She's a fabulous ballerina, top tier, regardless of her race or skin color. I'm very happy though that SF ballet was able to hire her and I hope she thrives there.
Lol that's why i'm here. She is! I'm not a dancer, but i've seen more graceful movements in ballet. Merit > a person's skin color I'm a black woman saying this!!!!
I'm from Sweden. The only swedish article I could find about her mentions her being swedish and absolutely NOTHING about her race. Because it's irrelevant. What does it even add to story? She got her own day, that's all you had needed to say. Is it so shocking that we (my parents are african) are able to achieve something, for race to be mentioned ever time?
Her farther is Jamaican, her mother is Swedish. Polotical correctbess at the point(e). She had said that it is rare ti call her black because she has a lightet skin than oeople who identify them selves as black. But I an so happy and proud as a Swede that Nikisha is a principal in San Francisco ballet. I love her as a dancer and I know a frienf of her. They studied ballet together in London. LOVE to Nikisha!!! 💖💖💖
Such hate and identity policing in the comments. I’ve been following Nikisha for some time. If anything, dancers of African descent have to be more qualified because the barriers to entry into the ballet world are still so exclusionary.
OH YOU SHUT UP, TRUMPSTER FREAK AND STOP LAUGHING AT SAN FRANCISCO BALLET PRINCIPAL DANCER NIKISHA FOGO!!!!! BECAUSE THAT IS SO NOT FUNNY, YOU MISSPELLED "BALLERINA" AND STOP CALLING SAN FRANCISCO BALLET PRINCIPAL DANCER NIKISHA FOGO "BIG MIKE", BECAUSE NIKISHA'S NAME IS NOT BIG MIKE AND NIKISHA FOGO IS NOT A FUCKING MAN!!!!!
@@dawg2911 meritocracy is the only way.. is she the best? no she is not... end of discussion there are plenty of women of color who are capable of competing and being stars on their MERITS. This just does not happen to be one of them.
@@jazzy19001 okay. But you didn’t say this. You said very insulting and racist things. There are much better ways to say “I think other women could have had that title” than to say bad things about her
As a black dancer who only ever sees White Ballet dancers in big productions and in an industry with a history of racism…I CARE ABOUT RACE. Now i know that I as a black person am allowed to like this kind of thing after literally feeling excluded from it because so many people told me black women cant do Ballet because it’s a White thing and only white girls can be Ballet dancers😐

Brown.... even a 2 year old knows the difference
She almost looks transgender as well - two firsts i guess
Y’all are embarrassing. She’s the one successful and doing things while y’all sit on your asses and hate on her. Shame on you.
