What's crazy is warrior is my most played class but I only really picked ot up in dragon soul, always had a low level one as an alternative character, but he's as old as vanilla. Only got to like 10 before putting him on the bench, ty for your videos they're all great and helpful, I went 2 parry and 3 improved rend early on, since I plan to tank as arms till about the time I can duel wield properly (I think you said lvl 50 ish?)
Can you plz make a full on guide for tanking/Lving as a warrior which spells you should buy when to use them or which spells you can ignore if you want give multiple choices if you can, do showcases of how spells should work and how to use them like I watched your quick guide to tanking and I didn't really understand the whole battle shout thing like can you pull with it or does it work after you pull? Idk I really wanna tank with a warrior but I just feel like no one has made a good guide for it, kinda sucks and we're in 2024 for a game that came out in 2004, there should be a good tanking guide by now and no one has made one but I get it could take a a lot of time so I get why someone wouldn't want to do it. PS and macros, gear every lil detail if possible lol.
I'm a bit confused by some of the points you made in this video. I'm brand new to WoW (Lvl 38 Warrior). Currently using the Arms warrior leveling guide off of Wowhead. My primary concern is about defensive stance, as I am primarily just tanking at Scarlet Monastery right now. You recommend always applying hamstring. I can't even use that ability in defensive stance unless I charged to a pack of mobs and applied it to each once before swapping to it. Currently I use demoralizing shout and I alternate between revenge and sunder whilst tabbing between targets. I just picked up the Ravager and it's been helping me with AOE threat gen inside the Monastery. What is my rotation really supposed to look like? I'm really confused. In the gameplay you show it doesn't even look like you're using defensive stance. How are you even taunting targets? I can't generate threat to save my life on a single target against a higher lvl DPS without using the taunt ability, let alone control an entire room. Is there something I'm just blatantly missing?
I am in defensive stance. You can’t see my stance bar over my camera. Hamstring more applies to open world leveling. I use taunt in some circumstances, but since I save rage in between pulls I’m able to hold threat on targets without relying on taunt.
Heroic strike queuing while dual wielding. The number one tip to speed up mob grinding and killing while questing. It is like everything we learned in 2019 was forgotten and everyone went back to the 2004 guides to remake their videos. If you are dungeon spamming or tanking go arms, if you are questing or grinding go DW fury and learn how to heroic strike que and cancel, pretty easy with a slow mainland and a swing timer. Even just DW with heroic striking will give lower average kill times than arms with a slow 2h. waiting 3.8 seconds to kill a mob with 50 health adds up massively when you kill thousands of mobs. 2H arms FEELS strong, but averages slower kills and has more downtime than fury (if HS queing)
@@Average1212 Not sure where you get people are waiting 3.8 seconds when you should be saving rage per every mob. Sounds like a made up statistic. Considering you also get a free auto after a sunder. Sure if you’re loaded with rage 24/7, buffed out, have amazing gear, then I can see your side. But for beginner players, fresh server, and not the greatest gear, nor it being end game. Nah. Add sweeping strikes into the mix as well with a good 2H, which pretty much everyone gets nowadays. Appreciate the info though!
@@frenziiii I see you don't understand how heroic strike queing works. The 3.8 seconds is your average recommended weapon speed 2 hander. you can simply time your average of 20 mobs to test how many times you have overkill on a slow 2h, or just barley don't kill it and have to wait 3.8 more seconds to do dps, and every time you miss you wait another 3.8 seconds. When heroic strike queing and canceling your offhand has your specials table hit chance, To explain this simply you hit more often generate more rage and average faster kills as you don't ever have to wait 3.8 seconds for a hit. Like I said this was all tested to death in 2019, shown over and over again that dw fury WITH heroic strike queing and canceling produced much much faster average kill times when questing or grinding. Whit is bis in PVP at 60 des not hold when leveling. This is like people recommending a slow 2h pre lvl 30.......... pre 30 avg weapon dps is the only thing that matters as you literally have no instants to benefit from a slow weapon and all the downsides of a slow weapon every time you miss. As I said 2004 leveling logic when we went over all this in 2019.
HS queuing is mid in all fairness and very overrated. Needing to consistently upgrade 2 weapons is a pain in the ass and the faster kills are offset by more downtime. Its simply not efficient and there's a reason why not a single one of the top warrior players are recommending HS queuing as a levelling specc, terrible on pvp as well. It was experimented with in 2019 but ultimately most warrior players recommend SS cleaving and HS kiting when solo levelling. And as a warrior with a slow 2h you shouldn't really be missing too much as you should be targeting mobs a level or 2 lower than you. By far the most efficient way to level a warrior is to go fury 2h pre 30. The early 5% crit from cruelty is insane early game and using a slow 2h is obviously preferable for hamstring kiting which is definitely the most efficient way to mitigate damage and reduce downtime and you can weave SA's and rends in between. Hamstring kiting is particularly strong on fresh servers as you'll often be competing with other players for mobs and so you will naturally have more space to manoeuvre. After 30 its arms all the way, sweeping strikes is the best levelling ability we get by far and MS is solid at 40. SS cleaving is super efficient, 2 mobs every other pull and minimal downtime. You're completely overlooking the fact that downtime is super important and that survivability is generally better than damage output. Also its classic - all warriors should be tanking when levelling regardless of spec. This whole "dps warrior only crew" that seems very common since fresh is just cringe and they need to learn their class.
Also your statement that “pre 30 avg weapon dps is the only matters as you literally have no instants to benefit from a slow weapon”. 1) Overpower is scaled with weapon damage and is one of the most powerful abilities you have and you get it at level 12. 2) survivability is much higher with 2h weapon since you can hamstring kite and not reduce your dps. In fact this is only more effective the slower your weapon is, as the difference in hit speed between you and the mob is more equalised than if you had a fast weapon. This means that the difference in your dps - mobs dps is higher the slower your weapon is (assuming same weapon dps ofc). 3) getting a 2h weapon upgrade is much easier than getting 2 1h weapon upgrades. 4) cleave is much more rage efficient with a 2h weapon than 1h weapons, so attacking more than 1 target at a time has higher rage efficiency, and ofc sweeping strikes is more effective with a 2h base damage. All of these points are definitely in favour of 2h… but at the end of the day, do whatever find fun - most average players won’t notice the difference between the kill times : downtime ratio in optimum dw vs 2h builds. They will just notice a difference in how it feels - and that preference is down to them. If they want survivability or cleaving, 2h is better - if they want slightly faster single target kills but take a lot more damage and assuming they have good 1h weapons, they can go for that.
@@jackmilligan550 I was actually going to edit my post and mention Overpower but you covered it. Its one of (if not) the best abilities in the entire game.

Like ya once in awhile I can use it if the circumstances are met but that's it. Doesn't seem unreliable to not ever use heroic strike and hope an overpower will come up.
@@PhilipPaul-vw7hu Sunders make your auto attacks hit harder, which gives you more rage. If you have more than 80% rage, then use heroic strike. Start with 1-2 sunders, auto attack, overpowers, heroic strike with excess rage.
@frenziiii But I thought you only got extra rage if your auto crit. So if it does more damage period you'll get more rage? So doing 100 damage will give me more rage than an auto that did 76 damage? @@frenziiii thanks, that makes sense. Is there a good way to sim your 2h vs dual wield output to know when your 1handers overtake the 2h damage or is a target dummy the only way? Making a hardcore run so want to make sure I get what info I can.
@@frenziiii You also miss less with 2 handed weapons, with 2 one handed weapons you use off hand one and that has increased miss chance compared to main, and in lower levels you have no hit chance as a warrior, unless you play human/orc and use swords/axes you will loose damage and even then you will miss more with 2 one handed wepaons, that's why it's better to use 2 handed weapons while leveling, because 2 handed weapons count as main hand weapons.

Only got to like 10 before putting him on the bench, ty for your videos they're all great and helpful, I went 2 parry and 3 improved rend early on, since I plan to tank as arms till about the time I can duel wield properly (I think you said lvl 50 ish?)
Does white attack also applies right after hitting sunder armor with 2h-weapon?
@@frozencreep18 Sunder does not overlap your auto attack. So a white attack will always come after.
@@frenziiii Okay thanks. I guess It's just difficult to tab and sunder large pulls.
From a healer standpoint yeah you might have more damage / threat but when you dual wield or 2h tank you get hit like a TRUCK and that causes us to burn all our man's to spam heal you when you can avoid a large amount of that damage with a shield
Perhaps an issue in your groups then. I make sure I am geared and consumed appropriately. I am currently tanking all dungeons with my barbarian warrior, no chest piece, and dual wielding with no issues at all on my stream if you’d like to see.

Question: If I am tanking PUGs as Arms should I still be using Defensive Stance for the extra threat generation?
@@slackerpope Should always use defensive stance for the most part unless you’re popping sweeping strikes and switching back.

sunder will play an attack animation but it does not give another auto attack
Does not give another auto attack. In the video I worded it odd, but what was meant that it does not affect your auto swings, meaning yes, you get your auto attack after sunder. Thanks for watching.
@@frenziiii so whats the point of sunder armor then, heroic strike does damage and with talents u can reduce the rage cost, how is Sunder Armor better? if both skills dont have anything to do with basic attacks, and one does cost 15 rage and the other one may cost 12 rage, and one does damage and the other dont... i dont get it how i am supossed to level with sunder armor only
sorry i just want to improve, thats why i am asking
@@ismaeldeleija8165 Never take the heroic strike reduced rage talent. Sunder armor reduces the enemies armor, meaning you do more damage on your attacks, plus more rage generation.
It is far more beneficial than using Heroic strike. Only use heroic strike if your sunders are already on the target and you have excess rage to use.
@@ismaeldeleija8165 Keep in mind that when you use Heroic Strike, it's replacing your autoattack, so it actually prevents rage generation for that swing.

@@dpmesse I think possibly it's that Heroic Strike doesn't generate rage, but replaces one swing attack that would have otherwise. So Sunder Armor might not give an extra attack, but keeps your regular attacks going instead of replacing them with Heroic Stike.
@@Gladiatorat It was poorly worded. Does not grant an extra swing, but does not reset your swing timer on auto. So essentially, yes, you are getting an auto right after your sunder.

Not sure why you'd wanna switch as it makes weapon progression twice the pain, and is, generally, not better for levelling than arms. Obviously I'm only lvl 20 so Idk what's the main damage ability I'll be using but if I'm not supposed to use heroic strike, do I just use the rage on overpowers and sunder armor?
And you seemed to indicate stacking sunders would give me more rage. Or maybe I misunderstood you because I didn't read that in the ability generated rage.
Lastly overpower seems really random.
Your biggest learning curve for Warrior is how to maintain having rage so that you never charge or walk into a mob with no rage.
And again. Overpower has prerequisites in order to use. So people say it's better but it barely comes up as usable. Sometimes I'll go multiple fights without it popping up once.
