Breathtaking. After listening to classical piano my entire 58 years, this is suddenly my favorite piece. I hear strong, clear, angelic voices singing in harmony. The beauty of their emotion brings me to tears.
this piece gives me such a sublime but dark feeling at the same time, it's weird, it's hard to explain, it feels like I'm watching the starry night while thinking of the good times that have passed so quickly, it feels like nostalgia, it feels very blissful and then it hits you with so many feelings that you never can explain, or put into words, not to mention how beautifully you played it, thank you for this

I’m honestly just always on the verge of tears when I listen to this piece. I guess it’s the memories that for some reason I’ve associated to it or purposely associated to it. Mixed with the fact that this is just outright beautiful music and incredible. Whatever it is… only music can make me feel this way… truly.
This song makes me cry, because it has such a beauty that I can’t imagine anything in real life matching. Maybe my partner is the closest I’ve got to this feeling, but even still this song pierces my heart.
@@irodragon7184 The transcription has both French and German lyrics on it, so yes, it's a song. And even beyond that, a transcription of a song is still enough to be a song. @@noonehere0987 so is songs without words called song even though it has no words or was intended to have them. I'm more of the person who thinks if it has no lyrics in the current arrangement being played it's not called a song just an arrangement of one. I believe it is called a piece. Amazing piece and amazing transcription by Liszt. There is surely a reason why they are legends! 200 years later and their music is still so much loved and will never die.

this piece gives me such a sublime but dark feeling at the same time, it's weird, it's hard to explain, it feels like I'm watching the starry night while thinking of the good times that have passed so quickly, it feels like nostalgia, it feels very blissful and then it hits you with so many feelings that you never can explain, or put into words, not to mention how beautifully you played it, thank you for this

Mixed with the fact that this is just outright beautiful music and incredible. Whatever it is… only music can make me feel this way… truly.
Which one do you prefer, arranging or composing?
Liszt: Yes.
That's probably the most beautiful thing I've ever heard
Schubert music is like a soft ointment on a wound, soothing and yet inspiring!
I feel like if this piece of music understands parts of my inner-self more than I do.
This song makes me cry, because it has such a beauty that I can’t imagine anything in real life matching. So it feels impossibly beautiful, and that makes me sad that nothing I’ve known or probably will ever know has this beauty. Maybe my partner is the closest I’ve got to this feeling, but even still this song pierces my heart.
Not a song, and there are plenty of other "pieces" that are much more beautiful
Irodragon, it is in fact a song, as it has lyrics to it.
@@rowanenyeart6373 transcription of a song to a piano with no lyrics so no it's a piece
@@irodragon7184 The transcription has both French and German lyrics on it, so yes, it's a song. And even beyond that, a transcription of a song is still enough to be a song. If I did a piano cover of The Beatles' Don't Let Me Down, you'd not be trying to flex your ignorance if someone called it a song.
@@noonehere0987 so is songs without words called song even though it has no words or was intended to have them. I'm more of the person who thinks if it has no lyrics in the current arrangement being played it's not called a song just an arrangement of one. I believe it is called a piece. The definition of song is "a short poem or other set of words set to music or meant to be sung." It isn't words set to music it's just the music. Only when words are added is it a song. This just cuts to your soul, exquisitely beautiful and at the same time deeply melancholic. The pacing, the tempo, is near perfect as many other versions are a bit too fast for a piece this melancholic it needs to be played as this is played. Staggering to think this is nearly 200 years old.
