Very good info. As it turns out I like the heads taste more than most people. I will sometimes blend late heads with early tails or hearts to get what I am looking for.

I would recommend proofing down the taste samples to manageable levels. 190 proof kicks the crap outta taste buds and they won't last thru many samples.

Mr Cyrus sir I have a question whenever you get a free minute to answer.. I have been distilling for several years and my daddy was a moon shiner himself and the way we used to change from heads to hearts was when yhe first drop in abv started is this correct..in other words we used half pint jars to collect our product and the first usable shine ( after the forshots and methanol ? Are thrown away (about 6 ounces per 5 gallon run).say my first jar was 155 proof then it drops to 145 or 140 , thats where we decided hearts began with the drop in alcohol percentage , is this the way you do it 😅?😮 we are just using a cheap amazon still but i still get 70% alvohol the majority of time then it drops by 5 every jar

That is a way you can do it. I don't do it that way. I like to use smell and taste to determine what I want to keep and toss.

That's one of Wayne's contraptions. I'll ask him to do a video on how he built it. I think that's an excellent idea for a video. Thanks so much for the suggestion.
