It's strange as I thought I knew the English language really well, but I've realised that I have no idea why I speak the I do sounds and how things are put together it's simply just learned. I cannot express how much easier it is to learn when I can see patterns and rules to follow, it's incredibly useful! Your course is helping me understand how to pronounce new words I come across as I can pick out the different sounds, I've noticed a huge confidence boost in my reading as I can hear the sounds as I read and my pronunciation when reading aloud is much better as I can hear my mispronunciations a lot better.

The explanation on the spelling changes to dictate the pronunciation of the C and the G is really clear and very helpful. It makes it much easier to remember and understand. Also reinforcing what we learned earlier when dealing with the G and E. Great stuff !! Merce Beaucoup !
moi cest Gibbs ici, Dylane. im a native Malayalam speaker which is actually India's one of the most popular state, Kerala's regional language. btw i should admit whatever sounds / pronunciations you taught until now including this lesson's, its really easily for me to grasp or to pronounce just because of the similar sounds or letters (that i could combine to form similar french sounds as an added advantage) that ive in Malayalam. im also proficient in English as well. nd im learning French just because ive a very special one in Paris which i consider a blessing to know her in my life i.e. she being my inspiration to learning the language. merci bcp à toi aussi pour ces super lecons:)

@@Stephanie-gv8rh heck it's hard for me, not only a native speaker but i'm a historian who studies the rural South so I have to say it a lot. Where I'm from in Oklahoma it all just becomes one syllable, sounds like "ruol" or ""rul."
@@paulharvey7278 oh my you would use that word a lot then! English definitely has some hard words 😅 I also find it gets worse depending on the accent/country
Wow this was a tough one as a student, I bet it was as tough for you to teach it. You have all my troublesome words in there like Le Fauteuil (which I only managed to master just the other day), plus Une Feuille and also my nemesis Un Écureuil. I wonder if it is as hard for us Brits to say that as it is for the French to say A Squirrel when you first heard that 🤣
I explained at the beginning of the course why I don't translate all the words into the IPA. From my experience, you should be able to recognize the sounds from the rules instead of looking it up all the time ;)

It's probably the most difficult of the whole course 😕 But I have no doubt that you will master it 💪
Dylane, use the International Phonetic Alphabet more. The audience can then understand the French phonemes you are referring to.
"if that makes sense" (une feuille/un portefeuille) -- no it doesn't but sometimes one must simply accept things and not argue with a language ahaha
