Jewellery Making Tips | Bezel Setting a Princess Cut Stone | Metalsmith Academy

- In this video, I'm setting a Princess cut CZ in a 1mm thick sterling silver bezel using ball burs to cut the seat. Be warned - it's not as easy as it looks! But once you've got to grips with basic tube setting and setting fancy cuts without corners such as ovals, this is a great next step. Just don't forget to make safety caves for those corners!
PS. The bezel is superglued to a wooden base which is held in my GRS Tools Micro Ball Vice. To get the setting off the wood, I'll just give it a soak in acetone :)

Hiya Lucy,
What a great video. Again thank you for sharing with us all like this. I've just learned quite a bit.
A question, may I ask? A ball burr? I've never done this but would have used a cylinder burr for that inside thinking and a ball in the corners, as you do.
The finished product is quite beautiful, and I want to try it myself. You've inspired me, dear lady.
Stay safe, Steve.
Thank you for the clarity in your demonstrations! I’m learning and I am inspired.
Wow...thank you!
Thank you for all the amazing content. It's really really helpful for a novice such as myself.
WOW! Such nice work!
Hammer hand piece looks and sounds great. Lovely result. Cheers Lucy.
Pretty awesome closeup and great lesson. Thanks for sharing.

I love you Lucy, thank you for all the great teaching videos!
Thanks Lucy!❤
Nice skills, I appreciate your efforts, thank you 🙏,
You do make it look so easy. I'm hoping that this and the oval setting (and maybe one for a trillion) are in the new classes. Can't wait for the unveiling!
You are Amazing as usual! Wow!!
Very neat work! Good job! 🤜😎
Wahnsinns Arbeit! 👍🏻👍🏻
Yout make it look so easy!
Awesome!
Great closeup
Great tutorial Lucy! I wonder what kind of silver did you use? 925 or 999? Because I found 925 is too hard to push
Nice video:) What thickness silver do you use for this type of bezel?
Fabulous! Is that bezel held on block with super glue? If so how is it removed? What size and type of bur are you using?
Awesome! What is that small motorized hammer called, the one you use to push the side of bezel to the stone?
Künstlerin ❤️❤️
NICE
nice work Please name the equipment and tools you use while working 🙏💐
Lucy, what polish are you using here?
Wow.
I have a watch that i want to remove the stones it came with and replace them with a different color. Is that possible?
What graver are you using in this video?
Out of curiosity, what do you do with the tiny bits/strands of silver (from the electric drill)??? I assume you collect and melt for future work .... Otherwise throwing away silver even in tiny amount is such a waste.
What ball vise are you using?
Is there a lost of tools one I don't know the name?
Can someone tell me what she’s using to tack down the piece to the wood while she’s working on it? Brilliant so it doesn’t move and no needing to hold it.
In the video description box she says it’s tacked down with glue which can then be removed by a soak in acetone :)
I would like to know how you glue the bezel, to your block. Rubber cement?
She uses superglue.
@@michalshalon3214 then how does she remove the piece from the superglue when finished? Is there a trick?
@@WWsake She soaks in acetone. amazingly it doesn't hurt stones, though obviously wouldn't risk pearls, turquoise or opals, but most of these are hard stones if they're princess cut.
niiiiiice
Are you using a ball bur or a hart bur to cut the seat? I can’t tell
So, I see you use super glue at times, and thermo plastic others. Is this based on the size of the piece..?
👌👌👌🙏🙏🙏
