    This is the best sewing video I've seen so far!!!! Good pace and excellent explanation of details. If I don't have the tape for the neckline, are there any other options to have my neckline that smooth? Can you also upload videos for men clothing? I can't find them anywhere. It's just women everywhere lol! Keep up with the good work. Much love from Boston. 😄

      Hello Chantal,
      Thank you so much for your kind compliment, I sincerely appreciate it.
      Two other ways of finishing the neckline, if you don't have store-bought bias tape:
      1) Use the facing technique, where you cut a piece of fabric shaped like the neckline and sew on the blouse. (search "Neckline Facing" on RUclips, you'll find a video).
      2) OR cut a one-inch strip of fabric diagonally from the fabric, that's how you make your own bias tape (search "how to make bias tape" on RUclips, you'll find a video).
      Best wishes!

    Buba(blouse) and Iro(wrapper) is a yoruba traditional outfit. Its clasdic because it jas come through the years and has gone through various slight changes and back to the original design. It cam be sew to it comtemporary style of a fitted blouse and its wrapper that could also have a wrap tie at each end. Its elegant and can be sew with any material today or with mixed materials.

    I'm just seeing this and I subscribed immediately...this is the best and really explanatory..but please what measurement do we use for the buba circumference..i'm guessing the bust??

    • @NedouxSews
      @NedouxSews  5 лет назад +1

      Hello, thank you so much for visiting my channel. To get the Buba circumference, first pick the wider between your Hip and Bust measurement. Then add wearing ease (of 4 to 6 inches) to that number.
      Have a nice day!

    Tnx soo much but how will u cut buba and then get 2 1/2 wrapper and a scarf from 5yrds pls

    • @NedouxSews
      @NedouxSews  7 лет назад +1

      Hello Jumia,
      Thank you for watching.
      The wrapper requires is 2 yards and 12 inches, the remaining 2 yards and 24 inches will be shared between the buba and scarf.
      The amount left for the scarf depends on your body size and how much is required to sew a buba that fits your body.

      Hello Tolu, Thank you so much for your kind comment.
      I explained how to properly measure the Buba Blouse armhole from the 10:28
      minute mark. It's a generic measurement because it's a blousy loose fit. :-)

    What if I wanted to line it. What kind of lining do you recommend and how would I attach the lining?

    • @NedouxSews
      @NedouxSews  7 лет назад +1

      Hello Nyanloro,
      The lining fabric used would depend on the choice of shell fabric. In the case of wax print fabric (which I used), I'd line with a light-weight cotton.
      1)Sew another buba body with the lining fabric
      2)Attach lining to the buba body by sewing around the neckline
      3)Flip the lining inwards, and understitch around the neckline.
      4)Leave the sleeves unlined.
