You are so amazing I watch all your DIYs on my TV . I love everything you do. I am 79 years old and I use to work like you do . Still try but wear out soon. There is not many like you anymore. Love your Videos
“Your” style is the “right” style! Life is too short to decorate, dress, etc to what is trendy, just to be “in”. Proudly own whatever color or style you like. :) You are very talented and I thank you for sharing your creativity and talent.
Hi, Cory! Thanks for taking us shopping with you! Blue is definitely having a moment right now and I am thrilled! All your projects were lots of fun and turned out really great. This was a perfect thrifting video! The frame on that watercolor would not be original to that painting, if it is by the artist. The back shows it was not professionally framed. Maybe take it out of the frame and see if it is an original watercolor or a print of one. If it’s an original, I would suggest taking it somewhere to have it professionally framed with preservation quality glass and backing. Michael’s and Hobby Lobby both have that capability. Original art can retain its value if it is well cared for. Without UV glass and without a backing to protect it from dust and grit, watercolors can deteriorate quickly. You might actually have an heirloom that will show up on in-the-future “Antiques Roadshow!”🌸
I would paint the frame white. At the moment, the frame is competing with the painting for attention. I love all your DIY transformations but the lamp is my favourite :-)
I would totally put the Sullivan painting into a different frame and fix up the bamboo frame for something else. The ideas clash. Bamboo and field flowers doesn't look nice to me. I would put the painting in a nice thin white frame. The lamp is my favorite project today!
This painting deserves a more classic frame to show "frame" it's beauty. Reframing will bring it to the next level of sofistication. What about a golden or silver frame?
Loved your video today! So glad you made the statement about it being your style! I think many people think they need to follow the trends and end up spending a lot of money every year!
Love the watercolor! I'd reframe it in a white, distressed wooden frame. I don't care for the frame it's currently in, I'd probably re-donate that to Goodwill. Good haul!
Loved the outcome of the church pew. More than that loved the birth story. What a great story and it is so nice of you and your husband to share. She is a cutie.
I am a watercolor artist. Definitely reframe and matte the painting to update it. You will get years more pleasure out of it with an up to date presentation.
Love that lamp the most! I always see lamps at the thrift store but never think to paint them. Thanks for the inspo, Cory! Hmm, if you're keeping that frame i think it would look nice in black. Would let the art pop and the frame would stand out on your neutral wall color. BTW, the toy box and your sons reaction just melted my heart. Thanks for taking us along!
I really love this video! And I too am in love with that deep navy color. You surprised me with that lamp and the plates. Your creativity is contagious.
Hi Corey, thanks for the fun video. Fun projects!! I’m itching to thrift and look for something navy now. Btw, I agree about the lamp shades, I wish Goodwill would not separate them. If I don’t care for the shade on a lamp that I purchase I simply donate it back again. It’s always nice to have the option of the original shade. So nice to have you posting again, you and your channel are a favorite of mine. 😍
Love all of your DIYs! Iam going back & watching all of your Videos! I Also flip furniture! Gives me a Calming sense over me! And Great Satisfaction I Saved a piece of furniture!❤❤❤❤🐶
What a fun video Cory ...and for the water color frame is go with gel stain in White and do gold wisps over the Details of the bamboo ..I think that will compliment the Art To Maybe Go By where you Put your keys and mail🥰❣️👍
I really like the frame and think it goes well with the watercolor painting. I have found that when I'm drawn to something, it'll work in my decor - so if you like it as is, try it out in various spots.
Alcohol proof refers to the lacquer finish on the tray, which (theoretically) wouldn't be affected by alcohol, unlike shellac. Nice score on the watercolor. I'd definitely get a nicer frame for it...one that is more in tune with your traditional aesthetic.
That was a fun video, Corie! About the frame... is there any way to find out from the artist if she framed it like that? I'm thinking a white frame will wash out the painting itself, perhaps a green that's in the foliage with a dry brush white overtop. Thanks for the nightcap video!
I would leave the painting alone. I had those plate racks twenty years ago. I’m a traditional girl myself and love your style. It sets you apart from other you tubers. I have lots of blue and white chinoiserie sprinkled throughout my home. I really liked what you did with the lamp
If it's an early one of her paintings, it will be worth even more than current ones. Paint the frame, definitely. I agree, it likely didn't come in that frame. Actually people have found valuable paintings at thrift stores plenty, so, yes, always worth your time to look. Also, you can find gorgeous old real wood frames. I am a painter myself and found a huge (3 ft) round painting in a gorgeous old frame. I didn't care for the painting, sort of an old " 17th century English picnic on the grounds" (cardboard printed) piece. I wanted it for my country kitchen pantry area. I planned to toss the painting and paint a totally new scene, but I actually ended up keeping a good bit of the background image, and painted a quaint old farmhouse and farm scene into the focal point, and added foreground shrubs and foliage that covered up the ladies in 17th century dresses and their picnic basket. I was very pleased with the final image and no one would ever know it was an altered piece. I was a little amazed to have pulled it off, frankly. It was not an "original painting" before, now it is! I think I paid seven bucks for the piece, and I have no doubt I could make a decent profit if I wanted to sell it, but I won't, it will be something I pass on to my kids. I like the concept of "altered art". I love taking something old and giving it a new lease on life. I am like you, in being able to invision what something can become, be it a house, an old piece of furniture, even jewelry. I am glad to see many of your generation appreciate the stewardship aspect of repurposing and repairing instead of running out and overpaying for mass produced things, furniture made of compressed sawdust, and cookie cutter "McMansions". Everyone who visits my home always says how cozy and inviting it feels. That's the "permanence" of stuff with history that they are feeling, and a home that is lived-in rather than being a showcase. Works for me and mine! I love how people have been able to do things they love, and make an income out of it by posting videos as you do. Enjoy your new home and the fun of exploring new surroundings! You are blessed with a wonderful big family too, so glad to see folks out there who want more than "1.3 children", lol. Nothing more awesome in life than getting to be a mom if you ask me. I was an RN, but being Mom is the job I have loved the most.
My favorite project is the lamp. It’s beautiful! The frame for the watercolor isn’t a good match. I’d switch out the frame for something that is a better option.
Hi Corey, I’m new to your channel but I just love all your clips and creations!! I’ve been binging on your content and and going to God will next week to see what I can find. Wish me luck 😃
Loved the lamp..and everything else. I am German and Norwegian. My family name was Von Schlieken....spell that as a child !😆 Also look forward to seeing your videos.
I love the plate racks! I have been collecting for a little while and have quite a few! I used to own a bakery and have my antique platters and plates from my bakery and am planning on displaying some on them!
Great video! I would try the watercolor with frames you already have to get an idea of what it would look like. Would save the frame it's in now to use on another painting. I would paint it though.
What a great haul Cory! I love going in Goodwill and the Salvation Army…can usually find some good stuff. Love that lamp! Good job on all of your finds! 🥰🥰🥰
White in the wide middle section with variegated greens, like in the foliage or leaves Kay Sullivan painted, on the bamboo inner and outside work. My idea anyway. I looked her up, too. I like her work. Floral watercolors should be delicate. Good eye, Cory.
This was a fun video to watch. I love your creativity in repurposing thrift store items and giving them new life. Thanks for sharing these transformations with us. Congrats on finding the water color painting. I agree with Mayberry. I'd try painting the trim on the frame with paint close to the original color to see if you could save it. If this doesn't work, I'd be tempted to take it to a professional matting provider. It seems to be worth investing a little money in.
The existing frame is doing nothing for that painting. Take it out & use a proper mounting board (mat board) with a good wide border to show off the painting and a more low key frame. Use the bamboo frame for something else.
Just like you, I love the navy blue. I have blue and white plates hanging on my walls. I love traditional. But blue would not go well with the painting. Maybe same color of the flowers and a green like the stems.
Yes the paintings near, but frame color needs changed, not blue, but a light whiteish or beige ish color. Real neutral so the print will stand out. Nice finds.
I just love your videos!! You are so talented and have the greatest ideas. I couldn't believe it when you mentioned that you are of Prussian heritage. My father came from East Prussia. How great is that? Maybe that's where you get your love for the color blue from. That famous Prussian Blue. Thanks for the great videos.
Can’t wait to see what you do with plate rack/hangar. I see them all the time at GE and scratch my head to figure out how it could be repurposed. Do you have suggestions if I do not have a Cricut? Thanks….I am tardy to party so I apologize in advance.
Hello Cory ~ You found some nice items! The plates, the shirt, the lamp, the toy box ! I wish we had stores like that around me! My husband had surgery in a city about an 1 hour away, our daughter and I actually found a Salvation Army to visit while there , it was mostly clothing items. Her daughter ( OUR GRANDBABY 😩) is getting married next summer , so we were looking for some items she wants on the tables….NO LUCK! Booo ! That lamp looks fabulous in the deep blue with the gold ! The toy box is so cute ! Our youngest daughter has a 3 and 4 year old ( my girls are 2 years apart….one has her oldest getting married and the youngest daughter has her oldest starting SCHOOL !!!🤪 …. They did not do as I told them to do with this grandbabies ….LOL!!! I wanted them all at once …not 15 - 16 years apart… the 42 yr old is wishing she had teenagers and not a 3 and 4 year old…but God gave them children when He was ready… not when Grandma wanted them🤷♀️) ANYWAYS… the 4 year old ( our only BOY in the family ) is ALL ABOUT TRUCKS , TRACTORS AND EQUIPMENT like your son….so cute ! I made a similar Truck for his room on my Cricut like what you did…he loves it. So great to see you looking healthy and strong again… Pray everyone is doing wonderful !!!! 💛💛🙏🙏🙏💛💛
Hi Cory,, You got some awesome stuff and they all turned out so good. Our Goodwill is way out of control in pricing, I won’t shop there anymore,,,RIDICULOUS ! Yeah paint the frame sweet girl. Gods Bless y’all ❤️

I would paint the frame a complimentary green and white wax to bring out all the detail in the frame. Loved all your upcycles!
I would paint the frame white. At the moment, the frame is competing with the painting for attention. I love all your DIY transformations but the lamp is my favourite :-)
Thank you!!!
Be sure to remove the painting from the frame before you repaint the frame so no damage happens to the painting.
The lamp looked great. Good scores!
Loved it all of course! My favorite was the lamp, you definitely brought it up a notch!
Thank you Gail. A good lamp is always so attractive to me!
Totally love that lamp n blue! The gold rub and buff accent made it stunning! 😮
Thank you Anna good idea
Wow! Love the Lamp it turned out beautifully!
Loved your video today! So glad you made the statement about it being your style! I think many people think they need to follow the trends and end up spending a lot of money every year!
Very true. Thank you Jayme
Love the watercolor! I'd reframe it in a white, distressed wooden frame.
I don't care for the frame it's currently in, I'd probably re-donate that to Goodwill.
Good haul!
Thank you!
Yes LM the current frame even in white detracts from the painting. The texture overwhelms the delicate details of the watercolor.
Loved the outcome of the church pew. More than that loved the birth story. What a great story and it is so nice of you and your husband to share. She is a cutie.
I, too, am a blue and white fanatic...great taste!
Fun projects! I think they are all great. I love navy and white, too.
Love the wooden crate at the beginning! Pretty sure it is Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit (Jemima puddle duck!).
It is !❤
Makes me want to go thrifting 😊
The lamp turned out lovely.
I am a watercolor artist. Definitely reframe and matte the painting to update it. You will get years more pleasure out of it with an up to date presentation.
I bet you make wonderful pieces!
Oh, the plate rack and plates were very nice as well!!!
That's funny, my family is also from Prussia. Love watching your channel.

The mail table vinyet is delightful!!!

Love that lamp the most! I always see lamps at the thrift store but never think to paint them. Thanks for the inspo, Cory! Hmm, if you're keeping that frame i think it would look nice in black. Love everything you do! Love love the lamp.
Paint the frame with your original idea. You have a good eye. Great find!
I’m in love with the lamp! What a transformation TFS I’m never disappointed with your content.

What a fun video Cory ...and for the water color frame is go with gel stain in White and do gold wisps over the Details of the bamboo ..I think that will compliment the Art To Maybe Go By where you Put your keys and mail🥰❣️👍
I kind of like that frame. I think you could paint it white and it would set off the artwork better. I love that little watercolor.
I really like the frame and think it goes well with the watercolor painting. I have found that when I'm drawn to something, it'll work in my decor - so if you like it as is, try it out in various spots.
White washed frame,,yes,,love that watercolor,,lucky find,,good for you!!
Thank you Dodd
I love the plate rack can't say iv seen them in England. You find amazing things. How I wish England charity shop were like yours.
I wish that for you too!!!!
I love all the great finds and your changes,,
Alcohol proof refers to the lacquer finish on the tray, which (theoretically) wouldn't be affected by alcohol, unlike shellac. Nice score on the watercolor. I'd definitely get a nicer frame for it...one that is more in tune with your traditional aesthetic.
Also obsessed with Navy blue.
My great grandmother was from Prussia too! Marienwerder is the name of her village. ❤
It's a small world!
If your going to keep it, paint it, beautiful painting.👍👍♥️
How interesting my mom is German and Prussian .she was an orphan in Germany and was adopted by an American family in the air force
Love your projects, Cory! And you’re looking great 🙌
Thank you so much my dear

I would certainly change the color of the frame
Thank you Martine

Very creative. I love the blue
Thank you Laurel!
Love the water color you found. I would paint the frame or get a new frame. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Laurie
My favorite project is the lamp. It’s beautiful! The frame for the watercolor isn’t a good match. I’d switch out the frame for something that is a better option.
I think a soft green would look nice for the frame. Maybe a sage chalk paint?
Thank you Jean
Love your pieces
Hi Corey, I’m new to your channel but I just love all your clips and creations!! I’ve been binging on your content and and going to God will next week to see what I can find. Wish me luck 😃

White wash the frame. Cute painting

8 agree with white frame and embellish it with rub and buff! Your 8dea for it perfect!
Thank you Vicki
You should paint navy BLUE. The watercolour in the paint Will pop more . Another option is the Gold,
Great ideas and fun video!
Thank you so much Meredith I'm so glad you enjoyed it
I would leave the frame as is or navy blue. The navy would make the flowers pop.
This was a fun video to watch. I love your creativity in repurposing thrift store items and giving them new life. Thanks for sharing these transformations with us.

Paint the artwork frame. ✨️
I think I will!
Yes the paintings near, but frame color needs changed, not blue, but a light whiteish or beige ish color. Real neutral so the print will stand out. Nice finds.
Neat not near
Gold to go with the blue with and gold and place it leaning against the wall on top of the table where you put your keys 🔑
That is very possible!!!
The art is the expensive part. I would makeover the frame to go with your house!
Great diys.
Leave the painting but you can paint the frame.
Thank you Rhonda
I agree with purplewombat below.
Can’t wait to see what you do with plate rack/hangar. I see them all the time at GE and scratch my head to figure out how it could be repurposed. Do you have suggestions if I do not have a Cricut? Thanks….I am tardy to party so I apologize in advance.
Do the white wash on the frame. Great finds!
Thank you Kimberly
I would paint the frame and maybe do some dry brushing to highlight the weave pattern
I was thinking the same thing
I’d paint the wicker frame black which I believe the pic will show up great.
I would paint the frame a nice green or white. I like to pick a color from a painting for the frame.
That lamp looks fabulous in the deep blue with the gold ! The toy box is so cute ! Hi Cory,,

Our Goodwill is way out of control in pricing, I won’t shop there anymore,,,RIDICULOUS !
Yeah paint the frame sweet girl.
Gods Bless y’all ❤️
Thank you Pam. I cannot wrap my head around why they charge what they do because all of their merchandise comes to them for free.
