Great work as always! :) Recommended sections for future videos; - additional ways to tweak the system (for example, using your own images as boot-up screens etc.) - recommended RetroArch settings per system - how to utilise and run systems that require Kickstart files/multi-disc games (AMIGA/PS1 etc.)
Your videos on the RG35xx and Garlic OS are by far the most comprehensive (and clear!) overviews I've found on the constantly evolving subject. Amazing work!
Adding to what the first poster said, not only would I like to see best settings for each emulator, I’d like to see examples/recommendations for best filters (since we don’t have shaders) for each emulator. Thanks for all of your work. Your videos are very in-depth and much appreciated.
Now I have 1.4.6 and my battery no longer heating so mush when I'm playing ps1 games and also I noticed more power efficiency. So I surely can recommend the last version for the time being
Thanks for the videos Henry. Is there somewhere I can find the 1.3.4 version? I downloaded the latest 1.4.7 and the performance is much worse than the stock OS. Thanks!
I'm just buying rg35xx, and I want to intall the garlic os for the first time. Should I install the lastest version (1.4.6) or install the 1.3.4 version first?
Most people are having good luck with 1.4.6. Especially on the new revisions of the RG35XX. I have been sticking to 1.3.4 only for the USB controllers, but I honestly only tried up to version 1.4.5 myself. Only so much time in the day.
I have problems with Garlic OS on my RG35XX, all PS1 rom (pbp, chd, img, bin & iso) are not working at all. I'm currently running on ver. 1.4.9. I want to know which version of Garlic OS can run PS1 game?
It seems not easy to get everything working. First I tried to copy the games from the original SD card as is. Some folder names are different. I had to move many zip files out of folders. I have a great many PS games from the original SD card that I don't know how to run. Maybe somebody could explain it to me? I tried adding some arcade games and it is hit or miss. Some games just don't run. I would like to know if there is a choice of emulators? I had to watch a video to learn all the shortcuts with the menu button. I had an easier time setting up hakchi for the NES Classic.

Yeah, ports are specific games that instead of being emulated the code has been ported to run on the device. You can find a list of ports on rg35xx.com
It the USB controller support that had me downgrade. I tried 1.4.5 and no matter what I mapped the controller buttons to, L1 would power off the RG35XX. Had to go back to 1.3.4 to have them work again. I know most people don't bother with USB controllers so it's an uncommon issue.
Upgrade to the latest version. Recent Garlic OS updates fix this error on some new versions of the RG35XX. You want to download "RG35XX-MicroSDCardImage.7z.001" and "RG35XX-MicroSDCardImage.7z.002"
@henryknox when I got my save file to load now on 1.4.7 I transferring it the way you said but now when I try to do an in-game save on pokémon fire Red it just stays stuck on the saving don't turn off your system
It could be a bad rom file. You might want to get a different copy of the rom. It could also be an issue with how the save states work with the save game data. Wheb using stock OS, does playing ps1 games heat up the device?
Your videos are perfect, thank you so much for doing them. How about a video about MinUI next?

This has a link to a Mega archive with most of the old versions of Garlic OS.
@@henrynox4244 Awesome, thank you! Going back to 1.3.4 solved the issues. Runs super smooth now.
1.4.6 is good now with GBA and PSX. Last few updates were problematic with the performance.
Old cores for GBA and PSX were better.
I've just got a xx and I reverted back to the stock OS. It was too much messing around. Epecally with ps1 games... Just a mess.
can you do a tutorial installing koriki or batocera in this console? please :c

Where to download GarlicOS 1.3.4? I am having the same L1 problem :(
Is there any special setup to get an Xbox controller working with it? Plugging it in doesn’t seem to work out of the box. I’m on Garlic OS now.

Is there any reason you’re not upgrading to the newest update of 1.4.6? Are there some bugs in it? I’ve been playing on it and haven’t noticed any.
