I am very grateful for the education I obtained from VA Claims Academy. I was in a unique situation. My injuries were not in combat, not in training. I was in a Blackhawk Air Ambulance crash that was made Classified. I am now 50% rated and preparing to file for the remainder. Thanks Again.
I was rated for neck, back, sciatica, knees, and feet over 10 years ago (all as primary issues). Never knew to file for documentable psychological issues. Filed my ITF 4/24 and tried to get scheduled with the mental doctors at the same time. I'm just now getting my appointments. Its been a very slow process.
Just took a C&P for this and all I have to say is be ready. Watch this channel and others to gain some info on what maybe asked and how to prepare. When you get to the C&P make sure you speak up because at least for me they just started asking some basic questions and I didn’t even know we had started. Thought she was just filling out some paper work still. Don’t think mine went very well and I tried to convey how my condition affects my work and social life but the last five minutes was spent with her telling me I needed to be my own advocate and go back to the VA and see if I could get surgery. I’ll be working on getting what she wrote down because she didn’t seem to write much when i did speak up.
@@guillermodvl good luck! I was denied for my left ankle back in 06. The doctor file it as Ankle Sprain and was denied because x-ray didn't show permanent damage and I only went to sick call one time. I am about to file a supplemental claim because I continue to sprain the same ankle after I got out and I needed surgery last year.
US Army/Army Reserve '67 to '01. Great job. The 'Rental' concept comparison is eye opening. Oh yes and if we were killed, a whopping $10,000.00. Makes so much sense.
Question - how am I supposed to see a doctor before I file a claim if 1) the VA won't see me because I'm not service connected and 2) I don't have medical insurance because I am a contractor (who is moving out of the country) any tips?
Got out of army 24 years ago. Never went on sick call and never deployed. But since I got out I’ve always been very quick tempered, always angry, got in many street fights, was mean and rude to my family and never knew why. Saw a psychiatrist last month and he said I suffer from severe depression and general anxiety disorder and mild PTSD. So HOW do I service connect it now 24 YEARS AFTER I got out of army for VA disability?? Please help.🙏🏿
go to VA tell your doc about it, get said doc to setup appointments for mental health. also get letters from friends and family about your issues and see a VSO to submit for disability.. im in the same boat.. did 20 retired in 07 getting only 20% and i file just about yearly and always denied yet i look in my c-file and it shows stuff like rt shoulder issues dating back to 1995 yet VA answer not enough evidence or worked on naval aircraft for 20 years ringing in the ears since 1990 Va answer your hearing is fine.. yadda yadda
You can write a personal statement. Have your family members write a personal statement. See if your psychiatrist will write a nexus for you and then file your claim.
Start a claim at the VA saying the conditions you have stated how your life got affected because of the Army. They will schedule a psychology appointment. I was like you no deployment only the NG for 14 years and they gave me a compensation for anxiety and depression, make sure you talk everything to the psychologist about how your life has been affected because of the Army.
Where can you get a nexus? My pcp won't write me one. I filed my secondary claims and I'm pretty sure they're getting denied. I have a 10% rating for tinnitus.
I have recently increased my rating to 80%. I also have a claim in for Stomach/abdominal issues and it moved to step 5 of 8. The VA has opened a Fiduciary Claim, What can I do to fight that?
@@Traveltheworldtube yeah that wont happen.. they got paid by the VA they wont do a nexus cause they will be taken off the list of examiners.. i got friends at the VA in St. Pete whove told me that
How about being prescribed depression and anxiety medication but didn’t visit a specialist just a primary doctor with assessment recommended the medication! Can I claim PTSD Depression and anxiety to include inmsonia?
Not sure I went to my primary doctor on base! After some questions and assessment he recommended depression and anxiety medication! That’s all! I guess I’m diagnosed!
had a2 week stay in a hospital when I was in the Marines and they did a spinal tap every day and recently had a mri and it showed that the spot that all the taps was bone on bone
How much weight does a C & P examiner hold concerning influencing the rater's decision? By the time my C & P exam was over, they told me they would recommend a 100% disability rating to VA. I have had Radon exposure and acquired lung cancer. The base where I was stationed showed it had very high levels of Radon, actually documented by the EPA. What chances do you think I have of being rated fairly?
part of your VA doctors job description is to help you fill out paperwork, including DBQ‘s and Nexus statements. VHA has promulgated a memo instructing VHA doctors and health professionals to assist VETERANS with filling out their paperwork. They may not like it, but it is their job. Out of respect when you make the appointment just tell them “it’s to help me fill out some VA paperwork” . also, I bring in all of my forms with whatever needs to be pre-filled out completed. And I help them help me…. also is the sidebar “illegal” to buy or sell Nexus letters…. plus what kind of vulture would charge of veteran for completing a document that connects their disability to their service? Whoever that is don’t ever thank me for my service just saying….
ALL mental health issues are rated the same (1 rating for all), meaning you can't pyramid the issues to get more. You might be able to get a secondary mental to some other non-mental primary.
I really need help with my claims I got 40% and did 7years with deployment and other pro that only did basic or less than 3 have better ratings than me 😢😢😢😢
My VA Doctor is as worthless as they come. He refuses to give any diagnosis of any kind, I always end up having to go to my private Doctor for a diagnosis.
way too many hypotheticals and hamming it up in front of a video camera. can you please cut these videos shorter and just get to the point. thank you very much for everything you do you're a great person but please get to the point with these videos. none of them should be this long.

Foling is a waste of time and nobody needs to bother. I was denied for migraines even though I have 70% for PTSD. They also denied my tinnitus for absolutely no reason. The VA gave me hearing aids for it but they refuse to actually recignize it. 100% no longer exists and P&T has been abolished. They did a PTSD reeval trying to downgrade me, so static conditions aren't a thing anymore, either.
If you are a veteran you need to vote for Harris/Walz 2024. Walz served honorably for 24 years in support of OIF and OEF. Trump avoided serving by lying about his bone spurs and paying his personal doctor to lie for him. Trump hates the military. Trump openly called all veterans suckers and losers, there's video of him proudly saying this. Trump vows to shut down the VA end VA disability. You will lose all your benefits if you vote for Trump. He has promised to deport all black and brown people, even if they are citizens! Trump has promised to imprison all his political enemies! We must save democracy by electing Harris/Walz 2024!

It took me numerous times to get service connected for headaches. However, I was finally able to get service connected at 50%. You can get 100%, you just have to stay at it.
