Thank you Michal! it's coming soon to the website in full detail :) just gotta retake setting by hand for the 4th time - camera angles are killing me! xx
you all prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Jude Caspian I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Thank you very much for this video Lucy. I've just watched it again for the 3rd time after discovering I had cut a perforated line into the rub over cast setting I purchased from Cookies. That's £8 down the Swaney. I hadn't taken into account the tapering outer wall of the setting and had got carried away with the setting burr. I hate my life 😐😉
Nice job! A bright cut inside the bezel next to the stone gives a nice finishing touch on top of removing the excess metal covering (and hiding) the stone. Which is a common problem in stones set by people who mostly learn by themselves.
Most of my jewelry is bezel set including my engagement ring and band 😊 I love this setting so much. You do absolutely gorgeous work 🥰 you’re very talented 🥇🏆
You make it look so easy. I'm doing this on a marquise faceted stone this afternoon. I still might be able to save it tomorrow. Fingers crossed. This definitely helped.
I just got an emerald ring and it’s bezel set but the back of the stone is completely covered by the metal (gold). This seems odd to me as all my other gemstone rings have at least a small opening behind the stone. I think it’s better with an open back because more light can shine through the stone. I’m wondering if this is something a jeweler could fix by removing the stone from the bezel setting, cutting a hole in the back of the setting and re-setting the stone. Or would it be too risky & damage the ring too much to attempt this? Great video! I think i’m going to try some jewelry making classes someday.
Great presentation! But it would be helpful if you added text or verbalized what was taking place. For instance, what’s holding the setting in place? What tools are being used? Walking the novice through each step. Things like that. I guess you could say.... look at it from the perspective of the newbie and create your content with that mind. Thanks!
We do have online classes available lovely where we go into all the juicy details :) we are currently closed for enrolment but you can sign up to the waitlist if you visit lucywalkerjewellery.com :)
Hi maam... How to get this exact results on a middle of a flat surface metal.. do i have to carve around it to make it a lip that can be hammer to lock the rock?... If yes can i see how it looks?
how do you glue the bezel to the base to keep working on it? I find bezels so fiddly but I think it's because I go for thinner bezel strips and don't have anywhere to place them while I work on them
How did you attach the silver oval piece to the wood so that it was flush? Also thank you for your videos. I'm not a jewelry metalsmith but I do work with metals and gemstones, in addition to wood, leather, and natural dyed fabrics to create my assemblage pieces.
I am finally doing jewelry work in my own shop. It has taken me 8 years to get to this point in my career. I have some videos of doing pyrography on my channel. I would like to start adding videos like this to it. What camera are you using for these amazing shots?
Hi Lucy, how do you call the last “burr” you used around the bezel once it was all set? A kind of burnisher you used with the foredom. Thank you very much!
Beautiful work! ❤️❤️❤️ You have a pair of amazingly steady hands and a very nice swivel vice and I bet that helps a lot. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to cut a seat so evenly free-handed. Anyway, that was a very nice demonstration. I suppose it's time for me to practice making tube bezel settings. Thank you. 👍🙂
Love this video and technique Lucy, I’ve learned a lot from watching your videos, you have great skills and your videos are amazing!, Thank you so much!.
Hello, I hope you can help! How do you do rubover set a single round stone on signet rings? Should I use a flat top with straight edge stone and just glue it? Or a flat top with single bevel stone? If using a FTSB stone that is 1.5mm in height, do i need the bevel to be a bit higher than the stone? And what would the thickness of the bezel should be? Many thanks in advance!
Debbie, I would think the question is obsolete as you wouldn't set the stone before soldering the bezel to your jewelry piece. I was about to ask the same then it struck me that she has it mounted to the wood for teaching purposes only. I'm only guessing as I'm a beginner.
Hi Lucy! Fantastic video as usual! Thank you for this. I’d like to know what the first measurement is that you take with the calipers? Is it from the table to the girdle? Thank you. Your friend, JM
Is there anyway you would do a tutorial on making a rectangulart type bezel (rectangular gem with 8 sides) ? OR can you atleast tell me is it possible to make a bezel for this type of stone without using a bezel punch? Thanks
Oh but Lucy, how were you measuring how low to go on the outer scribe? I had an emerald, and tried to scribe the inner bezel and damn it all, it left a scratch on the stone. Was my burnisher too small and pointy, because it for sure was smoother and polished. If I go bigger, I get flashing. I am trying to learn a bright cut, and I am signed up and took many classes. Hope to enjoy many more,
Brilliant Lucy! Even though I've done it before there are always new tricks you can see with your wonderful videos!
Thank you Michal! it's coming soon to the website in full detail :) just gotta retake setting by hand for the 4th time - camera angles are killing me! xx
Super! I'm new to the advanced stuff, you make it look soo easy! Thank you for sharing this, it really is helpful..
Thank you so much for the clear video with close ups! You DO make it look easy :)

@Jude Caspian It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass!
@Chance Trace No problem xD
Thank you Lucy ,it was a pleasure watching you skilfully create a beautiful piece of jewellery 😊.
In future it would be nice stating which burrs you used for each part
Beauty, personality, and mad skills. Great video!
Great video, can you tell me how you secure the bezel to the block of wood please 🙂
I was wondering that too.
It’s superglue... remove with acetone 😊
@@bonniemagpiejewellery thank you 🙂
She explains it all on her comment below the video, superglue then soak it in acetone to remove from wood.
I wonder if nail glue would be as effective as super glue or cheaper...??
Holy Moly you are skilled!! Great video - just mesmerizing!
Congratulations on the great job. Thanks for sharing . Greetings straight from Brazil.
Beautiful! Please, show us how to set some baguette gemstones as well 😊
Thank you very much for this video Lucy.

Wow, I enjoyed that. Now, I'm going to go and set a nice faceted amber gem that way! Thanks for sharing your technique.
Most of my jewelry is bezel set including my engagement ring and band 😊 I love this setting so much. You do absolutely gorgeous work 🥰 you’re very talented 🥇🏆
Thank you so much! I love the look of bezel setting too :)
Hi Lucky Walker. Thank you for sharing. I found it informative. I would like to recommend that you fire the Smurf orchestra though.
Brilliant quality of work and very well explained how to do this. Impressive.
Dawg she didn’t say anything after she started working lol
I love your beautiful artworks.

Thank you Lucy! Brilliant and so helpful! Love your hair!
Such a beautiful setting! How would you recommend polishing a similar stone, Rubellite set in the same way if it develops a few scratches?
Now it's made how do you get it soldered to another piece without damaging the stone? Thanks I loved the video it helped me out very much.

Omg look at all that silver wire in the back on the wall!!!!!! I’m drooling. You have all the nicest stuff! That vice is like 600-800 $

I liked how their was no talking
I love love this thank you so much so detailed and precise 😍
I learned to cut the seat for this type of setting with a flat needle file, and this looks MUCH less time consuming (once you get the hang of it.)
I'm interested in all different precious gemstones mounter & setter
Hi maam... How to get this exact results on a middle of a flat surface metal.. do i have to carve around it to make it a lip that can be hammer to lock the rock?... If yes can i see how it looks?
What size is your ball bur? And what wheels are you using to polish up?

It's just superglue :) I remove it later by soaking it in acetone
excellent, I saw a couple of tricks I shall use from now on, many thanks!
I am a jewellery setter man ,,, but I like your video,,,,,,,, love form indian ❤️❤️
Thanks Lucy. So useful, and exciting.

4:54 stress crack in the bezel from facet? How was this repaired?

Brilliant work and instruction, inspiring!
hello what is the electric tool to use for stone setting?
How did you adhere the silver bezel to the wood plate and how did you remove it after setting the stone?
Superglue and acetone he he he - it's simple but it works!
Love this video and technique Lucy, I’ve learned a lot from watching your videos, you have great skills and your videos are amazing!, Thank you so much!.
Beautifully Done Bravo!
Where can I buy this sort of equipment, I'm just starting out and it's it's dream to be able to make this.
Hello, what kind of hammer do you use to knock around the wall?
Great work and hand control 👌👌👌
Beautiful work! Thank you!
This is SUCH a helpful video. Thank you ao much.
Great video. More please. Love your hair!
That was fantastic!! Thank you for sharing 💕💕
May I ask where you got the 1mm thick bezel? Thanks for all your videos, I love watching.
I suspect Lucy made the bezel from sheet. ;)
Thanks Michal - yeah it’s just 1mm sheet :)

Lucy, what brand divider are you using? Starrett? Thank you for EVERYTHING!
Thank you very much for this video! I am only just wondering what kind of material you put the drills in before starting?
It's a lubricant.
@@WindsongVirtual Thank you!
What is the trick with the super glue?? My setup looks about the same as yours, but even soaking in acetone won't dissolve the glue.??
Lovely job!
Nice idea. Hard wark
Hi! are you using glue to hold the piece? What is the name please, and how do you remove it after? tks!!
Hi Lucy, what are you using to secure the bezel to that piece of wood?
I was wondering about that too.
Me too!
She usually attaches it with super glue
@@claudiabarlow7596 super glue? Not heard of that before? Does it dislodge with heat? And how do you remove the super glue from the bezel, sanding?

Wonderful and very impressive video 👍🏻
Hola amiga cómo puedo adquirir o comprar esa máquina para engastar
Beautiful! May i ask what hammer handpiece you use. I'm looking for one as we speak. I only have a HF flexshaft so not sure what handpiece will work.
A regular reciprocating hammer does fine.
Thank-you for sharing!!
Great techniques 🙏
So professional
Gidday Lucy, love your tutorials, can u please tell me wat that impact stone setter is called please, I think I want one
This is a foredom hammer handpiece :) it certainly makes life easier!
What gauge of silver used to make the bezel? And was it sterling or fine silver?
