Yellow Throated Marten Attacking Langur( full version) Rarest scenes - Corbett National Park, India

- Uploading the full version of the video which i uploaded some time back. Hunting behavior of the marten can be seen clearly in this video. Langur being injured was not able to climb the tree nor was he able to move properly . He was only able to defend himself with whatever moves he got although martens not that bigger in size were proving very difficult for the langur to tackle showing their skills and challenging langur at every moment. Another one from my rare videos collection .
Scenes like this are very painful to videograph but this is what nature is all about
In situations like this, we could only see what was happening in front of us but couldn't do anything
Do check the video card which appears on video at 0.4 seconds!! That is the final clip of this video in which langur is trying to walk away with great difficulty but he is unable to walk off!!
Hey all .. while scrolling down the comments, one common question i encountered is why the langur was unable to flee from the spot
-------------
Well, if you can zoom in the video you will find scares and marks all over it's body which martens made( moment not captured in video) . Moreover, marten continously attacked the armpit of langur because of which it was unable to run away or climb on the tree
I have also uploaded a video in which the langur was trying to walk away and escape the attack but was unable to
Check out that aswell
Thanks :)

IM WIT U... I THOUGHT MONKEY RUN IN A PACK 🤔🤔 MAYBE THEY DRUGED THAT MONKEY... HE'S FIGHTING WIT BOTH ARMS AN HAND🤔🤔
In To The Wild - With Ashish
May I suggest that the monkey was old or unwell anyway which is why it was on the path in the first place, perhaps looking for tit bits from the tourists.
Thank you for that info it was very helpful
Monkey gets viciously attacked and bitten yet still sits there after the Marten backs off for a moment. I guess that's why nobody ever said they were the brightest of species
It's already injured before the Martin started attacking, hence that's why it's on the road and not up in the trees. This video shows the end result showing the exhausted monkey with no strength left
The martin probably been harassing the money long before this video. Which explain why the money is injured and exhausted.
@@rickygilbert7204 Damn, once is excusable, twice is punishable. It's MONKEY not money. Cheers!
It could have hopped off a tree if it were in peaked condition.
Yes, the martens had injured the langoor much before you all are seeing in the video , it was hardly able to walk or flee away
You can see that the langur seems tired and exhausted. Martens have incredible stamina and will wear the monkey down, repeadetly biting it and injuring it bit by bit until they are to tired and worn out to fight back. You could see a second marten there. They deffinetly had a feast that night
You got it absolutely right Timber 😊
I read they just kill for sports, in china a released panda was found attacked by one of these, the marten bit off it's belly and exposed the intestine, it later died during surgery to save it, the marten was never found and is still on the run.
Gahahaa.. Lol

To all the viewers of the video who feels that we could have protected the langur
Here are some do's and dont' which we need to follow in a wildlife sanctuary
DONT’S:
Approach an animal too closely - respect their privacy (around 20 m away)
Drive fast, nor off the designated road/trail
Make sudden movements
Leave any litter in the park even if a basket is provided there. Take out the trash with you
Enter the park if under the influence of alcohol
Take babies, small children or pets
Play music or make noises to get a reaction from an animal
Use cell phones in the parks
DOS:
Leave a spot if a large crowd is gathering and you have been there awhile
Keep quiet. If you must speak, do so softly.
Learn about park rules and abide by them e.g. Don’t get out of the vehicle except at designated places, don’t smoke
Interact with local guides ; they can enhance your jungle experience.
Listen to the noises of the jungle - give all your senses a treat.
Do look beyond the mega fauna - some of the smallest creatures can be the most fascinating.
Carry binoculars and cameras

Their hunting strategy is pretty straight-forward and very similar to the honey badger cousins.
- Stalk and watch the prey.
- Stay quick and agile to get in the prey blind spot. (Circling and getting into blind spots)
- Immobilise the prey (Biting the armpit and tail of the langur to stop it from running and climbing)
- Tire the prey (Constant circling to tire out the prey)
- Finish the prey or let it bleed out. (Chance are they most likely finished off the langur later on when it was tired)
They also hunt in small packs. In the beginning, a second marten was seen to the right of the camera. Chances are they took turns in taking bites at the langur to save energy and take turns in resting. Its possible they may have attacked simultaneously, later on, to finish off the prey and drag it away.
In other words, they are very intelligent animals and, despite their size, are a force to be reckoned with. In larger packs, they have been known to take on pandas in the wild.
The tune "Pop goes the weasel" kept popping into my head during this video.
Obviously the monkey was sickly and the marten, like any predator, instinctively senses that it's not a threat but instead one heck of a meal. Thanks for sharing this unique video.
You have to give it to the Martin, who actually hunts for his meal while city folks complain when their pizza isn't on time.

Even if they are full they will hunt it for fun...
Not the case. They only hunt when they are hungry
The langur was injured actually. Marten had already torn of the armpit of the langur because of which he was not able to walk properly or climb any tree
+Ashish Jain do you know what happened to him afterall?
not exactly as the langur went inside the bushes and marten followed him.. by the time we came back again to this place, neither the langur was seen nor the martens
It's very weird that the languer wasn't using his hands to fight the marten...
Thanks for the comment. I figured it was gravely injured due to it not trying to escape. It likely wanted to stay in a clear and wide open space so it could see the marten coming. The marten was just testing the monkeys weaknesses, taking a bite when it saw an opening. It clearly wasn't going to end well for the monkey, and the marten was certain to have a delicious feast that evening. Thanks for the vid Ashish!
Indeed. The langur was obviously injured and unable to flee.
I never seen that cute yellow black creature before. Wow, I want one.
😄😄You better not
These are small and beautiful but ferocious creatures which can take down animals almost double there size
@@AshishJainDouble their size really? Omg😯
No you don't, they bite worse than rattlesnakes. No poison, but can rip you open badly. Got worse temperament than monkeys.❤❤
@@billenglish6983 😭
It's a hunting strategy. The marten does this for hours on end and wears the langur down over time. Eventually the langur can't fight back because of exhaustion and several small yet strategically placed injuries. I would say based on both of the animals level of exhaustion this has already been going on for hours.
Hello Ashish ..
Can you please help us by letting me know which range is this of Corbett ? Dhikala ?bijrani ?
subhash chaudhary hi
We witnessed this in dhikala
Sambhar road , Near watch tower.
They are just playing games, you know, high school
Weasels, badgers, and the wolverines are all lb for lb some of the toughest animals on the earth. They are all capable of taking down animals many times their size.
Monkeys are use to getting beat up by alphas an acting submissive till it's over but this doesn't work when the attacker wants to eat you lol

Omg that mongoose daring to eat the langur. Surprising
That is a marten not a mongoose, these animals belong to entirely different families, martens are in the family Ictonychidae whilst mongooses are any animal of the family Herpestidae, Ictonychidae belongs to the superfamily Musteloidea within the suborder Caniformia whilst Herpestidae belongs to the superfamily Viverroidea within the suborder Feliformia.
Great video. The coloring on that marten is beautiful.
Seemed like that monkey had several opportunities to just run away, and climb a tree. For some reason, it opted not to. Odd.
Clearly predation is a choice. That monkey if healthy can pick up the marten and smash it, but it chose not to. Maybe it's very sick. Marten is relentless and fearless.
@bara yaa a heatlyh is insane..a langur can easy grip..and bite the marten i have seen one.. Mongoose been lpse fight. Pig tailed macaque he grap and bite
It wasn't sick but was injured

The marten is professional,he knows the monkey’s arms are the most powerful weapon to slap and hit him, then he attacks them first.
True .. They made the langoor weak by constant attacks on the arms so that it is unable to climb or walk away
That monkey had to be sick. Wessels are tough, but they are no match for a healthy monkey, especially one twice its size. Its not like its a defenseless rabbit, Monkeys have arms and teeth and I have seen what they have done to people when they attack, so a healthy one should be able to rip a wessel in half, just my opinion.
yes true
weasels take out larger animals all the time. they are really ferocious and tenacious.
Check out the W vs Bobcat Video
A key aspect of weasels and other animals of the weasel family is to attack, kill and eat animals much larger than them. Wild ferrets, weasels, stoats, etc. kill rabbits and hares many times their sizes all the time.
John Falcigie I agree in regards to the monkey.
Was just pointing out that it's known and documented that many species of the weasel family do attack and kill prey and predators much larger than them.
Except this is a marten, and not really a weasel despite being in the same family
The Langur was amused...not trying to hurt the weasel...was not trying to run away...just toying with the creature...
Ferrets are related to these as well
But they got the fun gene, i think.
So this is basically a medium-sized Cougar vs any human dumb enough to approach them?
There's a lot of cases where monkeys die over a Martin. I just don't get it like, why won't he fight back or run. Last similar video I've seen, the monkey died hopeless.
If you will search regarding the hunting behaviour of martens, the result would show that they chase there prey and make it fall from a height . Once the prey is injured, they would take it down slowly by attacking multiple times. Same happened here but we only witnessed what has been shown here
I think marten is seeing him as a threat in his area that's why he is attacking him...because langurs had nothing to do with them..its like langur is playing with him
Woooooow over 2 mill views and not a single like or dis like rare well that first like is mine
Am I the only one who hears those screams and wants to get a hold of that thing ad well?
It's definitely in the Weasel family. The languor seemed to like the game as he stays and waits for the Weasel to do its thing. LOL!
Haha, actually, it's because it's in tremendous pain after the marten ripped its armpit open
All because of you mr. RUclipsr .You only the man who watching this type of unbeliveable live movement.
Damn these little cute killing machines went after the langur's armpits first to cripple them before moving in on the kill. Imagine if they are the size of a dog! We'd be on their menu too lol.
Maybe it's just me. There's something fishy about this vid. The langur looked drugged. Just sat in the road. That monkey didn't even try to fight back. Also, It could have ran and climbed a tree. It looked whipped before the "fight" even began. Didn't hurt my feelings though. It was good to see that monkey get his ass kicked!

The reason why it was unable to climb or run away
This is "Yellow-Throated Marten".
It is a very ferocious animal, and three can unite to kill the boar. There is aggression that can kill people.
The monkey is not making any effort to fight or defend or escape it deserves its destiny
The langoor tried to flee but was barely able to walk or fight back
All it could do was to delay the attacks of the martens and to live for some more time
Langur had him at 3:45 but it looks like a Langur injured or not doesn't have a killer instinct.
The circle ⭕️ of life is viscous.
very strange reaction of langoor, is he sick or otherwise. Naturally not defending as he is capable.
The Yellow-Throated Marten/Kharza (Charronia Flavigula) is like China's version of the Fossa (Cryptoprocta Ferox), however the two similar-looking animals are not related, the yellow-throated marten is a member of the family Ictonychidae, whilst the fossa belongs to the family Eupleridae, Ictonychidae belongs to the superfamily Musteloidea within the suborder Caniformia, whilst Eupleridae belongs to the superfamily Viverroidea within the suborder Feliformia.
That monkey was a loser. Surprised it lived as long as it did.
Like for real, it just stood there and let itself be attacked
It was injured by constant attacks of martens. It tried to run but was barely able to walk or defend
@@AshishJain Thanks for the context. Did you see whether it exhibited better defense during the earlier attacks? It still seemed to lack adequate reflexes and maneuvers for its apparent condition.
Martens usually take down a prey by making it fall from a tree and separating it from its troop. What could have happened here is the same
When we reached the spot, langoor was sitting in the middle of the road.
We stopped seeing it and a few seconds later, the martens came in the scene and started attacking as shown in the video
Langoor was unable to move, it tried to flee but was barely able to walk and fell down each team it wanted to escape

what a mean little shit....lol
Marten are such beautiful little creatures, I didn't realize they were little bullies to.
they have to be,because their tiny bodies burn energy at a really scary ratio
rosesweet1967 theyre predators
rosesweet1967 have you seen stoats? They are cuter and tinier like kittens ,weighing around a pound but can take down a rabbit more than twice its size.
Killing in order to eat isn't bullying.... That's the natural order. These little things burn energy ridiculously fast and have to eat all the time, I'm sure he was stoked to find such large prey
rosesweet1967 Kay
I think this monkey was either already sick or was chased out of it's group, these langurs are almost never alone.
The langur was chased out of it's group by the martens and then attacked
I would think that a Marten could easily take a baby Langur. Looks like he is having trouble with an adult. Its almost like the monkey is playing with the Marten instead of fighting for his life.
That's what I'm saying. That langur could've fucked that little think up
Christopher Franklin yeah too bad the marten didn't finish it off :'(
The things people from other countries get to see!!!!!!
I feel like I’m looking back in time about 1 million years. This is what our ancestors had to go through if we wasn’t focused 🙄
Na. They would've made a tail grab and slung it against a tree or the ground like trying to put a fire out with it lol.
Archangel 03
...if we got lucky. Sometimes we don't/didn't and end up like this fella.
Thanx God the langur chased the Martin away. M shocked how could a Martin take on a huge langur
I think Marten got baby around there .
Saroz Limbu That's what I was thinking as well. What other reason would it be to allow the langur so many opportunities to run away? Then each time the langur didn't, the more forceful it became, like it was just wanting it to move away from that area.
At 0:19 you get a quick glimpse of a smaller martin to the right. This one just wanted the monkey to go away...
Host
It almost looked like the monkey was playing with it like a human and a dog. But, when the Marten got a mouthful of skin, it was apparent this was no game.
Langur was made to fall off the tree, injuring it first and then the attacks were launched as scene in the video
It better watch out for the neck attack. They will jump on the back of prey and bite and severe the spinal column. This leaves the prey paralyzed and totally helpless.😢😅
Martin's are beautiful, AND deadly.
I guess that 2001: A space odyssey movie scene was fake then!
Little bastard.....That Marten would make a nice furry little jockstrap to hug me little langurs on cold winter nights
Well folks, that's the usual way of nature. The weasel isn't mean or cruel, it's just hungry...

Zea Row I agree completely I was very angry when they allowed this to happen
amazing footage, but why the langur doesn't climbe a tree? there's one not far...
So did the Langur survived the attack? Whats the point of posting incomplete video?
odd user the video has been posted to show the hunting behaviour of the martens and to tell how these small creatures can fearlessly take on the bigger creatures
The langur probably would not had survived as it was brutally injured and also when you zoom in the video you can easily spot marks on the body of langur
After some time, langur managed to go inside the jungle and martens followed him. Probably, it would not had survived the attack
Look pal you either share that snake with me or I'm going to tear you a new one.

Pete Sutton when u go tp safari and see a lion killing Buffalo, what will you do?
Something is definitely not right with this langur. They usually attack back very ferociously, it's really not that simple to just get close to it and try to have a bite. This one was either too old or sick, otherwise it really is not that much of an easy prey
It was injured by attacks launched by the martens
And then they took on the langoor slowly and steadily attacking further making it weak and fragile
Monkey is the usual meal for Marten. If the monkey try to run the marten easily bite on back neck .

That marten been watching alot of ufc
It was brutal but that is one beautiful looking Martin
I'm surprised the monkey wasn't fighting back more trying to bite it back they have pretty sharp teeth and strong jaws but marten are so persistent and regularly kill things 10x their own size. Mink are impressive hunters too
They do this twice a day and put on a show for the tourists.
I’ve seen weasels kill animals this big more than once.
That animal has the heart of a lion while the monkey has the heart of a chicken
The langoor was made weak by constant attacks of the martens making it weak
Langurs are usually in big groups and it's surprising that the group did not come to the aid of the monkey-something unusual must have happened before.
Yes, langoors stays in big groups but when an attack is launched , they tend to run and climb different trees to escape the attack .
Martens chases one of the langoor away from the group and follow it probably making it fall of the tree out of fear
And then attack it constantly making it weaker and finally managing to kill it
Martens are ferocious hunters and can hunt down a prey bigger in size to them
Monkeys don't need to attract attention of Martin's to their group. Attacks would come at night, against mom and babies. Martin's not gonna take on whole family group at once. Pick em off one at A time and make their life very nerve-racking. 😢😮😊
