Road House is one of those highly regarded masterpieces that should not have a remake. This trailer is pretty entertaining, the cast is great. They should've just made a new movie.

Personally I don’t believe anyone can take Patrick Swayze’s place in Roadhouse? Not to mention another movie of Roadhouse is likely to be much different than the original movie and often at least for me the newer versions rarely stand up to the original movie. Of course there are exceptions, some newer versions of movies do seem better than the original did. But those are usually really old movies where the original characters been dead and long gone and making a new version with new actors or actresses isn’t as a problem where many people don’t even remember the original actors or actresses! Example to me would be Flight of the Phoenix. I own both the original and the new version and I do like the newer versions better than the original. Still those old movies are iconic movies that will always have a special place I will always love. Naturally I also own the original Roadhouse movie and the jury still out on whether I’m going to like this new version of Roadhouse enough to add it to my movie collection?
I am not much into remakes, but this is a perfect antidote to the overexposed and increasingly banal superhero genre. Outside of the John Wick franchise, very few films have been made that hearken back to 80s and 90s style action, exemplifying the bravado of the lone wolf man who makes an impact through his grit and determination. Watching this trailer is like I am a teenager again, living in the era when the likes of Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Seagal, Van Damme , and Willis were in their heyday.
I read the title and was going to try and hate on a remake, but the slaps in the beginning made me chuckle. Then, the one goon who seems to now idolize him made me laugh. I want to see where this goes. It won't replace the original, but it could still be a fun watch!
