Just stumbled across your site - was listening to Savoy Brown and hoped there'd be a decent lesson on line - You pretty much nailed it!! I was curious if you put heavy gage strings on the strat for slide work - and do you somehow raise your bridge as well? I've only seen Kim play it on a Les Paul, but again you sound great with your strat! I got a Nashville Tele with #10 strings but it sounds real thin... any tips? Thanks again for the lesson, looking forward to exploring your site.
Maybe you'll be surprise that I use 8 gauge strings, it's more of my playing (light touch) and settings . The thickness of the sound with regards with the thickness of the strings was already been tested and debunked.( Also with my experienced) I use 8"s now on all my guitars and use it even on my metal covers.
