Love all the little pep talks.... "Don't bloody touch the stone - capiche", "don't worry about your fingernails it is not worth the emotional meltdown". I feel like you know me so well - I had a massive fling myself down on the carpet toddler tantrum yesterday because I "bloody touched the stone"!!!!! Real tears people - real tears!
Absolutely the best video and so detailed on flush setting a square.. or even trillion stone!! I also agree with the suggestion of leaving text description up longer, as it’s not long enough time to read & see what your doing.. Simultaneously
Beautiful job AND beautiful piece at the end with multi size/shape settings.❤️❤️❤️ I am certain that required LOTS of patience. Some day I hope to acquire this skill. I actually have some princess cut CZ's so maybe I should practice with copper. Thanks for a really great tutorial. 👍🙂
Once you get to silver, one of the nice things about it is that if you make a mistake early on, and there’s no going back, you can always put it in the crucible, melt it down and pour it and reuse the silver. I discovered that with copper, if I messed something up, it is messed up forever, because copper melts at such an extreme temperature.
@@tattoofthesun You are absolutely correct! Copper requires a bigger/hotter flame. So far I only use a butane torch like a kitchen torch. I love working with silver.
Hello, very helpful video indeed. What else would help is to mention the burr sizes and all other tools that were used. For the burr sizes it's tricky since synthetic gems have painfully uneven girdles. So, how do you deal with that and what ball burr to start and to finish with this 5mm CZ, for example? Thank you!
Wonderful video! I think the shots you add in with a side view make for an above-average production. Also, just the right amount of music and super-clear detail of creating the setting. Wow. I think your videos are worth paying for. It was especially nice that you had to cope with a fat girdle - I have so many stones in my collection that have awful girdles. If I was only able to handle nice sharp girdles, I wouldn't be ready to use them. Could you please post a source for the GRS yellow diamond polishing wheel? I couldn't find them.
MOST EXCELLENT!! You say "pull" the metal" do you mean push? Or are you leaning the graver in towards the stone? Hard to see sometimes but so great to watch and see. So great to SEE this at all, thank you so much Lucy!
Lucy, may I ask you the name of the glue that you use when you assemble your peace of metal and the woodpiece before setting the stone? Thank you in advance. Thank you for this very usefull vidéo!
How did you get a piece of silver with that gauge? Did you pour it yourself? Did you solder a bunch of sheet together? How? Thanks. (as you can tell I am new at this...)
I so wish we didn’t have music and we could just listen to your voice and the sound of the tools. And the sound of the work, and sound of your advice... maybe edit the music in when you speed up the sawing or something. But I don’t know why so many people think we want to hear their choice of music. I love you tho!!!!

I usually just pause it and read it lol

I can’t believe how steady you are cutting the seat. Amaz❤ng!
I loved it! One suggestion: leave the printing up a bit longer to give us a chance to read it all! Thanks!
I pause the video to be able to read the words without missing a beat! That way I can see everything she is doing
You make it look so easy.
Wicked good video. That last step is one skill that really needs a lotta practice!
Thank you so much for sharing your skills. I'm not ready to attempt this yet. I'll need lot of practice learning your other skills first.

Bloody this. Bloody that. Bloody awesome Lucy. Thank you for the teaching. Hopefully I am also learning. Aah, us Brits, what are we like?!
Thanks Lucy!
This was fantastic to watch
Nice video. What type of magnification are you using here. Would 8x be enough?
Hi Lucy,
What was the name of that pencil looking tool you used to trace the shape of the stone onto the metal
She used a scribe You can buy them at Otto Frei
a cut a hole too big! any suggests on how to fix this? or is the only option a larger stone?
Rather off topic, but I love your shirt! Have a source? Thx!!
So if you were doing this in a ring- how would you cut out the shape?
Still with a saw - just carefully not to cut the bottom of the ring band 😭😭😭
I wish I could afford these Rio Grande upgrades!!!! Gotta save up
Thankyou!!
awesome per usual :)
Whats the tool called in the beginning
It’s called a scribe you can buy them at Otto Frei in California or at Rio Grande in New Mexico you can also buy them on Amazon prime.
Thank you for this
What size stone?
Not sure if it is Lucy's hand making this stuff!
Thank you for sharing, you make it look so easy, lolololo
WHat is the tool you use to hold your stone when you set it? NEED!!!
I believe she said in the description she would list the tools that she used
Thank youuuuuu master 😍😍😍👍💪💪💪💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Always welcome
Like your videos and your character (:

look at you! I just noticed you're wearing makeup! lol❤️😂
And back in the day they did all of this by carving??
I still can't understand how the gemstone would be secured enough? 😐🤔
Hammering will not laser
