I got this end of last year and only just got around to popping it and doing a zombie with it. Fantastic blend. I’d love to do a side-by-side with some custom blend recommendations, but no time yet. But, on my list, since I’ve really only done/had a couple zombies before this and don’t have much of a baseline/reference point. Super happy with these results on their own, though. I also have the Navy Grog blend, which I’m also really happy with. Same deal there… gotta take the time to do some comparisons. But, I mean, it’s Hamilton… so, I knew it was “not gonna suck”. Everything I get from Hamilton ends up on my “well, that’s one I’m gonna need to keep on hand forever” list. My question is… WHERE IS THE HAMILTON + BEACHBUM MAI TAI BLEND (in 1L, of course)!?!?
So what am I supposed to do with the 750 ml bottle hidden away in my living room (originally a whiskey bottle) which is full of a mixture of three rums and which is labeled with a piece of masking tape that says Zombie Base Spirits Mix?
I make my own falernum, using Beachbum Berry's recipe - Falernum #9. Pretty easy, very yummy. WAY more flavor than JD Taylor's velvet falernum (Smuggler's Cove uses that I believe)
So I get my 8 (375) bottle sampler of Hamilton tomorrow and I’m already lamenting running out but so excited to finally give all of them a try. Up until last year, my state wasn’t able to get Hamilton rums and now I’m planning on stocking up on my favorites....which could be all of them
Hamilton has a variety pack for sale online it includes smaller bottles of the full line.. I just ordered it. Ive spent the last few days searching local liquor stores, I am not a drinker, and don't know anything about rums... this was a perfect beginner set for tiki party i want to have it was about $100 for seven smaller bottles

Spike has Ed tried to get his products sold in Canada primarily The Liquor Control Board of Ontario. Would love to have the opportunity to buy his rums on this side of the border. Also there is no one selling Pimento All Spice Dram in Canada maybe that could be his foot in the door up here. PS love your show.
Wider distribution would be nice, maybe get some to europe as well, as we don't have access to a true 151 demerara rum here, so I use plantation oftd, which does that job. And regarding allspice dram, you should be able to get the by The Bitter Truth, as this is the one we use in Germany as it's the only one available here.
I'm also in orange county, any recommendations for tracking down white grapefruits? Seems like I have less than a month a year to buy them from Gelson's and haven't seen them at all anywhere else I've looked.

I really want to try this blend, but it's difficult to find Ed's Rum in my state, because we have very dumb and antiquated liquor laws from the prohibition era still.

Make your own falernum, you are already making your own syrups. Use Rum Fire as the base spirit; the Cocktail Wonk's recipe from Minimalist Tiki is easy to do and a good base for flavor adjustment to get exactly how you want.
