I love this video. I got a chance to go back to Juba last year for the first time in 10 years and my experience was similar. I relate to the surrealness of it all. One thing I was unexpectedly touched by was being surrounded by the presence of people who look just like me. Did you notice that as well? And I agree, witnessing the wealth disparity in real life was unsettling. It definitely stirred something in me as well.
yess, i think this was the best part - the fact that everyone around me looked just like me and there was a level of freedom bc of that. thank you for watching :)
Omg I’m from north Sudan my mom tells me stories when Sudan was one she said the south had the most beautiful fertile lands with mangos falling out the tree she wasn’t lying🔥😂💯🇸🇩🇸🇸💓
So beautiful that you captured this. I'm from Zimbabwe, but currently living in Australia and I too wish some African countries got more exposure from people with a real connection to them. This video is a perfect step in that direction.
Achan I love this video. As a South Sudanese women who’s never been able to visit back home, I’m so grateful that you took your time to vlog your trip. This video truly gave me a sense home.🥹🙌🏿💐
I love the idea of going back to one’s mother land. It really is always an eye-opening experience to see how your people are living and what life would be like if you were there. May God bless Africa🫶🏾🌍
Beautiful video! I'm Liberian and by the grace of God I was able to visit Liberia again after 23 years in July of 2023. Your video inspires me to share my trip experience, I truly believe that God is bringing the younger diaspora of Africans back to the motherland as a testimony of His goodness, for His glory and honor and for us to give back to our people with the resources that God has blessed us with. I pray that as we get older we can visit the motherland often to help our people and advance the Kingdom of God
That is my biggest wish for this lovely country..hopefully more people become aware and give a helping hand.....I am from South Africa and one day wish the youth of Africa would come together and create like a chanel where we could exchange ideas as to how we can contribute to the betterment of our home Africa....much love..God bless
I am KENYAn and I used to have SS friends in highschool.. I wish I could one day visit south Sudan.. JohnGarang, Daniel Barach..Matiop Deng.. I miss those guys🔥🔥
Wonderful video Achan! I'm South Sudanese as well but born and raised in Canada so I could definitely relate to some of the things you mentioned in your video. Hope you've had a great start to the new year.❤
the way i LOVE this video so much??😭 like every aspect of it makes me miss village life in nigeria. i was fortunate enough to have been born there/live there for 5ish years, but also travel home every Christmas afterwards. but because of c*vid i haven’t been back since 2019-2020 but the relatability between our village life is OFF the charts, from the : - goat (my grandpa had a goat pen & i turned them into my pets, b4 they were made to be food😭) - using a stick to get fruits from the tree - THE FLIES?? - the roads (doesn’t help when the car is hella crammed 😭) - not knowing the full language - prayer into the new years i can’t wait to go back this year, but its a shame that both of our governments are letting down our countries 🇳🇬❤️🇸🇸
i was in sudan most of the summer and it was the most beautiful experience ever. It made me more open minded and grateful for everything little thing in my life, and also was so refreshing to be around so many ppl who were so similar to me.
Hello Achan You did such a great job showing how S.Sudan is beautiful country. After the war ends in Sudan, you are more than welcome to visit. 🇸🇩 ❤️ 🇸🇸
achannn, this was literally such a beautifully done and informative video. it was so eye opening to see how life is in south sudan, and refreshing to hear your perspective. praying for sudan❤
This video was having me smile from so much admiration of your experience. From the shops, to the nature scenes, to seeing the community and especially seeing you and your family together appreciating the beauty of everything. Obviously I’m sure the whole trip wasn’t sunshine and rainbows yet I’m happy you had this transformative experience yk… within yourself and with your passion for highlighting South Sudan as a country along with advancing the country as well. Beautiful video Achan :)
This is such a beautiful video! The time you took to make this is amazing, even through the slight backlash you got! Such a great message about giving back as well! It’s so important 💓
Wow. This really spoke to me. I’m also a first gen American and I haven’t been back to my home country since I left at 2. It’s a lot to see but from a fresh set of eyes. The cinematography, the message, the story. Truly Beautiful. Please continue to spread awareness and truth the way that you do it’s so inspiring!
This is beautiful Achan!!! When y’all touched those leaves that fold, it reminded me of exactly what I used to do as a child when I’d see them in my home country Cameroon. My family & I left Cameroon in 2011 when I was 7, and have been in the US ever since. Now I’m 21 and I yearn to go back and see my family. God is so good and we’re so privileged to have come to the US for a better life & opportunities.
Achan, Really grateful for the video story of your trip!! I can see that you love God and you love people. I love your words about helping your community whichever you think is yours. Thank you for contributing to helping to those sudanees living in villages, They are the most needy...
you literally described how I'm feeling recently !! I've been trying to learn Dinka lately because I have a little personal passion project to go back to South Sudan with my parents and help out with what I majored in at school, which is hospital equipment and repair. It's a niche field in America (and in big demand) but it feels so wrong to use my degree here and live out my days with a good paying job when I have relatives my age who didn't even finish high school because of lack of funds, so I'm planning to learn as much as I can here in the field and get credentials to train people then dip lol. I get so heated when I think about the disparity in wealth and the lack of opportunities when it's such an abundant and rich land. I wish a whole bunch of ss youth, some post college, could back home and use the skills we learned in America to help out, I think we could really help not just our own family but maybe even more people in ss. I feel awful that I get to sit here comfortable and my cousins have to sleep in terrible conditions, I wanna go back and help so bad lol I wish I was rich so I could just hand out money to everyone smh
I will have my eyes on Sudan. I appreciate the time and energy it took for you to show us your beautiful country and also share your seemingly lovely family. Much love Achan. ;))
I have watched this from start to finish. I love the end goal. I was born in sudan and grew up partly in South Sudan and now in the states for studies. We can always link up and discuss more. I am also wanting to change how things are like in South Sudan, or at least bring more insight about the country
Thank you, Achan, for showing the world about what we really are as a country. What you depicted is the convincing truth about our country, and we are proud of it, there is no place in this world that is still like that with all the natural beauty and the heritage. Everything about the video is touching and extraordinary. Keep on coming back to your home country every time you get a chance. It climaxes the love and sense of belonging to your community, It also inspires your fellow friends who are in the west. South Sudan to the world, love you, my sister ❤️
Visiting home must be such a humbling and touching experience. This video if anything makes me more excited to visit home one day, you are all so beautiful and I just know your parents very much needed that taste of being back home, worry free and feeling like home. ❤❤

Watching this from your perspective as someone’s who’s grown up at/around home all my life is so beautiful. Ps, I’m from Aweil as well!! And my step mom is from Marialbaai🤍
I am a South African and I must say I absolutely enjoyed this content. I loved everything about it even the "underwhelming airport", yes it could be better. A lot of improvements are indeed needed there but I could actually live there among others and actually have a good time. Thank you, beautiful Sudanese sister.
Thanks, Sister Achan...South Sudan has a great future, and we are so proud that we have such a beautiful country. Some people might despise S. Sudan, but will be prove wrong with time. After watching all the video, it reminded me of staying in our other house in Brasil. It's a hard life there, people live with a lot less. I think some people that live in our city don't eat much. I'm always glad to get back to the U.S.A. where it seems like the land of plenty.

Thank you, Achan, for your great video. Thank you also for visiting Aweil or South Sudan. South Sudan is a great country. We just have poor leadership, which might change in the future. There are a lot of beautiful places in South Sudan that you haven't seen.
WOW!!! Thanks for sharing your story of South Sudan, I am sure it was eye-opening when you went to the village with no lights. You used candles and other things they used for lights. ❤God Bless South Sudan in Jesus Name Amen!❤

I love the story, and I encourage you to do the same next time if you got a chance, I wouldn’t ask you to do more than bringing on the similar stories which I believe can change narrative about what our generation can do to contribute enough and make our country better place and more livable, we’re unlucky to have a corrupt government but I believe that can’t deter our contributions for the homeland. I recognize Nyamlel in this short doc, the home of my lovely mom ❤️ You’re brilliant. Kudos to yah
I always feel bad for this country. They have pretty fine lifestyle now. Yes, I am aware they are the poorest in the world, but in my eyes, I know they will change and become better one day. Sending lots of love to them from Japan! 🤗🇸🇸❤🇯🇵

Can I move to south sudan ?
I don't like these world events and possible world War 3. South sudan would be a good place to get far away.
Did it make you want to move back there? Because A poll was just taken on X of which country would be the worst to live in. South Sudan came in #1
@@willw3736out of North Korea? especially with the medias image of it? Surprised
