Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even donated her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.

I wasn't a big fan of Elvis but I think it's undeniable how impactful he was on music. I was 12 when he passed and I remember exactly where I was on that August day. This young woman has stage presence, talent and her voice is very unique. It's smoky, husky and yet...feminine. While I do love a cover that's true to the original, I love artists who take the original and put their own spin on it without butchering it. Please give this girl more time on your channel.
Actually, this is true to the original intent of the writer of the song, which was not Elvis. Elvis made it famous by making it his comeback song with that party vibe. Angelina's version aligns with the truth of the story in this song. And she honors Elvis in everything she does in this video---her clothes, hair, guitar, etc.

Tiny Little Girl Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice was 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve. I have a number of pictures of celebrities whose height is known, for example, Austin Butler, who played Elvis, is 6ft tall, and AJ published a picture of her standing next to him, she was at least 1 inch taller than him, and she had to look down at him.

She has taken this iconic rocking song by Elvis and completely rearranged it into a different song and if you never heard the original you would never know ! Her ability to make covers or as a viewer had mentioned to "uncover " an original song and take you on her journey is unbelievable ! That is tremendous talent and Angelina is the ultimate storyteller as are all great artists ! I hope you continue your journey with our barefoot princess and watch her grow from a tiny little child into a young beautiful magnificently talented artist ! Thank you for returning to Angelina. Your reactions to her performances are always worth watching. The song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).
Elvis was almost a like a superhero when I was young. He died when I was 5 and I still remember it. There was a huge resurgence of his music after that. She did an amazing job and I think he would have loved it.

I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes. I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on YOUTube since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani. She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday’ and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. The location in the Antique store represents these classics (like the furniture) of another era. To me she portrays wonder at all these classics surrounding her. as she has travelled this road. Her tribute to Elvis is at her present age, today, each stage represented by her cousins and sister and ending with Angelina herself on the couch still admiring all this history surrounding her. This performance was released the same week ad the film, and pays homage to Elvis throughout. Elvis' version was a chart topping pop tune. I believe Angelina's is truer to the lyrics, and from the perspective of a mother trapped in a relationship with an insecure and jealous husband. There's a very good reason Angelina chooses to perform without shoes. I'm sure someone will tell you about it.
Angelina promised at 6 years old that she will perform barefoot until all the children in the world have shoes. Check out her 'origin story' on this. Elvis hit the world with a big bang when I was in my very early teens. I met him quite by accident when I was 13 and he was still in the early stages of his career. He made such an impression on this small town kid that from that day on he was THE KING and no one could ever take his place. That is till in 2014 when I happened to see and hear a little 7 year old Norwegian girl singing 'Gloomy Sunday' on a news broadcast in Costa Rica! That was the day that Elvis became the King of music, and Angelina, since that day has become the QUEEN of music! She has been given a gift that is like nothing I have ever seen in any other person in my life. I will never believe that she was given the name "Angelina" by accident, nor that her last name "Astar" was accidental, She is an ANGEL! And she is A STAR! And I firmly believe that though I probably won't be alive to see much of it, she will make during the rest of her life, one of the biggest impressions on music and on life and humanity ever by a single person! Angelina and her grandmother chose to use Angelina's two young cousins and her younger sister to represent her through her youth (always wearing white dresses). Many don't care for the arrangements Angelina creates on classic songs, but I think she is a musical genius with the warmest, most welcoming voice I have heard in my 64 years. Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 83 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. They happened upon a homeless orphan girl about Angelina's age who was weighing people on scales to make money for herself and siblings. She was shoeless. Angelina began talking with her (Angelina knows Farsi because her Grandma Mery is Iranian). At SIX YEARS of age, they began sharing their hopes & dreams. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor; Angelina said she wanted to be a superstar one day. They agreed to think of and pray for each other every day. Angelina took off her favorite pair of sea-green boots and gave them to the little girl!!! Pure Empathy!!! She vowed shortly thereafter that she would NEVER wear shoes while performing until every child in the world had could have shoes and have their needs fulfilled. From age 7 with her Norway's Got Talent audition to this very day at age 17, she has NEVER broken that vow, even in freezing outdoor weather (such as when she performed outdoors at the Nobel Peace Prize awards in 2014 at age 8 and contracted a cold). Angelina has a platinum voice, but she has a heart of purest gold! She wrote a book at age NINE about her experience with the little Middle Eastern girl. It's called (in English) "Between Two Hearts," making her the youngest published author in Norway's history. Angelina is phenomenal!

It was also a real family production - the Executive Producer Mery Zamani is Angelina's grandmother, the 2 youngest girls are her cousins & the older girl is Angelina's younger sister Juliette. Everything about the production of this video pays homage to Elvis’ 1968 Come Back Special. Angelina’s grandma, Mery Zamani is the executive producer. The two youngest girls are Angelina’s cousins. They are her uncle Michael’s children. Michael is also Angelina’s agent. The middle school aged girl is Angelina’s sister, Juliette.
Very nice reaction! Elvis is another singer that influenced her. Angelina was actually lucky enough to meet and speak with Priscilla Presley during a private screening of the Elvis movie. She even got to meet Austin Butler, the actor who played Elvis. It is subtle, but if you listen carefully, she actually sang parts of the song in the same key as Elvis, which I didn't pick up initially until it was mentioned by a number of commenters and reactors. Her voice has only been getting better and better and she's only 17. I can't imagine what she'll sound like when she's in her 20's and 30's! WOW!

She wants listeners to feel the love in the message of the song and often times we understand it for the first time even though we had heard it many times before. You will hear all about the 'barefoot story' from several of her 'angels' but I will give you a short version of it. When she was 6 years old traveling with her grandma (they are inseparable) they came across a girl about the same age who was sitting on the sidewalk with no shoes on and her feet were scarred and bloody. Angelina and the girl had a conversation and Angelina took off her shoes (her favorite little boots) and gave them to the girl. On the way home Angelina, who was in deep thought, told her grandma she couldn't believe there are children in the world who didn't even own a pair of shoes. She told grandma she never wants to forget the little girl and so from that time on she said she will perform in public with no shoes on so she will always remember that little girl and the fact that there are so many children that need help in the world. She wrote a book about the incident when she was 9 (from information in her diary). Grandma did the illustrations in the book (grandma was also a child prodigy and is a renown painter and poet) and she became the youngest published author in the history of Norway. When she was about 10 she was being interviewed on a Norwegian TV station and at the end of the segment the woman doing the interview asked Angelina if she still remembers the little girl. Angelina replied, "I think of her every day."

Another tribute to one of her recorded mentors. She loves Elvis's vocals and his family. I watched Elvis on his first visit to the Ed Sullivan Show 1956. He was headed to destiny but was grossly mismanaged. He and many others of her recorded mentors passed far too early because of people, drugs or both abuse. The music industry is riddled with sadness. There's a sadness to this song too, not like the upbeat rock version he did. I like this slower version better, at least for today. In many of Angelina's covers, she will pay tribute to the artists of the songs she covers. In this one, she is extending homage to Elvis. She also does her arrangements or, at least, has very much input into the way her music is done. In this case, she departed from Elvis by slowing the tune down and singing it in a way the lyrics actually ask for. Elvis covered it like the original, a virtual pop "dance" tune, although the lyrics are a sad, emotional and heartbreaking tale of an impending breakup and lost love. My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

She was 16 and you should compare this to 2 Adele Covers EASY ON ME, and ALL I ASK. Even between the 2 Adele Covers notice the different approaches. Just do not expect two songs to be the same. She plays with the texture warmth and gritty rasp as she flexes her vocal techniques.

Jimmy, it's my opinion Angelina is singing this song the way Mark James intended, heartfelt. The lyrics dictate the emotion of the song. I think Elvis sang it like he was pissed at Priscilla's well founded suspicions. Many say to discover Angelina in chronological order, I don't agree. She's way to good at any age. There no question that her early years were building blocks for her now, but she was already singing at a highly skilled level at six and seven years old. Jump around, I found her to be very prolific around the ages ten through twelve, many performances done at home in one or two takes. No Shoes When AJ was very small, she meets a girl on the Steet in a foreign country that was weighing people with a bathroom scale to make money to buy food, the girl did not have shoes, so Angelina took her shoes off and gave them to her. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even donated her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.

Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice was 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve. I have a number of pictures of celebrities whose height is known, for example, Austin Butler, who played Elvis, is 6ft tall, and AJ published a picture of her standing next to him, she was at least 1 inch taller than him, and she had to look down at him.

The song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song.
The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family.
Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).
Elvis was almost a like a superhero when I was young. He died when I was 5 and I still remember it. There was a huge resurgence of his music after that. She did an amazing job and I think he would have loved it.

I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on YOUTube since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani.
She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday’ and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. That dude playing the piano is Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, two years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision.

Elvis hit the world with a big bang when I was in my very early teens. I met him quite by accident when I was 13 and he was still in the early stages of his career. He made such an impression on this small town kid that from that day on he was THE KING and no one could ever take his place. That is till in 2014 when I happened to see and hear a little 7 year old Norwegian girl singing 'Gloomy Sunday' on a news broadcast in Costa Rica! That was the day that Elvis became the King of music, and Angelina, since that day has become the QUEEN of music! She has been given a gift that is like nothing I have ever seen in any other person in my life. I will never believe that she was given the name "Angelina" by accident, nor that her last name "Astar" was accidental, She is an ANGEL! And she is A STAR! And I firmly believe that though I probably won't be alive to see much of it, she will make during the rest of her life, one of the biggest impressions on music and on life and humanity ever by a single person! And by the way, I have really enjoyed your 2 reactions of Angelina, and I subscribed to hear more of your reactions ! A dislocated 80 year old "Southern boy"!

Angelina and her grandmother chose to use Angelina's two young cousins and her younger sister to represent her through her youth (always wearing white dresses). Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day.
Elvis' version is great, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own.
When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 83 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched.
Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song.
The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers.
The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister.

New subscriber! Thank you for reacting to our Barefoot Princess! There is a very heartwarming reason for her bare feet. When she was six, she and her family were traveling in the Middle East. They happened upon a homeless orphan girl about Angelina's age who was weighing people on scales to make money for herself and siblings. She was shoeless. Angelina began talking with her (Angelina knows Farsi because her Grandma Mery is Iranian). At SIX YEARS of age, they began sharing their hopes & dreams. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor; Angelina said she wanted to be a superstar one day. They agreed to think of and pray for each other every day. Angelina took off her favorite pair of sea-green boots and gave them to the little girl!!! Pure Empathy!!! She vowed shortly thereafter that she would NEVER wear shoes while performing until every child in the world had could have shoes and have their needs fulfilled. From age 7 with her Norway's Got Talent audition to this very day at age 17, she has NEVER broken that vow, even in freezing outdoor weather (such as when she performed outdoors at the Nobel Peace Prize awards in 2014 at age 8 and contracted a cold). Angelina has a platinum voice, but she has a heart of purest gold! She wrote a book at age NINE about her experience with the little Middle Eastern girl. It's called (in English) "Between Two Hearts," making her the youngest published author in Norway's history. Angelina is phenomenal!

It was also a real family production - the Executive Producer Mery Zamani is Angelina's grandmother, the 2 youngest girls are her cousins & the older girl is Angelina's younger sister Juliette. Jim, two time Grammy award winner and pianist, Rob Christie wrote the musical arrangement and then sixteen year old Angelina created the vocal arrangement. Everything about the production of this video pays homage to Elvis’ 1968 Come Back Special. Angelina’s grandma, Mery Zamani is the executive producer. The two youngest girls are Angelina’s cousins. They are her uncle Michael’s children. Michael is also Angelina’s agent. The middle school aged girl is Angelina’s sister, Juliette.
Very nice reaction! Elvis is another singer that influenced her. Angelina was actually lucky enough to meet and speak with Priscilla Presley during a private screening of the Elvis movie. She even got to meet Austin Butler, the actor who played Elvis. It is subtle, but if you listen carefully, she actually sang parts of the song in the same key as Elvis, which I didn't pick up initially until it was mentioned by a number of commenters and reactors. Her voice has only been getting better and better and she's only 17. I can't imagine what she'll sound like when she's in her 20's and 30's! WOW!
Jimmy, She does all the rearranging and did you notice how she started it off with lyrics from the middle of the song. She wants listeners to feel the love in the message of the song and often times we understand it for the first time even though we had heard it many times before. You will hear all about the 'barefoot story' from several of her 'angels' but I will give you a short version of it. When she was 6 years old traveling with her grandma (they are inseparable) they came across a girl about the same age who was sitting on the sidewalk with no shoes on and her feet were scarred and bloody. Angelina and the girl had a conversation and Angelina took off her shoes (her favorite little boots) and gave them to the girl. On the way home Angelina, who was in deep thought, told her grandma she couldn't believe there are children in the world who didn't even own a pair of shoes. She told grandma she never wants to forget the little girl and so from that time on she said she will perform in public with no shoes on so she will always remember that little girl and the fact that there are so many children that need help in the world.
She wrote a book about the incident when she was 9 (from information in her diary). Grandma did the illustrations in the book (grandma was also a child prodigy and is a renown painter and poet) and she became the youngest published author in the history of Norway. When she was about 10 she was being interviewed on a Norwegian TV station and at the end of the segment the woman doing the interview asked Angelina if she still remembers the little girl. Angelina replied, "I think of her every day."

On March 24, 1997, Dion became the first artist ever to perform twice on the same Academy Awards night. In addition to singing "Because You Loved Me," she also sang "I Finally Found Someone" from the movie The Mirror Has Two Faces, recorded by Barbra Streisand and Bryan Adams. Streisand preferred not to perform that night, and Natalie Cole had been scheduled to sing her song instead. But Cole pulled out, so only two days before the Oscar night, Dion was asked if she could do it. Although nervous, she accepted and managed to perform on the night.
A few days later, Streisand sent Dion flowers and a note: "I watched the tape afterwards, you sang my song beautifully and I regret I wasn't in the room to hear you, next time let's make one together. I really wish your song would have won, you are a wonderful singer". That note wasn't left without an answer, and René Angélil called up David Foster to write a song for them, and the result was "Tell Him". Citing Streisand as one of her most prominent idols, Dion had always wanted to sing with her but feared getting too close to her idol, explaining, "It takes practically nothing to destroy your image of them. The baby and very little girl are Angelina's cousins - the preteen girl is Angelina's sister Juliette and the Piano Player is Rob Christie Director of the Republic Records Los Angeles Studio which is the record label that Angelina has been signed with since she was 14 years old. Her first US Album is expected to be released this year (2023) after she finishes High School.

Another tribute to one of her recorded mentors. She loves Elvis's vocals and his family. I watched Elvis on his first visit to the Ed Sullivan Show 1956. He was headed to destiny but was grossly mismanaged. He and many others of her recorded mentors passed far too early because of people, drugs or both abuse. The music industry is riddled with sadness. There's a sadness to this song too, not like the upbeat rock version he did. I like this slower version better, at least for today. She is phenomenal, like he was, but in a more rational, controlled, professional way. Good reaction. Looking forward to you reacting to more from Angelina.

In many of Angelina's covers, she will pay tribute to the artists of the songs she covers. In this one, she is extending homage to Elvis. She also does her arrangements or, at least, has very much input into the way her music is done. In this case, she departed from Elvis by slowing the tune down and singing it in a way the lyrics actually ask for. Elvis covered it like the original, a virtual pop "dance" tune, although the lyrics are a sad, emotional and heartbreaking tale of an impending breakup and lost love. Angelina sings the song as it should be performed.
This was Elvis's last number one song.
In this video she is dressed as Elvis was in his " '68 Comeback Special" TV program. Leather from top to bottom. Her hair is done up in a "bee hive" style that Elvis liked his wife Pricilla to wear.
The red guitar is a contemporary Hagstrom reproduction of a 1967 Viking II. Elvis had borrowed it from Al Casey, one of the session musicians of the Comeback Special band. Although Elvis never owned it, the original guitar recently sold at auction for over $600,000.
The piano and mic are like the ones in the Sun studio in Memphis, where Elvis started his recording career. The piano player is Rob Christie, a top studio exec at her label, Republic Records. He is dressed in the same garb as the '68 Special bandmembers were in that broadcast.
The young girl(s), Angelina's relatives, are a nod to Elvis's and Pricilla's kid, Lisa Marie, may God love her soul. The last segment of the children shows Angelina's sister, Juliette, as a 9 year old Lisa Marie. That was how old Lisa was when her dad died. Many reactors guess that the children in this video denotes Angelina growing up, but all the symbolisms is about Elvis and not Angelina.
There is a short segment of Angelina reposing on a couch. She is wearing what look like mismatched shoes. One is blue suede, yes?
Many of the antique shop artifacts, particularly the old red fabric chair in the background seem "fit for a king".
The artistic production may have been by her executive producer and grandmom, Mery Zamani. My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.
Like your interpretation, I thought they were her music journey from age 1-1/2 to this video at age 16! The Antique Store the items hi-lighted gave me Elvis taste. The Black Leather Suite and Red Guitar are a tribute to Elvis 1968 Comeback Special and the Beehive Hairdo is respectful to Prescilla, something Angelina always does. She was 16 and you should compare this to 2 Adele Covers EASY ON ME, and ALL I ASK. Even between the 2 Adele Covers notice the different approaches. Just do not expect two songs to be the same. She plays with the texture warmth and gritty rasp as she flexes her vocal techniques.

Jimmy, it's my opinion Angelina is singing this song the way Mark James intended, heartfelt. The lyrics dictate the emotion of the song. I think Elvis sang it like he was pissed at Priscilla's well founded suspicions. Many say to discover Angelina in chronological order, I don't agree. She's way to good at any age. There no question that her early years were building blocks for her now, but she was already singing at a highly skilled level at six and seven years old. Jump around, I found her to be very prolific around the ages ten through twelve, many performances done at home in one or two takes. No Shoes
When AJ was very small, she meets a girl on the Steet in a foreign country that was weighing people with a bathroom scale to make money to buy food, the girl did not have shoes, so Angelina took her shoes off and gave them to her. AJ stated she would not wear shoes while performing until ever shoeless child had shoes to wear. AJ has helped raise millions for charity, so she is not just the greatest storytelling signature vocalist in the world, she cares.

Angelina was 16 here, and 6'0" tall. The hair was for Priscilla who Elvis insisted she wear it this way. That is all her hair. No add-ons or anything like that. She is bare foot because at 6 she made a promise to a homeless girl in the Middle East to always perform bare foot to remember the other girl by, and also to let us her fans and whoever she sings for that there many children around the world who still don't have access to shoes. This young lady is going to be a monster. I don't mean as a singing SuperStar that is a given. No I mean as an Earth mover. There are things at work in her that transcend this world. I may not live to see it happen as I am 72 and she is 17 I'm not sure I have another 10 years left as I'm borrowing from God already.
But I get to see her grow up some. She and another possible world beater in Daneliya Tuleshova who is breaking out with some new music that is edgier than anything she has done before. Both have the talent and intelligence to make the decisions that will change our world for the better.
She would tower over me, even without that hair. She towers above most with her talent.
