As someone who is mixed race themselves I totally felt you deep down when you said you lived on the outskirts of your culture sometimes. Sometimes we just need a little reminding that we ARE valid! And that is beautiful! (And omg Michelle your sister is HILARIOUS! I love her and we need to see her more haha)
My daughter is half Indian like you, and I love this channel. When she's a little older I want to introduce her to your content so she can be inspired! Thank you for being a strong, classy, never-say-never woman and role model!
That’s what my mom did at her wedding! She wore a traditional white hanbok for the ceremony and a white western dress for afterwards. Having two cultures I walk between is also something I’ve always struggled with, and this video resonated with me deeply. I wish I can do something like this one day!
She tried on 100 dresses? Oh my god. The first one was absolutely stunning, I can't imagine moving past it!! Can't wait to see the rest of the dresses and see which one she chooses.
My sister got married recently, and when we went dress shopping she actually tried on only 25, but it felt like 100 for her. But this is Michelle, who loves to be challenged, so she may've actually tried a 100.
Michelle the red is just something else! The white was gorgeous but with the red I started crying and I loved that you could feel the lineage of strong women that came before you, it is palpable when you wore it.
Omg yes!! When I saw her in the red, I could feel myself getting teary eyed, she looked incredible. It’s so HER. Its so BAM but also she WEARS the dress, it doesn’t wear her.
I'm so so glad you chose to do the two separate dresses. Can't wait to see the final dresses but I'm positive it wouldn't have been as special without the red!!
Not me crying when Michelle had the red dress on and talked about feeling like the strong women in her family before her. What a beautiful way to honor both sides of your heritage. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I've struggled with the thought of how I would incorporate both of my ethnic backgrounds into my wedding, and I absolutely love the route you took. Thank you so much for sharing such a special moment and continuing to inspire in every way! 🫶🏼
So beautiful to watch, my relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.
it's always difficult to let go of someone you love, i was in a similar situation my wife for 12 years left me, i couldn't just let her go i did all i could to get her back, i had to seek the help of a spiritual adviser who helped me bring her back.
Girl when you put that purple dress on, I cried a little. I'm so happy for you!! The dress looked STUNNING, and I know the final product will be everything you wanted it to be!
When I get married I’m not letting the weather stop me from wearing the dress of my dreams. I don’t want to look back and regret not wearing a dress because I thought I would be too cold.
The emotion I felt when you showed the red Indain dress was so powerful it actually made me cry a little bit. I 've always felt disconnected from my ancestors and culture, this has given me some motivation to start learning about it. You are truly an amazing women and I can only wish the best for you and your future.
Beautiful choices, congratulations! I’m an Indian adoptee living in the US, and I also wanted to include elements of my heritage in my wedding. (Which was in October as well.) I wore a white lace dress for the ceremony, and purple silk sari that I bought on my birth city for the reception. It made me feel like a more complete bride! 💜
I’m adopted from India so I really relate to your relationship of your culture. It always feels like you’re on the outside looking in at other people seemingly having a more authentic experience of something that should be equally yours. When you were in the company that shall not be named’s videos as a mixed race person with Indian heritage it was the first time in my life being confronted with someone like me that I was able to really see myself in. It was just a sudden explosion of “oh my gosh she knows what it’s like! She knows what looking in through a window is like in the same way I do!” I’m so happy to have seen you grow through all these years and be able to see a mirror of myself in that as well. ❤
This is all SO special!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of such a remarkable moment in your life! I love the part of this video when you say looking in the mirror, you see the reflection of strong women in your life while wearing the eastern dress. Such a beautiful moment. ♥️
I got teary eyed just watching your reaction and love how you represent both cultures and how Garrett is so open and caring and loves you for who you are. G you look amazingly beautiful and I only hope to find someone who is like Garrett and willing to represent my culture as well (100% Native American/Navajo) when I get married. I love love and love you guys! Congratulations!!! ❤❤❤
I know I’m a little late, but CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 on your marriage, guys! I wish you two a life full of love and happiness. Thank you so much for the amazing content over the years, Michelle. You’ve really helped a lot of us get through the challenges of the pandemic. Best of luck to the both of you!
I get married in October, and also just recently picked you my dress after hunting for over a year. I’m also mixed race and seeing someone else struggle with it how I did while shopping was so sweet. I ended up crying at how beautiful you looked, and how you honored both your cultures. Wishing you many years of happiness❤
Michelle is good enough to be in her own TV show. And I know many people have said this, but I just wanted to say it again to remind everyone watching this video.
I love how your bringing your Indian and American heritage together. I’m gonna do the same thing but with food as I’ve lived in America my whole life but my family is Lebanese so I’m gonna put both types of foods and my reception.
Wow, you picked the right dresses! Michelle, you two are so beautiful together. I am not shocked at how beautiful your mother is. You dad has got to be so proud of his ladies

I love that you had both of the dresses from both cultures in your wedding!! I saw the pictures on instagram before this video, so I already knew you were going to do that, but I loved seeing the process of your trying them on and picking it out. The red looks stunning on you, and the white dress makes you look so tan. Congrats again on your wedding Michelle!
I had 3 dresses & 3 weddings to accommodate for my Chinese family, his American family (we flew to his hometown) & the actual wedding for our friends in where we live now. Seems like a lot but it was so fun to get to continuously celebrate over a couple of months & just have so many pretty things to wear. You’re gonna love having two outfits!!! Get more!! 😂😂
I am so happy you found your dresses! I get the whole I am not black enough and I act too white and sometimes I ask, "but am I human enough for you?". Your husbands sparkles when he looks at you. You love sparkly dresses, and he has matching eyes to go with. Perfect!
I love this video so much!! Literally all those dresses looked stunning on you!! I bought my wedding dress in august! It was the seventh dress I tried on and knew it was the one! But the thing was, I was a size 22, the dress that caught my eye was a size 12! Another lady put it at the end of the rack near where the mirror was and after every dress I tried on I kept staring at it. So I finally asked the lady who was helping me if I can try on that one. She said it wouldn’t fit and it’s in the sales rack since they won’t be reordering it anymore. And since I’m crazy, I bought the size 12 since I knew it was my dress! Lol! I have lost 20 pounds so far, I feel like I have about 5 more pounds to lose till it’ll fit literally perfectly!! I am literally so close and my wedding is in a few months! 😅
It’s amazing that you included western and Indian style wedding dressing is very nice! I love watching your videos, when I’m bored and watch yoru videos I immediately watch your videos for about 6 hours straight

My wife is from Patna, India 🇮🇳. I am American 🇺🇸 . We decided on two wedding events; a small court house wedding in America during C0VlD, then a no expense spared traditional wedding in India. We have no regrets! Indian weddings are far more interesting in my opinion anyway.
I loved watching you experience both sides and come to your own conclusions about what best suited and represented you. When you spoke about feeling like a 'liminal space' with not being 'enough' of either to completely fit in... that really hit home and made me emotional.
michelle you are absolutely gorgeous and i so appreciate you sharing this journey with us. i wish you nothing but health and happiness in your life and marriage
Hi Michelle! I’m super early so I just wanted to let you know how much I love you! You’re a great inspiration and congrats on the wedding! Love you! ❤🎉
4:37 I immediately started crying when I saw you in this one!!! My eyes just straight up turned into leaky faucets! This was an under reaction compared to how I cried when you finally started wearing beautiful colors! Absolutely bawling!
Michelle, I never knew you were mixed (Indian and Caucasian). I just saw you as a modern, Western culture, Indian woman. It is lovely to want to, and be able to, embrace both cultures in your ceremony! I think you look so beautiful, stunning, and outright gorgeous in all of these wedding dresses!!! I just wish we could have seen you in all of the 100 you tried! Lol 🥰😍💘
Literally watching this as I'm working on the skirt of my own handmade two-piece wedding dress, crying harder than Michelle when you see yourself for the first time in the red lehenga 😭💞💖 so many emotions!!
Am I the only one who at the end of the video where she says: "you can check out our wedding video here" had me screaming: WHERE??? But seriously though where can I see the wedding video? 🙈
I was speechless when you came out in that first red dress, you look so good in that color. I love how you had 2 separate dresses!! Being Chinese, our modern weddings usually feature 3 dresses: one "leaving the house gown" for when the friends and groom come to pick you up, usually traditional; one western ceremony dress; and one reception gown, which could be either. So personally I really love ur idea and you looked gorgeous! It came together so well.
I'm not mixed race, but I am half irish and half french, and I can totally relate with not feeling entirely one or the other. I'm also autistic so that doesn't help lol but even though I'm sure you know it, you're totally valid and you looked amazing in every single dress, indian and western, and I'm so excited to see a video of the wedding day!
Thank you so much. I'm a typical American and dating a man from India and hope to marry him someday. So this had so much good info on what to do... I love the idea of not having to do the typical white dress and getting to be in glamorous color. I loved seeing all the dresses from both traditions. You looked so good in so many of them.
The way you talk about your experience being Indian American is how I feel being Mexican American. It's an awkward dance you're never really prepared for and yet you did both cultures justice and it turned out absolutely stunning in every way
Thank you for showing your families culture. So beautiful. I loved seeing the photos of your parents. You have your moms smile. So pretty!! Your family is so beautiful 😊
You made me cry so much! I understand how you feel, being white and mexican. I was never mexican enough. You're absolutely beautiful and you're going to be the most beautiful bride!
Indian wedding dresses are not just lehengas. It’s only mostly in the northern states. South Indian states have very different wedding outfits. Sareee, half sarees, off white or beige colors. Very different traditions.
A lot of western Chinese weddings do something similar to what you’ve decided! Though not mixed race, my mom/aunts had a bi-cultural experience as the first generation to grow up in the US after their parents had immigrated from China. They wore white wedding dresses for the ceremony, but traditional red Chinese dresses for the reception.
As a biracial person, @ 10:45 I know the exact feeling of feeling not enough ti truely be considered either fully. Being biracial is beautiful but when I try to explain this struggle to others it’s hard! I knew EXACTLY what u meant

I loved watching you experience both sides and come to your own conclusions about what best suited and represented you. When you spoke about feeling like a 'liminal space' with not being 'enough' of either to completely fit in... that really hit home and made me emotional.
I got emotional and almost cried when you were talking about the powerful women in you family and about the red dress you looked so powerful❤
my jaw HIT THE FLOOR when i saw you in the first red dress. The cut of the second one though is everything
michelle you are absolutely gorgeous and i so appreciate you sharing this journey with us. i wish you nothing but health and happiness in your life and marriage
literally crying! being mixed race I also felt like I'm awkwardly outside 2 cultures! love this so much!
This is amazing! Congratulations! I love this series! DO MORE! ❤🎉
2:10 OH MY GOD. DESI SELF IS SCREAMING ITS SO PRETTYYYY
The "poop" jewelry at 14:33 gets my apreciation.
Lol
You described the feeling of being mixed white and Indian perfectly
YES!! I want to do the same -- I've always imagined a white/gold mixed gown. Can't wait for the wedding video
U looked so so gorgeous in all of them! I'm so happy and excited for you! ❤
Am I the only one who at the end of the video where she says: "you can check out our wedding video here" had me screaming: WHERE???
But seriously though where can I see the wedding video? 🙈
She said the wedding video comes out next week.
Right??? Like where is here!?!
This looks like quite the experience, but it also makes me glad I opted for the courthouse.
6:42 "okay mom what do you think"
her mom: "Bedazzled.. nipples-"
Michelle: "whAt? they're bedazzled?"
6:39*
In Hungarian culture there's always two dresses, the white for the ceremony and as the reception goes on at midnight they change into a red dress.
I am fully Indian, but i was born in The Netherlands. Even i related so much to you wanting a mix in the dress. I love the idea of having the two 🫶🏼🥹
You made me cry so much! I understand how you feel, being white and mexican. I was never mexican enough.
You're absolutely beautiful and you're going to be the most beautiful bride!
Whatever dress you choose, you’re going to be a beautiful bride
Indian wedding dresses are not just lehengas. It’s only mostly in the northern states.
South Indian states have very different wedding outfits. Sareee, half sarees, off white or beige colors. Very different traditions.
Wow the indian wedding dresses left me speechless. They’re so pretty 😍
I Remember The Proposal video was Absolutely Adorable! :)
I love the way you are honouring both sides of your family! And I teared up when you started crying.
It’s your wedding, if the Indian style is what you want, do it, but respect for trying to integrate both cultures.
As a biracial person, @ 10:45 I know the exact feeling of feeling not enough ti truely be considered either fully. Being biracial is beautiful but when I try to explain this struggle to others it’s hard! I knew EXACTLY what u meant
