put up 19 points.
      6/9 shooting and 7/8 FT
No other laker scored above 4 points in those 8 total games in that period of time.
2001 - Without Kobe, Shaq would have kept losing to the spurs because DUNCAN WAS BETTER THAN SHAQ. Look it up, Duncan routinely outplayed Shaq regular and post season head to head. Kobe was the best player vs the spurs - which was the 2nd best team in the league and the best defensive team. Kobe Bryant averaged a ridiculous 33.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists vs the BEST DEFENSIVE TEAM IN THE NBA in the 2001 SWEEP of the Spurs in the de facto NBA Finals. SA would've thrashed Philly. Kobe Bryant LED ALL PLAYERS in the 2001 Playoffs in Win Shares. ALL players, including PRIME Shaq and PRIME Duncan. How many "sidekicks" in NBA history have led the entire playoffs in Win Shares? Exactly.
2002 - Kings were better than Kobe and Shaq but Lakers got favorable calls. Still, Kobe led ALL PLAYERS in 4th Quarter scoring and that was the deciding factor in the entire series: 4th quarter scoring.
So minus Kobe, Shaq does NOT get out the west to feast on the WEAK east in the finals with their WEAK centers (old Dikembe, old Rik Smits, Jason Collins on the Nets? LOL).
Shaq already had Penny and was 0-1 in the finals.
And then he had TWO other all star guards in Nick Van Axel and Eddie Jones and STILL got swept twice.
98-99 Kobe started but SPLIT USAGE with Eddie Jones and they got swept but then 3 straight rings after that.
Imagine if Kobe had STARTED AS A ROOKIE like half of these BUM first round picks? Kobe's career scoring average would be neck and neck with MJ and the Lakers MAY have won 6 rings in the Kobe Era instead of 5 because his growth would've been accelerated with starter minutes and starter PRESSURE. Coach Harris, Kobe's rookie coach, had a draconian rule about starting rookies even though Kobe was cooking everybody in practice.
      ____________________________
Kobe has a HIGHER BOX +/- score than Shaq in the NBA Finals:
      36 to 32

      One last point:
2000 Finals vs Indiana. Jalen Rose injures Kobe's ankle (severe sprain, borderline grade 3 sprain) really badly. Kobe MISSES Game 3? Guess what. LA LOSES that game 3 without Kobe. So Kobe comes back and PLAYED THE REST OF THE FINALS INJURED and saves Shaq's legacy. How? Shaq FOULED OUT in game 4. Kobe led ALL players in 4TH/OT scoring and hit the GW FG in OT to win the game. 3-1. Indiana WON game 6, so if Kobe doesn't put on his superman cape WHILE SERIOUSLY INJURED, the ENTIRE series may have gone Indiana's way. Because if they lost that OT game, it's 2-2, and assuming history proceeds as it did, then they win Game 6 in blowout fashion, and then game 7 is anybody's guess.
Do you know why MJ is the most CLUTCH PLAYER EVER. He never even let it get to game 7. Now THAT'S clutch. 6-0, zero went to 7 games. Kobe was MJ's true heir, forget stats, he understood how to seize the moment.
Kobe led ALL players in the 2001 Playoffs in Win Shares. ALL players. NAME ONE SIDEKICK IN NBA HISTORY TO EVER TO THAT?
NAME ONE SIDEKICK IN LEAGUE HISTORY that lead an entire playoff run in Win Shares.
You can't find one in NBA HISTORY because they don't exist. Kobe is a top 5 player all time (MINIMUM - really top 2 ever).
      Mic Drop.
