Hi Melissa! Take care of yourself. If the customer buys product like the DIY PON mix, you need to let us pay for it. That is just business, and you shouldn’t be losing any money girl. We appreciate you for thinking of us always!
I knowww but shipping is so expensive and $15 is still a lot for someone to pay. I feel like if I wouldn't pay for it I wouldn't want someone else to pay for it if that makes sense. I think if it ends up being more I have to end up paying I could increase the price by a couple dollars but I'll see how it goes with the 5 lb bags since it's the first week :)
@@plantsbymelissa When I want something bad enough, I pay for it. Bottom line sister, I pay $80-100 UPS overnight for a plant and I think most of your customers would do the same. Paying extra shipping because they are buying a heavy substrate is expected. Yes, great idea to raise the price!!
I agree with this thread!! If people are willing to order online, they MUST be willing to pay the price for it. Fluctuations happen and YOU shouldn’t have to eat the price for that. It’s wrong and not beneficial for your business. ❤ we love you and those who do would NEVER complain on such things.

Hi Melissa. I ordered 2 bags of pon to be shipped to CA. I was wondering about the shipping cost because it didn't change. You should find out how to calculate shipping by weight and zip. It is scary how much shipping costs, but that's not your fault. I just potted up my Jacklyns to your pon today. I am anxious to see what happens. I am new to tropicals and this was my first time using something other than soil.
aw, it's $15 max for ground and I feel bad charging more because that is still so expensive. I'll see how it goes but I can maybe add a 3rd charge for say anything over 10 lbs. Thank you so much for purchasing! Pon can be scary at first but it gets easier and alocasia really love it!
So great to spend the evening with you Melissa! So much better than watching tv lol!!! Love your cute cat mommy voice!💖🐈 and your kitties are adorable!! Looks like a lot of work all the plant packing and shipping. You put so much care in all you do. I’d def order if you shipped to 🇨🇦 but probably good you don’t because I already have too many plants. If that’s even possible lol! I love the whole propagating thing. So rewarding to watch new plant babies forming💚🌿
yay!! Glad it's hanging on still :) I'll probably keep them with the plant. It makes them more unique and the big leaf is so pretty! I'll have to get some longer shipping boxes!

You might have mentioned it before, but do you mind sharing the brand of your couch? I love that style, and would love to see what other colours it comes in as well (I would ruin a lighter coloured couch in two seconds lol) ❤
Do you mean the darker brown one? That one was a hand me down from my brother in law recently. They moved into a different house and couldn't take all of their furniture. If I can find out the brand I can let you know. The other gray ones are from rooms to go I believe.

What Kind of Tree Fern Fiber do you use? Does anyone know if they can buy it locally in the States, and if so, what kind of store do you look at. A Nursery? I have been looking locally and don’t find any, but maybe I am looking in the wrong places. If you get it on Amazon, which brands do people use? Thanks for everyone’s suggestions. I’m new to tree fern fiber. I have purchased a few Hoys’s in it and really do like it. So I’d like to get some. Thanks! Can’t wait to try some of your PON Melissa. I might just buy all of the ingredients and make it. Although I have never used it, so I’d like to try it first. I just hate to make you pot it all up and take the time. Seem’s it’s a pain and takes a lot of time each week. Could you hire someone else to do that for you? Locally or even in another state. Example: you hire me, I make your recipe, do all you would do, weigh, bad, ship it. You’d still make some profit off of it, even with paying someone; but it would take that off your shoulders. And someone else could do it. Just a suggestion. Especially if people are really likening your PON. Those PPP’s you showed towards the beginning of the video were incredible!!! I want one of the off spring of those plants. I chopped and propped my PPP for better variegation and it isn’t growing roots or anything. So I think it’s a goner. Which I knew was a risk. I told myself I would hold out for a REALLY pretty, lots of PINK and Variegated leaves. Yours are gorgeous. Hopefully someday I can buy one of them. Thanks for your videos. You work so hard and try to make sure you film it all for us. We all appreciate it very much!! Your plants are beautiful and I love how you really make sure the plants are healthy, rooted, have new growth points etc before you ship. That is HUGE. I really admire that. And about the Florida Ghost- I would pay more to have you leave the big leaf on and use a bigger box, supplies etc just to have it left on. I know I am NOT alone here. So think about it.
Thank you!! It's the fernwood brand New Zealand tree fern. I usually get it off amazon. They make a couple different sizes. I don't think I'm there yet to hire someone but maybe some day. I'm still so new and not ready for that and I think it would stress me out 🙈 Sorry about your ppp :(
I definitely wouldn’t throw it out my friend. You can try cutting back its leaves and just keep the stem. It will eventually put out new growth and it may actually go back to its normal state! Look into it on google and or RUclips! I would hate for you to lose your beauty ❤
all white just ends up browning for me :( If I move it away from light it just browns and after 3-4 all white I just toss if it's alocasia. I will not sell all white plants.
I send it out every week I have a sale. I include pics of the plants I'm selling for that restock and any updates. The sign up is on the home page of the website.

I have all white leaves on my Frydek and it’s heartbreaking because I am going to have to throw it out.
I definitely wouldn’t throw it out my friend. You can try cutting back its leaves and just keep the stem. It will eventually put out new growth and it may actually go back to its normal state! Look into it on google and or RUclips! I would hate for you to lose your beauty ❤
if it's more mature and the stump has growth points definitely chop it back to try and have it activate those!
@@plantsbymelissa thank you!!!!
@@jessicabellone913 Thank you!! I will give that a try!
Hi melissa! Just wondering, are you still working an outside job too?!

You get to propagate to your hearts content without over whelming yourself with more plants than you can handle. Propagate and ship em out.
I cant be the only one that thinks the Aurea Micans always looks sunburned and on its last leg. I know hers is healthy but it just looks sickly!

dont throw away your white leafed plants. i like the white. i would buy them
all white just ends up browning for me :( If I move it away from light it just browns and after 3-4 all white I just toss if it's alocasia. I will not sell all white plants.
Newsletter? What newsletter?
I send it out every week I have a sale. I include pics of the plants I'm selling for that restock and any updates. The sign up is on the home page of the website.
@@plantsbymelissa ok thank you. I’ll go look for it.
If it’s heavy, it should cost more. Simple.
Babe, stop throwing out the plants you think you can't sell, have a section on your website kind of like an "as is" where it's cheap and they run the risk of not getting a super healthy plants ya know?
Hi Melissa, I believe that Charmaine from @unplantoarenthood was noticing nutrient lockout when she received plants in coco husk / coir as well.
oh ok, I don't hear much about it but I have definitely noticed a difference with it not buffered.
This is so inspiring to me 🥹 I’ve wanted to start selling but need advice
